Please be careful in buying the 2-camp pass. It's advertised as a savings, but the 2-camp pass cannot be used for camps that have an overnight option (even if your child plans to attend as a commuter). If you buy the 2-camp pass, don't be surprised if you find that non-residential camps near you (that your pass is valid for) get cancelled, and don't be surprised if they try to upsell you to overnight options which cost an additional $900. I'd love my child to be able to attend a second camp this year with the 2-camp pass we bought, but right now, PGC doesn't seem to be able to make that possible in our area. read more

One of the highlights of my life was attending Menlo College. Outstanding education, and many friendships.

The reasons I love Menlo College is because I love how many of the professors here on campus care about you. You are not a number in the system...you actually matter to the professors. They provide many opportunities out side of the classroom too. Every Tuesday night study slam takes place on campus! It has helped me better understand the material I am learning in class. This campus provides many hands on opportunities for their students. Everyone is encouraged to get involved with the school and help out in any way possible. If someone has an idea and wants to do something on campus it is possible! I have been able to do many things on campus and I always have the support of my classmates and professors. I love Menlo College for that. Also Menlo College has a great network! Pioneer Club is a club on Campus that has provided me with many connections and has opened the door to the Silicon Valley. One the best choices I've made In my life! I transferred from a state school to this small private business college once I figured out that I was not a big school kind of person. I found that I needed extra attention from professors and wanted a more engaging learning experience rather then just listening to lectures and writing papers. Came here as a poll worker for the 11/2013 election. Nice place. Clean. Easy access. A little cold int he morning but not bad at all since I am used to Pacifica cold. The head of the college cam by while I was there to ensure the site was working well for use. He also offered to warm up the room for the comfort of everyone. With the recent upgrades and being able to find someplace like this in the middle of Silicon Valley is amazing. I went for a tour and the students were so kind and inviting that I eventually chose to return to Menlo to be a student. With great programs and a mandatory internship to get experience before graduating, I thought this was a great fit for me. The school talks the talk more than walks the walk. They are a deceiving institution. I do not recommend it to anyone. My son attends there, he wanted to transfer but other colleges do not accept a lot of the credits from Menlo, not sure why. So he would of had to start all over again more or less so he is sticking it out there. I was a fan when he started but over the years I have seen the real side of the school. Very disappointing. My son reports the cafeteria food is horrible. He told me of an incident where his whole dorm got sick throwing up etc right after eating in the cafe, and the school admin had the nerve to say it was some kind of 24 hour flu bug going around. Yeah right. They show pics of the cafe on their website with this wonderful looking food. My son took a look at it and said he was surprised by the deceit. He said is was laughable That is what I mean about being dishonest and deceiving . it is one example of many. The worst is the admin staff for the school. Either flat out morons or just plain dishonest. Probably both. If you take extra money out for a loan for other expenses besides tuition etc. Like for books the admin won't give it back to you. We had 2 incidents. First one they did not return the money until the end of the semester and 2nd one they kept most of it saying there were lab expenses, but my son had no lab with the courses he was in!!! This after I talked with the admin idiots and supposedly straighten out the not giving extra loan money back problem. Liars. The sports program and the athletes are poorly supported re classes and schedules surrounding practice etc. My son had to stop doing the sport he loved to do because he could not get to a class as practice interfered and the study halls hours to make up the class work were during another class he had. So he had to stop which is a shame, sports is part of the college experience. And his grades vastly improved once he stopped competing , makes you wonder. We live in a state far from California. Returning home during spring break my son was told to stay home because of covid. We could not get back over there easily. The school took his belongings and threw them out, or probably pawned them. They knew the situation and could of easily put his things in a box as he was a returning student when school campus opened up again, but they had to be assholes and toss all his personnel stuff, clothes, sports equipment , books, mini fridge, social security card that was in his desk. Just outright assholes They pretty much destroyed my sons college experience. They were all nice etc when recruiting my son. Menlo is a very small (650 students) business based college (they also have a PSP, Professional Studies Program), yes it is a 4-year college, NOT a junior college. I attended Menlo for four years and had a great time. The campus is nice and is constantly being upgraded and re-landscaped. Most of the professors are awesome and are really passionate about the subject that they are teaching. The cafeteria only serves gourmet food, which many of the students dislike, but personally I think the cafeteria is really good! I graduated in May '07 and I just got a job offer at an advertising company, which I got through one of my professors (THANKS!). It's a small private business school. I personally like having a small class size because you're able to build connections with students and professors. I've attended a big university and didn't like that professors didn't know who you were. The professors at Menlo genuinely care about their students and are always here to help. The campus is really small. It's convenient because you can get anywhere on campus in less than 5 minutes. Parking sucks because student numbers are rising and they haven't added additional parking. But overall a great school and would recommend to anyone that actually wants to build connections with students and professors! read more

