This is a family campground, clean, well maintained and beautifully situated on the river. However, it is on a river and with that comes rocks, mud, potential flooding, wildlife, insects, and some hardy partiers. There will be spiders in your cabin, the carpet is not clean, the furniture is old, lines are not plush, and pillows are flat. But toilets flush, water from the spigot will run clear after a few minutes and the mud usually dries up pretty quickly. This campground has quiet hours and isn't crazy full of drunks, like others in the area. But it is a take out spot for paddlers, so you will be entertained by floaters at the end of their day of drinking. Typically a nice rocky beach exists and you can hang at the river. Now if it's been raining a lot the beach may be gone. This is rare. Indian Springs is an ideal place to stay to float. At your appointed time you and all your coolers get to go on a crazy ride on an old school bus where you'll be given your raft, canoe or kayak for the day. Then you simply paddle down a cool, clear, fairly shallow river until you return to your campground for a hot shower. Even hot meals are served on the weekends (breakfast and suppers). Let's talk about the term "resort." It is used very loosely in this part of MO. The five stars is not for fancy luxury. It's for practicality. In your cabin, You can expect electricity, clean linens, dorm sized fridge, running water, air conditioning, beds and a few chairs and a table on a sort of screened porch. Fire circles, trash cans and some playground equipment are available outside. Pack the kids' bikes, a pet if you're willing to pay the pet fee/fine and your own beer. While ice is available, no cold beer is sold at the store. Horseshoe pits and shoes are available for free. Our family finds this campground awesome for our needs. We have a large group (60-70 people of all ages--this year we ranged from 4 to 80 years old. We rent cabins all close to each other, some choose the extra tiny motel rooms, while some families camp (not recommended for tent camping as too prone to flooding/standing water). We make large group meals--imagine packing crockpots, roasters, fish fryers, etc. There is a small swimming pool--but I believe the owners have had it with replacing the liner so it is going to be turned into a lillypad pond. We will miss it. But we've already put down our deposit for next year!

It has 4 bedrooms with queen beds, a loft with 2 queen beds, multiple pull outs or room for air mattresses. It's a wonderful place for a group of friends or family to stay and spend some time together. They pick you up from the cabin for the float and drop you back off at the cabin, making it very easy!!! Easy check in/check out at main lodge.

We've been going to bass river resort for about 13 years in a row for an annual friends float trip…read more It's a convenient 1.5 hrs from Stl and although the river is cram packed every year that adds to the great people watching and chaos that we've come to enjoy and look forward to every year. Last year we splurged and upgraded to the a 20 person cabin and for the little bit extra you get A LOT of value. The views amazing, the cabin beautiful and brand new and although camping is fun, the dedicated bus pickup and drop off and a cool cabin to shower and chill in after a hot float is top notch relaxation. We'll continue to go every year. The staff is great, efficient, and its well oiled machine that delivers every year. If you're going to camp, camp by the bathroom, it's totally worth being by the bathroom but it's not so close it smells or anything. Depending on the amount of rain the floats usually 4 to 6 hours on rafts. Enjoy!

This place is a great little getaway a few hours away from the St. Louis area for camp camping…read more There are tons of options with cabins with Jacuzzi, permanent cabins, and little houses as well to rent. When we arrived at check-in, it was super easy to get checked in and everyone was very kind. They have a store with some small items if you forgot anything. The owners live on site and they let me and my kids go visit their puppies and play in the puppies area/run house. They are very kind and spoke to us often throughout. They even offered to go to the store to pick AA batteries for us and a couple other things instead of us going to the store and purchasing it from them directly that was very kind and going above. The only reason for the four star is, I did call them to get additional towels for the cottage house we rented. Whoever answered the phone had hesitation in their voice, and seemed annoyed that I was asking for extra towels. They asked how many people were in our party because they saw a lot of people.kitchen told them yes we rented the cottage house +3 primitive cabins we had a large party, but we were not over using any space. He thought hesitation in his voice and I explained to him we only had two towels and he was more than welcome to come check if he doubted us he said oh that's strangely usually put four or five in the house I said well, they didn't then they offered to bring more as much as we all spent for the entire weekend. It was a little frustrating how we were treated in that specific scenario. They had paddle boats you could rent and we rented two. It was a decently priced 35 for four hours. They also have horseback riding and a couple other things that you can pay additional for. The cottage was fully stocked. The primitive cabins you do have to bring your own linens, which is clearly stated
