Such a cute little market and tea and coffee shop! I loved the cozy atmosphere and the variety of tea and coffee options they offer. It's a fun place to stop in, browse the shop, and enjoy a drink. The service was good, and our drinks were enjoyable. We asked if we could have a little more sugar added to our drinks, and our request was taken care of. One small thing I noticed was that one staff member seemed to have a look on her face that came across as a little unwelcoming. That said, I'm not sure if it was intentional or if it was just her expression in the moment, so I don't want to assume. Hopefully it was just a misunderstanding. Overall, it's a cute spot with nice drink options and a unique atmosphere. I'd definitely consider stopping by again and trying more of their menu! read more

This shop just moved from a storefront to being inside a mercantile. It was nice to poke around while you wait for your order, but I must say the refrigerators for the mercantile were pretty loud, taking away from the coffeehouse ambiance. This place is amazing! It's across from the Bethany post office and is now combined with the farmers market. The tea and coffee are yummy and I've tried their sandwiches and desserts - all really good. I love their message more than anything - a safe space. Service is always top notch and the space they have for a little cozy soave to sit down and enjoy. They have local artists that have spaces with their items for sale. Very bright and well lit which would make it a perfect place to work, study, or meet and greet. The cons: 1) Mainly operating for to go. Coffees are in to go cups even ordering inside. 2) Closes earlier than other coffee shops, at 4:30 PM, I believe. 3) Located in an area where no college or big businesses nearby. Mentalities is a great place to study in. I love the ambiance there are comfortable places to sit and enjoy your treat. I enjoy the coffee here although sometimes it's a bit liter than I would like the food is pretty good but a bit pricy. Out of all the coffee shops I've been to, the staff here is the kindest and most genuine. Their friendly service makes getting your coffee in the morning enjoyable. I have tried a little bit of everything. But I'm a fan of their ice chai latte, which is very flavorful and not too sweet. I had their hot dirty chai latte once, and it wasn't great, so I tend to get iced it now. And their ice caramel latte is also wonderful, very creamy and not burnt-tasting, and crazily sweet. They also have food options like baked goods and soup, and sandwiches. The price of their coffee is a bit steep, but their regular cup is 20 oz, so I think the size makes up for it. read more

Have used Mentalitea's catering service several times for Board meetings. The food has been amazing. Delivery and presentation of the food has been stellar. The chicken salad sandwiches are the bomb. Very cozy little place tucked away in an unassuming area. The baristas were very sweet and made our drinks perfectly. They have done a great job of maximizing their limited space and creating some great little seating areas. If there is anything I know well it's coffee and sadly my first experience with Mentality was severely disappointing. I actually had high hopes for this place. The name is witty, the building is cute, the location was convenient, staff was pleasant and quick with service, but the coffee, which is the main thing at a coffee place, was greatly lacking. I ordered a mocha. This usually consists of a deep coffee flavor produced by two nicely pulled shots, with perfectly steamed milk giving it that creamy texture mixed in with a nice chocolate that compliments the depth of the coffee for that sugary surprise. I was surprised with my first sip, as the drink felt like it took the flavor from my mouth rather than giving me that oh so wonderful first taste as is expected. Instead, it was like someone took an old pot of drip coffee, poured it in a cup, added warm milk, and possibly some sugarless Hershey's cocoa powder. I was warned by others that the coffee was lacking but always want to give a place a chance. They were right this time. I do hope this can be improved so the these wonderful little coffee shops can survive. read more

The egg bites I ordered I didn't eat, there was a strange odor and the first bite just wasn't great. I didn't attempt to turn around, as this was a drive-through order. A great neighborhood spot that does a little bit of everything. Before Mentalitea it was tough to find a place in the area with good wi-fi in a relaxed setting. Now, I'm able to enjoy a morning treat like a breakfast casserole, cookie, slice of pie, or anything else the team has decided to showcase for the day. Service is quick and friendly and the catering delivery makes it easy. They made two large charcuterie boards for a birthday party and made my grazing table a success. Stopped in here with a friend for breakfast on the last Saturday of July. We were the first customers after they opened. We were greeted warmly and offered some menus. We could see the first round of biscuits and breakfast casserole baking in the oven behind the order counter. Yummy! I ordered an Earl grey tea, a biscuit, and the southwest egg bites. My friend got the breakfast casserole and a banana bread muffin. We both agreed that the food was delicious. In particular, I liked the biscuit because it was more like bread than a croissant. (I don't care for the extra flaky biscuits at Hunny Bunny, and I miss the ones that they used to have at Buttermilk in the Paseo). I also liked having a choice between grape and strawberry jelly. They have a simple coffee/tea station where you can add creamer and sweetener. I was impressed that my Earl grey tea came out piping hot. I was even more impressed that they carry loose-leaf tea! They add lavender to their Earl grey tea; it's a nice accent to this classic brew. The attention to tea helps this place stand out from the other coffee shops in downtown Bethany. I look forward to many more visits with family and friends! read more

Comfortable and stylish shop. I like to sit in the indoor porch swing. This time I told the barista that I love the Happy Tea, but needed a jolt of caffeine, so he suggested the Earl Grey.
