Incredibly disappointed with the front desk staff and policies at Meramec Dermatology. I initially chose them because of their Arnold location and working with kids, but they only accept new patients or children at their Sunset Hills office, which is a far drive for us. Because they don't offer after-school slots for new patients (the latest they offer is 2:30 PM), I had to arrange classroom coverage to leave work early as a teacher, and pull my daughters out of school. After dealing with school delays, traffic, and difficult parking, we walked into the office at 2:40 PM for our 2:30 PM appointment. The receptionist was on the phone, and when she finally acknowledged us at 2:41pm, she rudely informed me that they would not see us because we were past their 10-minute grace period by one minute. We were literally one minute late with two young kids in tow. I understand the need to stay on schedule, but to turn away a new patient who waited over a month for an appointment--and who clearly rushed to get there--over sixty seconds is completely rigid and lacking in basic customer service. We will not be back and I recommend looking elsewhere if you want an office that values its patients' time and effort. read more

Always a quick and easy appointment. The office is very efficient and all staff is professional.

I have been a patient for three plus years.Sometimes I have to be seen two times a year....At a much younger age I damaged my skin by spending to much time in the sun and there were no sunscreen lotions. They are always very friendly, office clean,seen in a timely manner.... I have recommended them to many people who are greatly pleased,as well. read more

Dr. Sternhell and Dr. Kyllo are top notch doctors. Dr. Sternhell diagnosed my issue and referred me to Dr. Kyllo for a biopsy. The biopsy was positive for a carcinoma. They immediately referred me to BJC Siteman Cancer Center. From there Siteman handled my surgeries and care. If doctors Sternhell and Kyllo not been so thorough my disease may have progressed more. I am very grateful to them and the staff at Meramec Dermatology. read more

This was my first visit to Meramec Dermatology and I would recommend Dr. Briscoe for anyone who is anxious about a skin condition. His staff was courteous and professional and I was seen within a few minutes of my appointment time. Dr. Briscoe took the time to answer all my questions and before doing one small procedure he made sure I knew the purpose of what he was planning to do and he clearly asked me for my permission. You will not be rushed or pressured to do anything. I am new to the area and Dr. Briscoe will be my dermatologist at the Sunset Hills location. read more

Dr. Chibnall is a nice doctor but doesn't listen to my ideas or opinions. Seems to prolong treatment over many visits with the same treatment that was not working. $$$$ She insisted on performing things not covered by insurance even though I suggested that it was not necessary. I was going every 3-4 weeks for about 6 months with no improvement. It was apparent to me that her insisted upon treatment was a waste of money and physically very painful at the same time. I'm not sure why alternatives were not taken into account when many exist. I just had to pay up a lot of money for nothing. I feel dumb for going back so many times and trusting her treatment. I found a different doctor that fixed my problem immediately by listening to my suggestion. read more

This was my first visit to Dr. Briscoe. I am very pleased with the office personnel, his assistant and the doctor himself. He took time to explain to me what he found, recommended, and the procedure. I highly recommend Dr. Briscoe and the Sunset Hills office. read more

When you are on hold for 45 minutes to speak to a representative so I can inform them of a cancellation and still no able to speak to anyone, is totally unacceptable and very unprofessional. It tells you how they run their business. Avoid them like the plague!! read more

I scheduled a visit three months in advance and even confirmed my appointment the day of the visit on the phone. I was exactly ten minutes late due to traffic for my appointment and Dr. Blackwell had already left the office. I drove 30 minutes to get there and the office staff was rude and said I had to reschedule. Very upsetting that the Dr left ten minutes into my appointment with no call to check on my status. read more

Would not recommend. I was overbilled and my problem was not solved. Dr. Staser will charge you $100 just to tell say you have a mole which isn't even the problem you were being seen for. He'll also offer you a useless steroid shot. He doesn't do it because he's confident it will help, he just does it because because he knows he can charge $50 for it. I would find a physician that has your best interest in mind and not just their own bank account. read more

This was my first visit to Meramec Dermatology. Dr Briscoe saw me and was quickly able to diagnose my condition. His assesment about my problem certainly was of great relief to me since my primary physician asked me to see a dermatologist immediately. And, knowing that Dr. Briscoe had his medical training at Washington University School of Medicine and Barnes-Jewish Hospital , made be very pleased to be at his office. I would not go back to this provider. While being placed in the room, I was asked what I was there for - and whether I had any specific issues to discuss. I named them off. I still had to relist them when the doctor came in-so she wasn't really clearly informed beforehand. I wanted a more proactive response, like "I can take those moles off for you!" instead of just being told to put ointment on them and come back if I wasn't getting results. ((Hello, I'm back NOW stating the same problems I had a year ago! That should be a clue.)) The bottom line for me is that I needed to obviously be much more aggressive in pushing the treatment I wanted or expected. I wasn't - and thus, was really dismissed by the doctor. My entire visit lasted about 10min or less. I was billed several hundred dollars -- literally for (what I believe) was nothing. I mean, could I go to the checker at Walmart and get the same diagnosis and treatment-and she'd charge me less than 300? I guess they bill you for 'knowledge' rather than 'treatment'. If you choose this practice, be aware that you're going to have to be pushy and direct about what you expect from them and will pay top dollar for it. The front office staff are nice.