I have mixed feelings about Menlo College. My personal experience (I transferred in and was there 2004-2006) was a solid 5 star time of my life. I graduated with a BA in Mass Communications and really liked the small, intimate setting as I got to know my professors and peers really well. The advantage of being able to receive the extra personal attention and having access to building such close relationships with the faculty was the best benefit of being there. I didn't live on campus but made friends with many who did and rarely heard complaints about the dorms. My beef with Menlo is the fact that they closed down my department and canned all of my amazing professors, even the those who were tenured. Menlo College has been my ultimate enabler. The people and resources affiliated with the school have enabled my growth in various aspects of my life. I have seen growth academically, professionally, and even socially. It is because of the scholarship awards available at Menlo, that I am allowed the privilege of attending college. Without the scholarship I received from the school, I don't quite know how I could ever afford college on my own. The academics at Menlo College have helped me gain a deeper understanding of business topics, something I have been interested since high school. Knowledge that is learned at Menlo College prepares its students for the real world. This is coupled with great resources that help pair its students with experience filled internships. This should be a 3.5 star Menlo College is a great school if you can afford to live on campus and start as a freshman. It's an "ok" school if you transfer in and or are a "day student" (their term for off campus). The school is very good if you are able to spend all of your doing things on campus. This is where the living on campus comes in handy. If you are a day student, your activities are pretty much limited to bi-monthly "day student lunches" and occasional movie night (if you happen to see the flyer in time). Overall, Menlo is a pretty good school and the faculty and staff are very friendly and willing to accomodate students. I am glad that I had the chance to attend Menlo for the two years that I was able to. While it can be expensive, It is a very good private college pretty much hidden in plain sight in Atherton. read more

Beautiful Campus in a nice part of the Bay Area. Not a student, so you probably want to base my review on your education. But in terms of settings, this place is very nice. Nestled in the middle of the Silicon Valley, this place is probably ideal for you to start your college career. Lots of trees all around, and the campus seems very small. I hear that they don't have a lot of majors. This can be a disadvantage if they don't have what you want but i'm sure that they are great at what they are doing. DON'T GO HERE If you are an international student, and especially European, you are going to be disappointed of this school. This is absolutely not what you expect. After my first year, as a lot of freshman students, I decided to go back to my country. That was a waste of time and money !! The campus is so small and boring, the room are dirty (we found a Christmas card from 1994 under my roommate's desk). Moreover, I have been stolen : 200$ and all my makeup (worth around 600$). However the staff at the cafeteria, on campus and the security are really nice people. The school also provides "the writing center" which is a really good help for class and loved it. read more

Menlo has been growing since I started going to school here in 2015. We now have an alumni department, so after I graduate I can still keep in touch with my Menlo Roots. Menlo being a small private school has helped me meet so many wonderful people and the accounting department here at Menlo has helped me land an internship with one of the Big 4 public accounting firms thanks to their Meet the Firms event. I've had one of the best times at Menlo College. One of the things I noticed about Menlo is the strong sense of community. It is a very small campus (even smaller than most high school), which gives the students an easier time networking and socializing, not just with fellow students, but with the staff as well. The admissions does a great job in communicating with applicants and prospective students. They really put in the effort in getting to know the students, and helping them get into the school once they have determined that they're the right fit for the school. Professors are so nice and they are willing to put in the extra work to help the students whenever they are having difficulty with the material. The career services are so effective in securing the students a career after graduating. They do a good job preparing the students for job interviews and internships. The career services also gives the students an opportunity to network with professionals in order to get a head start in their career. This is my second semester here at Menlo College and I love it! Compared to my other top choices for my bachelors, Menlo provided the best scholarship. I am so happy I chose Menlo, because so far I have received a great education. I transferred from a large school, and Menlo was a great fit for me because it's a small community. If I need to see financial aid or a counselor I can see them that day if available. Rather than make an appointment for the next month. There are also free tutors, free workshops for numerous topics, and also a free student gym. If you work better in a smaller environment, I highly recommend Menlo! read more

