We stayed in the next town - Roquebrun - for a few nights. And the lovely old town of Menton was really just a nice little walk away. An easy stroll along the ocean.
The beach here is nice, there's a nice little park at the sea with some food stalls selling international dishes.
The main attraction though was the old town itself. The Rue St.Michel is the main drag in town and has lots of shops and restaurants. And all kinds of lemon-related products you'll ever need.
It's a bright, colorful old town with wonderful historic buildings. It's just a happy place and it's fun to walk up and down the (mostly) traffic-free street.
Don't miss out on the impressive Basilique Saint-Michel Archange de Menton. Have a drink in one of the numerous restaurants located beachfront. If you need some basic groceries, then there's a Carrefour City right in the old town. And for some nice, authentic food you should head to the back street and try out "Le P'tit Resto" on the western end of town.
A lovely town, picture-perfect with a wonderful seaside location. read more
