Foothill College is a very inexpensive (if I remember correctly, I remember the signs of FREE 2 year TOP NOTCH HIGH QUALITY) education that sets you up for success. I've attended Foothill College once to explore the options of becoming a Registered Nurse. Top quality establishment with HIGH GOLDEN Standards of diversity, equality, and inclusion. They have TAG programs/system to all of the University of California education. Recommend with the highest UTMOST regard.

School life is always full of excitement!))

There is no place better than this!!! Faculty and stuff are extremely friendly and highly educated. Going there is a true pleasure, either for studying or simply to walk around the campus. I wish I could stay there longer!!!

Ask the Community - Foothill College

Where can I study if I get there early morning before 7am?

Everything is locked at this time. You may feel free to use one of the tables by the fountain near the library. If I am right the library opens at 7.30 - 8.00, which is the best spot for studying.

I just recently graduated from Palo Alto University's M.S. in Psychology Program and all I can say…read moreare good things about this university. Programs are rigorous and focused solely on Counseling and Psychology, with bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees being offered. Yes, it is a private school and the tuition is quite high, but it is worth it, especially since it is an institution closely affiliated with Stanford University, and it is one of a few universities that offers fully online programs tailored for working professionals. In my cohort, there were students who had graduated from UCLA, UC Berkeley, and USC, so getting into the graduate programs is not easy. The quality of education and supportive faculty are comparable to none. All faculty are experts in their fields and have clinical experience, so you are not only learning about theory in your courses, but you also learn to apply those theories in a clinical setting. All professors that I had were not only clinicians, but they also conducted their own research to advance their respective areas of focus. PAU is truly a hidden gem that not many people know about. It is more on the smaller side of a typical university in the Bay Area, but this comes as a great advantage in the form of smaller class sizes, supportive and accessible faculty, a collaborative and intimate classroom experience with peers, and professors knowing each student by name. Administration and staff always seemed approachable and went out of their way to help, so I always felt supported during my studies. The campus in Palo Alto is small but beautiful and very peaceful. If you're serious about becoming a competent, compassionate mental health professional, PAU offers the foundation you need. It certainly is not easy, but it is absolutely worth it. I left feeling prepared, confident, and grateful for the experience. Thank you, PAU.

I suggest that potential students think carefully before attending Palo Alto University. There are…read moreseveral serious concerns that you should know about. For one, the tuition is very high, which can put financial pressure on students. My experience with some faculty members was disappointing. I encountered a few who treated students in a condescending way, creating a negative learning environment. My concerns were not taken seriously by the administration. Therefore, this creates an environment where disrespect is condoned. Also, I noticed unprofessional behavior from some professors, which was surprising for a graduate school. The high turnover of faculty is concerns many professors I have taken are no longer with the school. Regarding the master's program, the school claims to be inclusive. However, I don't believe they are inclusive. Some members of the graduate enrollment committee, who are current students, act in a snobbish way, creating an unfriendly atmosphere. I don't think actual students should be given so much power in the acceptance process of a graduate program. If you look up the graduate program questions, it comes across as condescending. Why should you interview so thoroughly for a program you are paying for as a student? Overall, I do not recommend PAU. There are significant issues regarding how faculty treats people. I wouldn't be surprised to receive a rude response to this review, as the school tends to be defensive and unprofessional when faced with criticism that supports my points about staff and disrespect. I've observed that they respond to reviews in an argumentative manner rather than upholding professionalism. I encourage prospective students to think carefully before making a decision.

Like a lot of community colleges the classes start off full to the max with 30 students then dwindle down to 12 - 15 students. The campus isn't a big as other community colleges in the area like Canada college but I feel the school makes up for that with great academics. The quarter system is better, for me, then the semester system.

Nevertheless, it was easy to register despite the fairly ghetto circa 1995 looking website. The teacher is good and she challenged us to learn Korean in many ways. A nice touch was that she summarized the chapter's lessons in a 2-page handout. This was all we really needed to study for quizzes, the midterm, and the final. The parking lot is always crowded on the Middlefield Campus at 7pm on TuTh, a good sign that their classes are being filled. I'll take Korean as long as I can here. My parents and friends can see a drastic improvement in my Korean after one quarter and 3 weeks into the second quarter. It's hard to work FT in a demanding job and then take 5 hours of class with 3-6 hours of work a week, but I love that my total commute on a work+class night is still less than 20 miles.

