It's a small private business school. I personally like having a small class size because you're able to build connections with students and professors. I've attended a big university and didn't like that professors didn't know who you were. The professors at Menlo genuinely care about their students and are always here to help. The campus is really small. It's convenient because you can get anywhere on campus in less than 5 minutes. Parking sucks because student numbers are rising and they haven't added additional parking. But overall a great school and would recommend to anyone that actually wants to build connections with students and professors!

I just recently graduated from Palo Alto University's M.S. in Psychology Program and all I can say…read moreare good things about this university. Programs are rigorous and focused solely on Counseling and Psychology, with bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees being offered. Yes, it is a private school and the tuition is quite high, but it is worth it, especially since it is an institution closely affiliated with Stanford University, and it is one of a few universities that offers fully online programs tailored for working professionals. In my cohort, there were students who had graduated from UCLA, UC Berkeley, and USC, so getting into the graduate programs is not easy. The quality of education and supportive faculty are comparable to none. All faculty are experts in their fields and have clinical experience, so you are not only learning about theory in your courses, but you also learn to apply those theories in a clinical setting. All professors that I had were not only clinicians, but they also conducted their own research to advance their respective areas of focus. PAU is truly a hidden gem that not many people know about. It is more on the smaller side of a typical university in the Bay Area, but this comes as a great advantage in the form of smaller class sizes, supportive and accessible faculty, a collaborative and intimate classroom experience with peers, and professors knowing each student by name. Administration and staff always seemed approachable and went out of their way to help, so I always felt supported during my studies. The campus in Palo Alto is small but beautiful and very peaceful. If you're serious about becoming a competent, compassionate mental health professional, PAU offers the foundation you need. It certainly is not easy, but it is absolutely worth it. I left feeling prepared, confident, and grateful for the experience. Thank you, PAU.

I suggest that potential students think carefully before attending Palo Alto University. There are…read moreseveral serious concerns that you should know about. For one, the tuition is very high, which can put financial pressure on students. My experience with some faculty members was disappointing. I encountered a few who treated students in a condescending way, creating a negative learning environment. My concerns were not taken seriously by the administration. Therefore, this creates an environment where disrespect is condoned. Also, I noticed unprofessional behavior from some professors, which was surprising for a graduate school. The high turnover of faculty is concerns many professors I have taken are no longer with the school. Regarding the master's program, the school claims to be inclusive. However, I don't believe they are inclusive. Some members of the graduate enrollment committee, who are current students, act in a snobbish way, creating an unfriendly atmosphere. I don't think actual students should be given so much power in the acceptance process of a graduate program. If you look up the graduate program questions, it comes across as condescending. Why should you interview so thoroughly for a program you are paying for as a student? Overall, I do not recommend PAU. There are significant issues regarding how faculty treats people. I wouldn't be surprised to receive a rude response to this review, as the school tends to be defensive and unprofessional when faced with criticism that supports my points about staff and disrespect. I've observed that they respond to reviews in an argumentative manner rather than upholding professionalism. I encourage prospective students to think carefully before making a decision.

As my friend Antonio Lopez (mayor of East Palo Alto) reminded me in January of 2024, you'll get resistance any time you try to do good. Yeah, I guess that's how this world works, isn't it? So sad, but true. That's what history has taught us, with a patriarchal power structure, isn't it? Hey, on a positive note, I'm still alive today! Made it much longer than I thought, give the excessive criminal activities thrown at me from all directions. When I was at Canada College during the summer of 2023, I was thinking how fun it'd be to take a debate class... well, my goodness, after endless debates over the past 18 months, I think the combination of my street and classroom skills really paid off. As far as degrees of completion, I am still waiting on my honorary PhDs from several universities... unless they've been delivered to my Redwood City condo without me knowing?

The in-person requirements make sense, but they must include that information during the online orientation. I had to drive three hours to this school, last minute, for identity verification. After I got back home, I discovered I had to drive all the way back to hand in my documents at the financial aid office. Communication with Counseling and Admission and Records is a slow process. There are too many issues to cover, but I'm left with a sense that this school has run out money to pay their staff. It's a nice looking school, but I suspect they may be going through some serious budgeting issues, because they seem to struggle to keep business moving.

Employee Review - Admin assistant…read more I had the pleasure of working for NDNU's admissions and marketing team when they fully transitioned to a graduate university. Being a part of a huge shift was a learning experience and I was grateful to have had the support of several department heads. No one talked down to me or made me feel less than. Working on a campus surrounded by nature and spotting a deer on the daily brought me a sense of presence and peace that I enjoyed on my breaks. I would have stayed with NDNU but I moved out of the SF Bay Area. I enjoyed working with all the faculty and staff, but I especially enjoyed supporting current and future students. Though I was never a student I was impressed by the attention to furthering one's education by promoting small class sizes. What a way to feel seen and heard! Anywho, I'm rambling. If you have an opportunity to attend NDNU or work there, don't hesitate to apply. 4 stars because pay could be higher to meet cost of living in California.

((sniff sniff)) A few years ago I completed my Undergrad in Accounting & Finance here. Last December, I completed my last Graduate class. (Graduation ceremonies occur once a year in May.) NDNU is located in Belmont, surrounded by lush trees, wonderful weather, pretty animals, and even a beautiful mansion (Ralston Hall). NDNU has an extensive faculty of distinguished staff and professors with prestine wisdom and experience. The MBA program follows a stellar curriculum, applying assignments and projects to current, real world/global issues. Another great thing about NDNU is it's comprised of well diversed students with different backgrounds. Having such a diverse group enhances your education and brings more experience to the table, which is required in our global economy. Tuition at NDNU is definitely on the pricier side. However, this is a private university and it's worth it. Classes are intimate, enabling students with the luxury of a more one-on-one type of education. Students are not considered numbers here, but rather treated as well respected peers. Regarding education, you get exactly what you put into it. Each person may have their own opinion of this school, but what really matters is what you take away from what you've learned. NDNU has provided the necessary tools (ie staff, professors, and program), now it's up to each student & what they want to do with it. P.S. I am so done with writing school papers!

Like a lot of community colleges the classes start off full to the max with 30 students then dwindle down to 12 - 15 students. The campus isn't a big as other community colleges in the area like Canada college but I feel the school makes up for that with great academics. The quarter system is better, for me, then the semester system.

Nevertheless, it was easy to register despite the fairly ghetto circa 1995 looking website. The teacher is good and she challenged us to learn Korean in many ways. A nice touch was that she summarized the chapter's lessons in a 2-page handout. This was all we really needed to study for quizzes, the midterm, and the final. The parking lot is always crowded on the Middlefield Campus at 7pm on TuTh, a good sign that their classes are being filled. I'll take Korean as long as I can here. My parents and friends can see a drastic improvement in my Korean after one quarter and 3 weeks into the second quarter. It's hard to work FT in a demanding job and then take 5 hours of class with 3-6 hours of work a week, but I love that my total commute on a work+class night is still less than 20 miles.
