Below average ramen in my opinion. Ordered chicken ramen that was paired with fish based broth . Strange combo .I didn't like it . Service was ok. Casual ambience. Won't be back .

Right off the bat kind of a weird vibe. Staff were just awkward i guess. Nice little place it's very clean even the bathrooms are great. True best reviews are for the poke which i didn't try so if you want poke those reviews seem good! The udon though was very average. Lacking flavor it just tasted like boiled chicken in like dashi water broth lol. Not terrible but definitely not worth the price. There are better ramen places but you might have to go a little further than springs unfortunately.

Spicy pulled chicken udon and spicy tuna handroll
    Dewi A.

Food: I ordered the spicy pulled chicken udon soup and a spicy tuna handroll. The broth was tasty, the pulled chicken was generous, and overall, it was a solid bowl. The handroll was delicious -- loved how crispy the nori was, because who wants to bite into soggy seaweed? The tuna was fresh, and the spice level was spicy! If you like spice, I highly recommend. Otherwise, order a different handroll. Service: quick, efficient, no fuss. Order at the cashier and pick a seat. The food comes to you. Ambiance: casual, no frills. One critique? They need ramen with non-pork based options. Would be nice to see miso or chicken ramen bowls. Udon is great, but I was really wanting ramen, but I don't eat pork!

A little ramen and poke shop in the corner of the Promenade Shops at Briargate, this was a nice surprise. Staff was patient and friendly as we had our orders upfront. They take credit card. Handed us water cups without asking for them. Bus your own table - bowls and utensils into the back. They also have bubble tea in plastic containers which were ok - overly sweet but bubbles at least were the right texture although ice made it hard to get all of them. The Menya special ramen was excellent. Ramen noodles just right, firm and chewy, the soup was rich but not too oily and not too salty, a difficult find in the US. The spicy miso my wife loved and they even had extra spicy chili oil in case you need it spicier ($0.25 each). The gyoza we'll have to try again later, and the bulgogi bowl was nice and filling, had it over two meals. Miso soup was good, too. Will have to come here again when in town! Excellent ramen and a nice treat.

    Pan fried Gyoza - delicious

Excellent gyoza and Ramen! Despite other reviewers experiences, the staff here was friendly and helpful and greeted us upon entry. We ordered the Gyoza, which came pan fried, hot and delicious. My husband had the curry bowl while I ordered the vegetable Ramen to which I added some spicy chili oil. Everything was delicious. The seating is not especially comfortable, but it is bright and clean in the restaurant .

    Menya SP Ramen

This is my first review of Menya. I've been ordering their poke bowls but this time I tried their ramen. It's a pretty basic ramen and definitely not worth $16. I ordered the Menya Special Ramen. Broth is not rich enough. There's no depth to it and usually, that's what you want in a ramen. Noodles are okay, good bounce and texture. Toppings were questionable.. spinach? Paid extra $2 for Ajitsuk Tamago (egg) and you can see how it's not even a whole egg and very broken. So if you're craving for a really good ramen bowl, this isn't it. If you're just hungry and want ramen, sure why not. I've tried their poke bowls multiple times, I would say fish to rice ration is kinda bad. What fills the bowl is the toppings you would put, so you won't get fish in every bite. We just order from them just because we get a good deal in Uber for ordering.

    Thai tea to go

The noodles for the ramen are pretty good but the broth has no flavor. Ordered the chashu and the spicy miso. Both lacked bold flavor and were basic at best. The spicy tuna roll was good and would recommend.

    Chicken Udon

I am obsessed with this place. I have gone here for years because the chicken udon is my absolute favorite. I love to get a strawberry calpico too so im glad they have those.

Thai tea and menya special poke
    Emily C.

Decided to stop by here after shopping. The menu included pictures which made it easy to order and the lady at the cashier was very helpful and deciding what to get. I ended up getting the Thai bubble tea and menya special poke. The poke came with some miso soup, which was very tasty and not too salt and was a good portion. The Thai tea was on the sweeter end than I would like and the bubbles were very chewy.

Yasai Ramen, don't judge a book by its cover, this is very good

My childhood friend recommended this place and then said, (but you're from S.F. don't get too excited) She was wrong, this place is just as good as any place in Japantown SF. Veggie noodles looked boring but they were actually so flavorful, I added one spoon of their delicious chili oil and I also added corn and egg. My nephew said his spicy miso noodles were almost as good as S.F. and he gave an 8/10. Ambiance was fine. The servers were very friendly and the food was fast.

Location is convenient for a friend of mine as she works close by. The food is good. Not the best Japanese, but tolerable

Shuga's Favorite Cafe Tray is an order that could satisfy one's entire meal but is best when shared as a starter or if you are looking for a light meal. The Mediterranean selection with the hummus and tapenade is amazing with the coconut shrimp soup being a must try with its creamy and spiciness. Though I love the almond butter cake the most to add a little dessert to the meal. The Madame of the Pletzl is one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. The bagel is perfectly salted and has a wonderful crunch the sandwich needs. The egg melts into the sandwich, mixing with everything it needs to. The ham is fried up to crisp it up a bit but the ham seems to be lacking flavor wise compared to everything else in the sandwich. The Cuban Mojo Sandwich also is an amazing sandwich. The pork shoulder is crisped up nicely and works so well with everything else. The winter soup was a tomato soup with some grilled cheese croutons and it is the best tomato soup I've ever had. The tomato soup isn't puréed, there are noticeable definitions in the tomatoes in the soup. The soup isn't too acidic which is the usual issue in tomato soups. The croutons really amplify this dish on to another level and I just wish there were more in my soup. I can't wait to come back here and my biggest issue will to try and order new things.

The Kimchi Jjigae is phenomenal--deeply flavorful with just the right amount of sour and spice. It's bold, comforting, and tastes like it's been simmering with intention. The kimchi pancake is perfectly crispy and insanely delicious, and the tteokbokki brings the heat with a spicy, addictive sauce that keeps you going back for "just one more bite." Don't skip the house-made cinnamon-ginger tea--it packs a warm, delicious punch and is the perfect way to round out the meal. And the banchan? Never-ending, always rotating, and every single one is different, delicious, and dangerously addictive. The service is just as great as the food--friendly staff, attentive without hovering, and clearly on top of things. The restaurant is busy (always a great sign), but we didn't wait for a table at all and were seated immediately. The ambiance ties everything together: warm, lively, and comforting without feeling chaotic. It's the kind of place where the energy makes the food taste even better, whether you're there for a casual meal or a full-on comfort-food fix. The brave souls that venture into the realm of independent restauranting are typically rewarded with limited patronage, and even death. The locals invariably demand large, corporate chain food replete with seed oils, sugar and salt. In light of the pricing, quality and portions afforded here at Tong Tong in their lunch special today, I will be enthusiastically adding them to my restaurant list for Colorado Springs. Today, I ordered the Spicy Bulgogi lunch special. With it came the soup, Kim Chi (2 varieties), Korean potato salad and rice, not to mention a pretty appetizing Spicy Bulgogi. It had the right spice quotient and most astonishingly, packed meat quality that was relatively good--all for a paltry $13! Everything was quite good, no, not at the level of LA's Koreatown's finest. But considering the price, the generosity, the overall quality, and most notably, the fact that we are in Colorado Springs, a foodie's worst nightmare, as a venue, this place scores highly with me. My apologies for the quality of the photos. I was rushed somewhat. I would encourage you to try this restaurant and sample the spicy bulgogi.