The 1 hour program was good, but I felt the introduction video, with "Luna the moth", wasn't age appropriate for our kids. It felt too babyish and they weren't interested in that part. The rest of the program was great, and it kept their attention throughout the rest of the program. I think also more interactive content would be helpful, instead of the kids staring up at a screen for 1 hour. Also not being able to record our field trip inside was a bummer, so we don't have any evidence of what we saw. The professors were super nice and wanted you to pass your classes. Coming in, I thought De Anza would be super easy and I wouldn't have to put in any effort; I was somewhat right and wrong. Some of the classes were easy and fun; with only 20-30 students in a class, the classes were more intimate than bigger CSU or UC classes. Some of the classes were legitimately difficult, but they were passable if you really put your mind to it. The food in the cafeteria and cafe were affordable and delicious. I loved the sandwiches, coffee, and instant ramen. Parking is bad in the morning-afternoon, but empties out around late afternoon. Traffic on 85 is bad around 3pm though so I personally liked going to evening classes. Anytime…read moresomeone puts up a review, they use their contacts at Yelp (Wink Wink : Jeremy - Elon - Adeio part of PayPal) to remove the post. You have to come to this conclusion because every single time anyone has attempted to put a review up, Yelp has been taken down within minutes / days. That does not strike anyone as bizarre ? Ya. Its bizarre. And its Tell Tale of an organization that has more in common with the culture of Scientology than with a open and free society, where people can speak their mind about their experiences. The experiences here are that : A) FI is more or less Shark Tank where you pitch your startup to the room full of fellow students and invited guests for a review. B) ZERO guidance and assistance from FI with regards to your project. "You guys are really teaching each other" is the answer where you're put into teams of 4 or 5 where your colleagues vote you down and out in a Survivor like fashion. Most of them are not there to help. And even if they wanna, they are not qualified to. C) That bring some to point C. Qualified. Ever look into those who run the operation ? The folks overseeing other startups dont really have startups of their own. None that anyone has ever heard of. D) that brings me to point D Most of the "Speakers" who come to speak and review your work live on the cross streets of WHO + Never Heard of em. Or Glory Days of Yesteryear who manage to put up a highly disposable "Lecture" to the class that can be found virtually anywhere. FI founder can be credited with finding Gas Lighters who Gas Light FI participants into stages of (1) Welcome All (Take your money) (2) Artificial hurdle presentations (Designed to push all bout 5 participants out). In fact administrators complain that Head Quarters brings pressure to push everyone out except 5 participants. They know they want 5 and only will push through 5 but will take as many foolish enough to sign up, not knowing of the highly Toxic / Unfriendly / Gas Lighting tactics in play by FI. False Claims. FI claims of its founders finding billions of dollars is false. You have a couple that succeeded by copying others. We call these "Me Too" companies. Which is what they're looking for. "Me Too" companies that can copy others and make some money. Long and short of it is that FI materials and methods are Toxic, Unfriendly, deceptive at the onset, and designed to take your money and leave 5 standing in a Survivor fashion, while they offer ZERO in terms of guidance, assistance other than having other applicants (Attempt) to help one another in groups they put you into. FI is a half assed program with Gas Lighters as administrators who will not shy away from using their contacts to delete all posts that point them to be highly toxic, disposable advice, Shark Tank wanna be institute, in need of expose by 60 Minutes.

