I awoke one morning last September with a sizable style in my lower right eyelid. It was tough to see and oh, so attractive. Our Ophthalmologist in Manhattan retired in 2021 and I hadn't yet found his replacement. I asked the friendly staff at MK Vision Center, where I buy all of my eyeglasses for a recommendation: Dr. Singh at Downtown! My first visit at Downtown went well and Dr. Singh diagnosed me with Angle Closure Glaucoma. He told me about Glaucoma, how I could have an attack, and why it could cost me my eyesight (damage is irreversible). He recommended the laser procedure, I thought about it and decided to go for it. I just had Laser Iridotomy on my right eye this morning and I am surprised and pleased at how wonderful I am seeing and feeling right now. I intend to have my left eye operated on next week and look forward to continuing to develop a relationship with Dr. Singh and his staff. GO!

Dr. Siu was very friendly and detailed in explaining my issue, what could have caused it and what she recommends I do to correct and maintain the health of my eye going forward. I felt very comforted by her assessment and recommendations. The billing for the services was a little bit confusing. I have a high-deductible insurance plan so I was aware that I would be paying a decent amount to satisfy my deductible but the staff phrased it in such an odd way. They told me it would be a $300 deposit and if my insurance ended up covering some then they would refund me and if it ended up costing more they would bill me. They repeated this to me even after I was done with my eye exam. This was odd because they should know what services were provided during my visit and how much it could cost and despite trying to get clarification they continued to speak in a cryptic way suggesting it could be less, it could be more, who knows? I understand that insurance is complex and things may or may not be covered for whatever reason but providing the patient with a general range of what things may cost should be a base line expectation in my opinion. I visited in March and I had to call in May to receive the refund of the excess of my initial deposit despite the explanation of benefits being available in early April. If you do pay the deposit here make sure you are doing your due diligence with your insurance.

And the wait wasn't that bad. My first time it was so busy one of the nurses took me into a treatment room, or some sort of workspace (it was a few years back) so I could sit and be comfortable, being that it was SRO (standing room only!). He was also able to diagnose something in both of my eyes that other Ophthalmologists couldn't. And he gave me a prescription for glasses (I used to have perfect vision) which the other doctors felt I didn't need but I was getting headaches and having trouble driving. He really knows his stuff and is very intuitive and is really very nice to deal with. If I had a dollar for every arrogant doctor I have come across I could retire!!!!! I signed in at the Tangram security desk for my 4:30 pm appointment. I arrived an hour early to complete the paperwork then I paid for the office visit deposit. The ophthalmic medical assistants brought me into different exam rooms while lubricating my eyes. Dr. Ky informed me about migraine headaches due to my dry eyes. Immediately, the Clear Eyes commercial popped into my head. He measured my eyes and wrote me a new prescription. My dilated pupils were going to wear off in 3-4 hours. OMG, I was freaking out.
