Though we did not speak any Italian, the shop owner was very welcoming and polite! We told him (as best we could) that we were from America and he treated us super kindly. He offered us appetizers (on the house!) so that we could sample true Italian seafood. He sent over grilled shrimp on crusty Italian bread with grilled asparagus, followed by a fritter of sorts which consisted of a ball of extremely tiny fish. The "fritter" is something I wouldn't have considered ordering as eating small fish whole isn't something I'd normally do, but it was good! For our meals, we ordered the fried seafood platter which consisted of calamari, anchovies, and other small fish and crustaceans. Wow. I was blown away! We cleaned the plates! I recently began planning a trip to Italy for next year and knew that I'd have to mark this place for a return visit. After ordering some tasty vino we went the Focaccia with mozzarella, black truffle with a truffle cream sauce. The Focaccia was lite and a thin crust. Topped with some delicious mozzarella and black truffle made this appetizer and home run choice. After the Focaccia I decided to stay on theme and went with the Fettuccine al tartufo nero e porcini (fettuccine black truffle & porcini mushrooms). Holy cow, a delicious culinary delight.
