Menards sent the wrong mastic for our project. Our contractor installed and asked who said to use this? He had not used it before. I said menards provided with our very expensive porch. The manager Dan will not communicate and will not show up to receive the order for small claims. We are falling of deaf ears. Terrible service .... research anything they give you because you are on your own with ANY project. We have spent so much money with updating our home to fall on deaf ears to fix the mastic issues they created... they provided indoor only that will all fall off in Nebraska weather. Negative stars for worse customer service I've ever seen in retail. Needed a dishwasher immediately since we had company coming into town. Purchased one, got it home and big surprise huge dent in the back of it. Since we were out of time and completely put out having to race back to the store the next day, we had to purchase two more just so we could get at least one undamaged dishwasher... ridiculous. Their joke of a manager never even apologized. We recently had a freezer go out, guess where we didn't get a new one at....best to drive to the next town over if you need new appliances. Ordered carpet from Menards and was sent the wrong carpet but was packaged and labeled as the correct carpet that i ordered. I paid my contractor to install it and got home after work and noticed it was not the carpet we ordered they sent us kingsfield gray instead of brown. I never noticed it because the carpet was rolled up and packaged in plastic surrand wrap. I sent all the proof to corporate with the carpet sample we ordered along with a piece of the carpet they sent me which was wrong and simply asked for a refund since the carpet was already installed and they were the ones to mess to mess up my order. I got told to uninstall my carpet from my stairs and they will send the correct carpet. I've also spent over 5k in the store in the past two months buying siding, shingles, windows ect. They obviously don't take care about the small guy. I would not recommend buying any flooring from menards. read more

Everything is difficult to find, staff are not helpful and customer service is TERRIBLE! Rude, talk about you during returns like you aren't there and you will never get your money back- just store credit. I will not shop here unless I have NO OTHER options. THE WORST! read more

I have been going to Menards my entire life, and honestly it is alright. Yes, they have a pretty good selection, prices are decent and everyone loves those rebates. Sometimes when we go in there we have a good experience and the employees are great and other times you cannot find one no matter how hard you look. Monday night we went in there looking for a patio set. We finally decided on one, and for the life of us we couldn't find an employee. By the time we finally found on to help us, he had to go get someone else to help us. At this point, we just wanted to buy the set and get out. We finally got it taken care of and planned on taking home 4/6 of the chairs for our set. We paid and had to wait for them to bring the chairs down, which thankfully didn't take to long. We informed them that I would be back with a bigger vehicle the next day to get the table and last 2 chairs. The lady informed me that she would be there Tuesday and she would have everything pulled and ready for me if I called ahead of time. I called Tuesday a HOUR before to let her know, that hey I will be there in an hour to pick up the furniture. She said she would make sure to have it downstairs and in the dock ready for me. I was pleased with this, because I was hoping to get it and get home. When I got there I went back and the gentleman went to go look for it. 25 minutes late I'm standing there still waiting, and another gentleman comes and asks if I am being helped. I let him know I'm still waiting on a guy that was supposed to go get it. He comes back and informs me that they are still pulling it all down. At this point I am irritated, because twice I was promised that the set would be ready to go and have already been pulled down. By the time they finally got it down they had brought everything down, including the 4 chairs I had already brought home. I had explained to him before he went to go get it that I had already had them and only needed 2. Normally I would have just brushed it off, but no one seemed to know what as going on, and waiting that long, when it was supposed to be ready just wasn't good customer service. Especially when I called to give them plenty of time. All in all, will I still shop at Menards, yes. I don't really have to many options do I. Do they tend to irritate me every time I go in there with poor customer service, and not so pleasant employees, yes. You do get some good ones, but most of the time no. Menards has great selection, decent prices, rebates and good variety on all items. They need a little work on their customer service, but for now I'll still continue going there. read more

This place reminds me of Home Depot since it's the only hardware store available I'm aware of at this Town. Service is A-Ok and so are the price. Employees-not very friendly. read more

I used to work at menards in norfolk and north platte. I have to say the reason why people work the way they do is because of how the managers come down on the team members and how the lack of communication there is between managers and departments and the lack of respect there is. The issues I had I went to my "chain of command" i guess you could say and when nothing got done i took it straight to cooperate and nothing got done there either so that tells you how well Mr. Menards people work to keep his company going. He either doesn't know or he has lost touch of how big Menards has gotten. Christmas comes at least a wk early every year and they tore down main aisle hardware aisles just to make it so kids could yell and scream at their parents "I want toys" because thats the first thing they see. Safety doesn't exist at either menards they just drive like crazy with their fork lifts around the store and the joe's and tear down aisles with out any kind of harness or safety they just tip them over and tear them apart. Its retail and all about making an easy buck. Yes they have a good selection of items but when Menards was started it was a simple hardware store now its like they are turning into a retail, holiday, furniture store where contractors come in for a 30min shop and spend an hour trying to find the stuff that was just there 3 days ago. This store does not answer their phone....I rang every department. I will drive to Yankton where the employees are courteous and friendly.