Well I'm not sure what college Elaine attended but, put simply Menlo is probably the biggest joke of a college in the state of California. First of all its not 650 students, its more around 250-300. They claim to have one of the best business programs in area in. To be completely honest, I only stayed one semester so I'm not exactly sure how the academics were down the road. But from what I learned first hand was that they were a joke. My high school classes were more challenging and taken way more serious then any classes were there. And the professors weren't anything special, with the exception of one, who mainly taught at SJSU, not Menlo. But during my short time while attending there I learned alot about the school and how they run it. To begin I'll basically start this way. Menlo's main goal is to keep you their for your whole 4 yr tenure and suck the most money out of you as possible. And by this they would do it any way possible. One way they did was by allowing students who felt that Math 101 or English 1 to difficult and could take an easier version named Math 999 or English 999. These classes which they sometimes put students in without permission sometimes, were classes where the credit only counted at Menlo, which they often did not inform the students. Unfortunately this happened to a couple of my friends there who wanted to transfer out at semester, but instead of having the usual 15 credits of GE that would transfer out, only had maybe 6 from electives classes, since their math or English 999 classes only counted towards graduation at Menlo. Which is unfortunate because by year end they may only have 15-20 credits hours to put towards transferring, where many schools take a minimum of 30. Which is a common total at years end for freshmen, but not at Menlo. What I also noticed that they would do was a harsh way of punishing students. There was two incidents where students were got under the influence or in possession of alchool. These students were simply dismissed the next day for the rest of the semester where they would have to take Withdraws for all their classes on their transcript, and also had to take counseling and then were aloud to return to Menlo next semester. Might I add that these were the students FIRST offense. And withdraws on a transcript doesn't look to well for future possibility of a transfer. Sounds like a plan to get them to stay. Also it seems that Menlos priority was 1. making money and 2. punishing students. Some of the punishments were absurd. Minus the fact of kicking students out on first offense of alchool ( one student was two weeks into the semester) they simply saw the best punishment as fining students. At one point there was fine put in my dorm, that if any dorm door leading to the outside was found propped open or open everyone on that floor would receive a 50$ fine. Also if any empty bottle of alchool or full was found in a students room that was 500$ fine. Now I understand the fact of being strict about alchool in the freshmen dorm, but the rest were wet halls. And 500$ fines seemed absurd. To many of the students it seemed as they were being taking advantage of the fact that they are a private school and would do as they please. As some people had them rooms search by nosey and ridiculous Rd's while they were at class. Which is one reason that two people i knew simply packed up their stuff in the middle of the night and left and enrolled at community college for the rest of the semester. Now that that is finish, if you are considering attending Menlo keep in mind that the social life is terrible, everyone that lives on campus goes home for the weekends except international students. Also your freshmen class will be the same size as the sophomore, junior, and senior class put together. Your dorm will most likely be packed first semester where they will put kids in the older dorm because there are so many empty rooms. Many upper classmen that do stay on campus have double rooms to themselves...and there is still many empty rooms. While i was attending I can remember them finding a homeless man leaving in one of the dorm rooms that were empty. Second semester you will mostly likely be able to have a double room in the freshmen hall to yourself because a majority of students will transfer out. Also do a little a research one site I found that I wish I would of found early showed that 82% of students do not return for their sophomore year..and many of the people I knew either transferred out, or not returning their second year. So think smart about your choice if your considering Menlo, and don't make the same mistake I did. I'm quite glad that I got out when I did before they got me trapped to. Oh also for sports players I was friends with a few football players and they said they have to attempt to recruit 50 freshmen every year because many do not return their sophomore year.
