I strongly recommend these guys over Home Depot and Lowe's. Their staff knows their stuff. They're actually willing to help. They have customer service. They have human cashiers, not just robots. You get a good deal on all the stuff, it's cost competitive. They have most of the stuff you would need. They're not anti-human. They are local. Personally speaking I get all of my construction, Home upgrade, and gaming snacks at Menards. (It's a better deal than Kroger or Meijer for some of those. Walmart got rid of customer service a long time ago, they just go to the lowest common denominator for their day-to-day floor staff, they just grind those folks to dust. I don't usually order online from an online and in house retailers but I went ahead and paid for 3 items totalling $50. I received an email notifying my order was ready. Upon arrival at the Troy, Ohio location I was looking for a parking spot for online orders. Don't waste your time looking because there is no such thing. After asking an in store employee where the order pickup was . I then was instructed to the farthest area of the store. I frequent the Tipp City Ohio store. Your stores are the best. However, I am an 80 year old handicapped shopper. I understand that Menards will only allocate 2 powered carts available for handicapped shoppers. The Tipp City store only has one cart available currently. With all the money that Menards spends on TV adds, promotions at Nascar and other venues, it is absolutely embarrassing to only have 1 or 2 handicapped carts available. The amount of money that older citizens and handicapped people spend is a lot. We have millions and millions of dollars available to spend if we can get into you stores. Wake up. I stopped at Menards for a couple things today. I've shopped here a hundred times and from my perspective this is a great place for construction materials. 2x4s, plywood, sheet rock, mud & tape, trim, wiring, electrical boxes, GFIthe list goes on & on. They have a great selection of quality tools too at very good prices. I always check out the clearance shelves, I got my Rockwell cordless drill this way. If your looking for a place to get the building materials head to Menards. If your after upscale sinks, expensive lights, custom made doors, best go elsewhere. read more

Discrimination against disabled veterans. Veteran offered medical documentation to support not wearing a face mask and was told could not do business in the store. Had an issue with rebates got the runaround from the third-party company they would not answer my question for over a month. Called the store talk to the manager would not give me anyone at Corporate to talk to said that they handle things at the store level. However they blamed everything on the third-party company. All I wanted was the 11% rebate that Menards advertises. This took days and hours of my time. In my opinion Menards corporate offices do not want to deal directly with customers that spend their hard earned money at their locations. Issue is resolved however it took a long time. I looked at the Better Business Bureau and I'm not the only one has had issues with this rebate system. My recommendation is not to go there and use their services. On my way to pick up some stain for the new pergola this morning, we got no attention at the paint/ stain aisle for good 15-20 mins. It was only me and my brother were at the aisle by ourselves and their two associates were talking at the counter. I finally came up to the counter and asked for help. He did hand us the bifold selection and LITERALLY walked away. Since we already picked out what we wanted before we asked for help, I came back to the counter after 30 seconds "talking" to him. And again, no Attentions and walked away! I was so disappointed to came in and be treated like that! read more