TL;DR- Version: (That's too long didn't read for non techies): This is not the same school I signed…read moreup for in 2013 but after 3+ years of turmoil the school is re-emerging into greatness. This last seminar I got a sneak peak at the new curriculum, website, and operational changes that are in final stages of implementation. The broken systems that plagued the registrar are actually fixed, the curriculum is on par with other schools and not so hippie slanted that it's hard to connect to mainstream psychology. And I no longer feel any anxiety about the school's future; rather I feel great hope and excitement. I almost wish I were now signing up for the Ph.D. for the first time. However I would have missed the great struggle that helped forge me into the confident Ph.D. candidate that I am. If you are considering this school talk to admissions and ask them to give you some current students contact info to hear their thoughts. Heck even ask for my info David Anderson and I'll answer any question, thought or concern with compassionate candor. ----- THE WHOLE (Abridged For Internet Story) I have been attending Sofia University since Fall of 2013, before the collapse. I chose to stay in the Ph.D. in Psychology program because my gut told me that my voice as a student would help ensure that the school recover and offer education that would both benefit students and the world. I want to candidly share my experience about the Ph.D. program from start to finish during this transition and provide my view of where the school is now, and why I believe it is a renewed beacon of light in Silicon Valley...and the world. First let me address the negative reviews here. There are a lot of hurt feelings and valid complaints about what happened at Sofia, but now in the Spring Quarter of 2017 I can say that the ship has been fully righted and is in a far better place then it EVER was in my previous experience (starting September 2013). When I first enrolled in the Global Ph.D. the curriculum was fixed and there were no electives. My admissions advisor failed to mention this, but after seminar and my first quarter I resigned and accepted this as a compromise for the transpersonal interactions. After the school began it's turbulent time the curriculum changed, beloved teachers, and chair struggled to serve as an administrator. To his credit, his gift was leading in a time of peace, not change. I found the new core and concentration options exciting so I chose to stay with the school to support, and hold it accountable to the quality of education I demanded. The next year or two were rocky to say the least, and found myself playing ambassador advocate fighting for my education. This process was riddled with drama and growing pains with program implementation and sustainability. I can happy say the new curriculum in the Ph.D. program is the program I wanted before I started at Sofia. It puts the school on par with other programs with tuition, curriculum requirements, and still and offers the opportunity to study what you want to study. I believe there will continue to be minor growing pains, but with the new student senate, Liz Li's compassionate ear, and the highly accomplished Ph.D. program Chair Marilyn Schlitz the ship of Sofia is back on course and gaining speed. Additionally, there will be opportunities to take classes across programs to support your career goals such as coding, business, and education. Reality Check: As I write this the new website, tuition and curriculum changes have not yet been published. The new operations officer made the wise decision to get rid of the problematic systems and bring in proven systems that are simpler and more reliable. The school is not the old ITP, which to me is a good thing, it felt far to patriarchal and a bit chauvinistic. ....more cut off by word limit... To those who are no longer here: In the process that got the school the place it is today we lost a lot of great students, wonderful faculty, staff, and chairs. They are not forgotten and are missed. Should you enroll at the Sofia University, USA that we are today? - I would say yes. The MATP program is as strong as it ever has been, the PH.D. program is great and continuing to get better and more interesting every quarter. - MBA, CS: These are mostly newer programs but the vision and curriculum seem really solid. I was actually considering both the MBA and CS program in data science before I realized that I needed to finish my Ph.D., and work for a while before doing another graduate program. - Transpersonal Technology Lab: This is a hidden GEM! I have a study already planned after graduation using things I learned from Dr. Jeffery Martin who heads up that space. - Flexibility: The global programs and seminars are like no other, you can work, develop great relationships in school, and get an advanced degree in a field you've always wanted to study.

I'm in the process of applying to ITP so I called yesterday and spoke with admissions. We had a…read moregood conversation and since the application process at ITP is new to me, I called back twice with additional questions with the span of an hour or so. The first time was fine, but on the second call, when I announced myself, the admissions person paused and said curtly, "yes." "Yes"?? No "hi" or other greeting, simply a you-are-bothering-me "yes"? I asked my question and hung up feeling a bit put off. Is this the type of attitude I will encounter at this very small school when I am a student there? Okay, maybe it was a fluke, maybe I caught the admissions person at a bad time, I gave her the benefit of the doubt. One of the transcripts I was having sent electronically bounced back from the e-mail the admissions person had given me. This according to the friendly admissions and records person at the very large university I had previously attended. The friendly woman in the large university's records department called me to get a new e-mail address for ITP admissions. So today I called the admissions woman (the first time today) and greeted her, telling her who I was. There was a pause on the other end of the line and curt, "yes." I took a deep breath, my excitement in the application process seriously waning and asked her if I was bothering her. Short pause. "No!" she said, suddenly friendly and helpful. What was that about? I truly have misgivings about ITP if their admissions personnel are so unwelcoming, so put-out when I call to ask questions. Is this the attitude ITP has toward potential students? After all, isn't the admissions department the face of the school for new students? I know we're all busy, but I was treated with courtesy and friendliness by a woman who works in the records department of the 30,000+ student university I previously attended, why is it that I was treated with annoyance by the admissions department of a small school to which I am applying to spend $26K per year in tuition and fees?
