We were especially pleased by how much was included in the venue package that we didn't have to coordinate separately, like lighting, tables, and chairs. Shaye was an absolute delight to work with and we always felt cared for. As a queer couple, it was so nice to feel welcomed and accepted by Scribner Bend and all of their preferred vendors we spoke with. May was the perfect time to be there, the white roses on the arches were in bloom which complemented the rest of our florals beautifully. Our whole day flowed so smoothly thanks to Deija, our day-of planner provided by Scribner Bend, and all of the rest of the staff. All of our guests were so complimentary of the wine, the setting, and the flow of the evening. We really could not have wished for a better venue experience. We also want to note, Paesanos was an exceptional caterer! I know some might be concerned with not having a choice of caterer but we found it to be a relief (one less vendor to coordinate) and Paesanos did a fantastic job. She provided the venue and organized our dinner event. I cannot describe how wonderful the foods were - all of the dishes - every ingredient - so good, and as we learned from Scott, the chef, also good for us. My husband said it was an experience he will never forget - the food, the atmosphere, the conversation, the wonderful atmosphere, and the people. And he never says stuff like that! The whole experience was completely different from a regular restaurant experience, and I just can't tell you how wonderful it all was. I felt like we were all rock stars or something. We planned everything from NYC where we live. They answered all of our questions super promptly via email and were so great to work with, planning wise. They were flexible about when we could drop stuff off and assisted us with carts for loading, unloading etc. They even had someone come in on a holiday (Labor Day) to open the place and let us clean up, because it would have been difficult for us to do it on the day we had previously arranged. A+ for service! We held our ceremony in the smaller of the two big rooms and the reception in the larger. We had a massive curtain made that was pinned up between the two rooms, to divide the space. This worked ok, though we could have executed it a little better. (Did I mention we planned the wedding from NYC and had friends and family set everything up? LOL). As a music venue it's great with modern design and acoustics. However, as someone who lives in the…read moreneighborhood, the theater has created more noise, parking issues, and trash (e.g. empty alcohol bottles from their patrons left on our lawns, as well as cigarette butts, wristbands etc). They also seemed to have stopped some of the earlier efforts to encourage non-automobile transportation (like the SABA-sponsored bike parking). I've attended a show here early on when it opened and parked my bike, but have not seen any more bike parking efforts. I wish the theater would do more to **clean up after themselves** or their guests for the neighborhood (such as a courtesy pick of the associated trash in a one block vicinity after a show). The additional trash, noise, and parking issues are a DIRECT result of the venue (not here before it existed) and Channel 24 showing some effort or courtesy for the neighborhood would be welcome. There are other reviews here about the parking issue and Reddit posts about the lack of neighborliness.

Silt Wine Company continues to be one of our favorite wineries in the region, and this is an…read moreupdated review based on our experience as long-time wine club members and frequent visitors. We receive quarterly shipments and visit regularly for tastings or a glass of wine, particularly during the summer and fall. The wine itself is consistently very good, especially the red wines. Their red blends are a real strength--the BDX blend is a great example and one we return to often. We also appreciate the inclusion of less common varietals, such as Teroldego, which has become one of our favorites. Many of the wines lean toward Spanish varietals, which makes sense given the Clarksburg AVA and helps distinguish Silt from more conventional tasting rooms. That said, they also offer a solid lineup of white and sparkling wines. While I'm not typically much of a white-wine drinker, their whites are often floral, complex, and refreshing without being overly sweet. I frequently enjoy them on site--especially during warm weather and when using my complimentary tastings as a wine club member. The sparkling wines are also well done and fit the setting nicely. The tasting experience itself is relaxed and well paced. Like many wineries today, service is brought directly to your table rather than handled at a traditional wine bar, which works especially well here. Staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly without being intrusive. As regulars, we're often recognized when we arrive--particularly my partner, who is far more outgoing than I am--which adds to the welcoming, community feel. The tasting room is housed in a historic, refurbished barn set among vineyards and adjacent to a slough. One side is framed by large heritage trees, the other by open vineyard views. It's a beautiful setting, though naturally open to the elements. The facilities are thoughtfully designed, with a variety of seating options including high tables, low tables, and couches. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. In warmer months, swamp coolers help keep the barn comfortable, and in cooler weather, heat lamps are available. During summer, mosquitoes can be present given the proximity to the slough, but insect repellent is provided. They regularly host live music events, where wine can be purchased by the glass or bottle, and food trucks are often available. These events feel lively and social without becoming crowded or chaotic. This winery was formerly Wilson Family Winery, which was successful in its own right, and the current iteration has clearly built on that foundation. We've visited many wineries over the years and consider ourselves fairly serious wine enthusiasts, and in our opinion, Silt Wine Company stands out as one of the best wineries in Clarksburg and even beyond the immediate region. It's a genuine gem and one we're always happy to return to.