Wife and I go into the garden side for some items, we get what we need, 2 carts, I pay the bill, when we get home, the wife tells me the 2 pairs of gloves and small shovel must have gotten left behind, no issues, I call, they tell me to come up and they will review the video, because I'm sure people try to scam them. I go into the main entrance talk to the guy at the counter, he tells me they may have my stuff in a bag in the garden center, and I should check there first, I tell him ok, he tries to sell me a ask, I tell him I'll just walk down the front into the garden center, he wishes me luck... little did I know I was walking into a hornets nest, I walk into the garden center(no signage about masks), the cashier is just finishing with a customer, I have my receipt in hand, before I an complete a sentence asking about my merchandise, she loses her $hit, carrying on about a mask, I tried to explain I was sent there by the front counter, no avail, she said she couldn't talk to me, waving her hands hysterically saying I have to go to the service desk to review the video. So...... service desk Wasn't stoked I don't have a mask, I tell them why I'm there, tattoo girl with 1 whole sleeve and a bunch of other misc crap painted on, takes my receipt and disappears, come back and tell me that we did buy our stuff, cashier didn't give it to us, but mustered up enough energy to give our purchase to the people behind us in line, how thoughtful..... tattoo girl tells me I can go get replacement product but I have to wear a mask, I tell her I didn't bring one. Then she tells me I will have to buy one! For their screw up, I have to make a trip back, go through verification that I'm not trying to take advantage of the for $17, when my initial bill was over $400, great scam I have going on? I take a pass, told her I'm not buying anything and I sure didn't appreciate her sales clerk going into full bitch mode over a question when I was sent there. At this point she tells me I am cussing and I can't do that making references to her team member, I told her if she hadn't have acted as one, I wouldn't have made the reference. I am pretty certain worse words have come from her tongue. Yet, I, the customer who got dicked by her employee am the bad guy. $17, I don't care, I have spent over 20k in the last 3 years at that store remodeling 2 homes, that $17 cost them any future sales, I'm done, not going back. Menards, if you read these, masks won't prevent Covid-19, the guy who was at the front door, dressed in black wearing "agent" across his shirt, won't stop Covid, and honestly looked like an antifa member, if the mask is the rule, then great, keep alienating your customers, I'll shop where the employees aren't in fear, enjoy your business and the $17 you nicked me for. read more

Overall, I like Menards. I went there to get some ideas and to see what was available for flooring, amongst other things. I spent a good amount of time looking at carpet, vinyl flooring, tiles, etc. During that time, not one person offered to help me. No one just simply asked the question, "Can I help you?" There was a young guy working the department and pretty much ignored me. When I did ask him to help me, he was like a cold fish. There was no emotion or offer to assist. It was like talking to a wall. There was definitely something wrong with him and/or this guy had very little people skills, which, of course, is not good for customer service. read more

4-5 star pricing, 0-1 star customer service. Struggling to rate 3 stars overall. I asked three different clerks for a lighting product that may or may not be seasonal. Was told to check the center of the store near hardware. When I inquired for a more specific location, I was told "around that area - near the mezzanine." When asking the gentlemen in the lawn furniture area below the mezzanine about this product I was told I could "look around in the back section on the second floor/mezzanine as they may have something there. Or it may have been boxed up and packed away." Well, I didn't feel like "looking around" for my product though that is what I did. I wanted someone to say whether it's something they either do or do not carry at the moment. And how about checking on it with someone who may know, a computer/inventory system, another coworker - anyone?? Not my first time being unimpressed with the staff/service at this store. But haven't been in there for awhile so I forgot how unfriendly and unhelpful this store can be. I greatly prefer Lowes or Home Depot over the Tipp City, Ohio, Menards. read more

I submitted an order for an appliance and was told it would be delivered in a few days; however, when the order was placed, a different delivery date was shown. Upon noticing the discrepancy, I called the store to cancel my order and was told it would be refunded. After checking the order status for 24 hours, it still showed as processing. As a result, I called the store the next day to confirm the status and to make sure the item was refunded. Upon doing so, I was assured by an employee the item was refunded. I then asked the employee about another item and was told she would have to transfer me to that department to check if it was available. After being transferred to the department and relaying my question to the employee, the employee refused to look up the item saying that they were all out of stock despite what I saw online. As I tried to understand why the website showed different information, the employee repeatedly berated me. She finally agreed to look up the item number and told me, "like I said, it's not available." Despite her rudeness, I continued to thank her for taking the time to look up the item and provide guidance on how their website projects shipping. The employee replied, "that if I would've listened to her guidance the first time," that I wouldn't have had any other questions. At that point, I informed the employee that I was sorry for any inconvenience but that she was being unprofessional. I also mentioned that I had been trying to call today but did not have any luck getting through, and the employee responded by saying, "I'm sorry you didn't have to work today." At that point, I informed the employee that was not necessary as I just got off of work, which she scoffed at and told me the item I was inquiring about was not essential and proceeded to hang up on me. My first thought was that the store would not be open if their items were not deemed essential. I called and reported the employee's behavior to a manager who apologized for the behavior and recommended I speak to the General Manager. Unfortunately, the General Manager was not helpful and seemed as though he was in a rush. I will not spend my money at Menards ever again read more

In some ways, Menards Tipp City, Ohio location deserves a better rating than I gave them. They carry a nice line of products and many of them are cheaper than I've found elsewhere. In addition, though I didn't deal with more than just the one person, she seemed friendly and willing to help within the limits of what the stores operating procedures are. Now, onto the things I'd suggest they consider doing differently: Unless Menards prefers to deal strictly with experienced contractors they need to have someone that can help first time DIYers figure out all their needs (like Lowes and Home Depot both have). I was caught completely off guard when all the woman could do for me was point to a computer with a limited design application to calculate my needs. My other issue is with the delivery. We were supposed to be called 30 minutes ahead, never happened ... and they never knocked on the door either despite my truck in the driveway ... instead they just picked an easy spot and left 27 - 12' and 8 - 8' pieces of composite decking right in front of my wifes garage door. I've owned and operated a service business for 32 years and I know the signs of lazy employees when I see them. The no call, no knock was undoubtedly intentional to ensure they could deliver to the easiest spot available and they worked very quietly too. We discovered the issue when my wife, who was heading out to an appointment with no time to spare, found she'd been blocked in by the delivery. Both of us with bad backs, we had no option but to hurriedly move the pile. This delivery was made sometime in the a.m. of August 18, 2020 ... with that and the items delivered there should be no trouble finding out who delivered it ... I suggest someone do something about it ... there are people out there much more willing to work. read more

I live 1.15 miles from a Menards location in Tipp City, OH and have frequented this location for nearly 4 years with continued frustration. The last straw... what retail outlet waits to have 0 of an item before they order more of anything?!?! Paint, light fixtures, screws, plants, windows! these are the common "in stock" items I have gone in to purchase and nope... And to top it off their "customer service" number simply is an automated system to instruct you to mail a letter or fill out a form at your local store, not even an option to speak with a live person or a hope the issue will be fixed. I will drive the extra 10 miles to Lowes right past this store for materials to complete the renovations on my home. read more

Rip off store. Unsafe aisles, rarely sales help available, junk quality items, inane jingle music blasting constantly, rude management, refunds nearly impossible to get, misleading sale posters. You name it, if it's unethical, rude, or your basic rip off scheme, they engage in it. I've lived here since before this store was built and had more bad experiences than good ones. Their plants are always half dead during the growing season, their tools are over priced and poor quality, and their food items are often outdated and just gross. They sell milk and dairy but do not keep their coolers at the correct temperature. So following safety guidelines is obviously not a priority for them. If you choose to shop there, be careful about EVERYTHING you pick up. You DO NOT want to go through their exchange/refund hassle. read more

Most in store is Awesome. Go some where else for Cabinets. Any real project actually Its a bad sign when the store does no installing for itself. There just a store that rakes in money. I bought custom cabinets was talked into something else. Those cabinets came in on time 4 weeks. First of all, cabinets were not what I thought I was getting. Then to top it all off 5 of 20 piecslights slightly damaged. So I had to evaluate if damage would be noticed and if not reorder new one wait and then I have to bring backhand pick up new in 4 more weeks. Then I was told nothing I can do you signed the contract, like 5-6 timI ask to see manager he was a corporate sponge. All levels of employees were beyond unprofessional. No moral or customer appreciation by Menards. This was my favorite store. They lost a customer for life for sure. read more

Piss poor customer service. We inquired on having a shipment of river pebble sent from this store. The clerk acted as if we ruined his evening with our inquiry. He gave us a price but wouldn't look to see if another Menards would be closer to our house or if they had the large amount we wanted in stock. We traveled to another store which was closer to our house but they didn't have the quantity we needed. We ended up calling the Tipp City location to voice our displeasure with our experience. The clerk on the phone was very nice and offered to meet the cost of shipping that the closer store would have given. Everything was fine until the clerks offer wasn't approved by the store manager. They lost a $500 sale because they couldn't part with $30. The manager didn't even have the balls to call us himself. They have lost all of my future business. I can only imagine how much they will lose from us, our friend and everyone else we discuss this with. Shame on you Tipp City! read more
