Menard's is one of my favorite places to shop. They have, literally, everything. Electronicals? Check. Dog food? Check. Frozen pizza? Check. Household cleansers? Check. Refrigerators? Check. Lumber? Check. Christmas trees? Check. You get the point. It's ALL there. There are even items we find at Menard's that we can't find elsewhere (our favorite dog treats we can only find here.) (That is to say, our DOG'S favorite dog treats we can only find here. We don't eat them, that would be weird.) This store is massive and it's easy to get turned around in the center aisles. The garden center is outstanding during garden center season, and we bought 6 crepe myrtles there which are thriving in our back yard. The staff has always been helpful and I think everybody that works there knows where just about everything is. More often than not they'll take you to what you're looking for instead of casually waving you in the direction you need to go. They almost always have a 11% rebate offer going on, which is great when you go back. Heck, they even have the rebate forms right there at the checkout to make it easy for you. Fill out the form, mail it in with a copy of your receipt, and in a couple weeks you get a rebate form that you'll turn right around and spend in their store. Speaking of money (which we only marginally were), the prices at Menard's a pretty frikkin' reasonable. Like any merchant, prices can be higher or lower on various items, but we find that the prices here are generally lower than other hardware/building supply/general merchandise locations. My only real complaint is that they can be slow to realize that the need to open more registers. On our last visit there were two registers open and the lines were literally 12 to 15 customers deep (I counted). It made me wonder if I was at Walmart or if I was at Menard's. That tends to be the exception and not the rule, so don't that dissuade you from shopping there. If you haven't been to Menard's it's time to give it a try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Ordered new front door with no deadlock. Door and casing arrived and was installed by contractor. Upon visual inspection, I noticed hole in casing for deadbolt. Emailed pics to Menards and they ordered correct casing. Problem is, I have to eat $300 removal and install on new door casing. Person I spoke with, after a long hold on phone, said they might cover $50 of that. Not what I ordered but yet pay the price for supplier mishandling. read more

This review is bittersweet as I have been a faithful Menard's shopper for years. Lowe's and Menard's are minutes away from each other and the people around here are usually loyal to one or the other. My twin girls practically grew up there--they remember the outdoor plastic play displays when they were little and, now teenagers, they still love the holiday displays and lighting section! The Menard's song was one of those mindless tunes we would sing. All that to say my loyalty to Menard's ran DEEP. I am quite forgiving and can overlook a lot but this last treatment made me realize their loyalty to ME runs SHALLOW. Menards--I bought a tub faucet with missing parts. Fine..I'll run back and let you know and you will give me the missing piece. The 1st tub I brought home had a scratch through the blue protective coating, which I noticed when I unboxed, so again, Fine...I returned and got another. Then the 2nd tub I brought home had in-tact protective blue plastic coating and should have been fine, BUT...after complete installation...and the final unveiling that we all look forward to when we remove the blue "plastic wrap" (yes, this is my third bathroom remodel and all products from Menards) the tub surface was absolutely scratched/bubbled/bad! This is such a disappointment after the hours of work and installation--think about that... I admit I wanted you to come to my home and do the replacement. I did it the first time and it was your bad product that is making my face a second installation. I admit I expected you to help in some way--something, even if small. You said you could do nothing. No recompense for trouble. No discount. Nothing. You said you can't control your product?? But I think that is EXACTLY what you are there to do. And... it turns out that is exactly what Lowe's does. I will miss the song, and the green, and the bags, and knowing where everything is but I have to choose the one that will treat me better. Jeez. I sound like I am breaking up with a long-time boyfriend (that I thought was good to me) because he beat me up. Honestly, I guess I feel that way. And I am not that girl who waits to see if i will get beat up a second time. read more

I've been a frequent customer for years. Overall I really like Menards Illinois Road. Most of my projects are smaller in nature and I like the atmosphere Menards has. The parking lot and store are usually clean. The staff are nice and helpful. It's usually one of those situations you pass 5 employees when you don't need help, and spend 5 minutes trying to find someone when you do! Probably 1/3rd of the time, I cannot find everything I need at Menards and may need to go elsewhere. Also I have had times where the online stock levels do not match what the store physically has. But overall I enjoy purchasing my home supplies from there and will continue to be a customer for the foreseeable future. read more

I visited the Illinois Rd. location to exchange paint from a different location after discovering it had gone bad somehow. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful and exchanged for 2 new cans of paint. Thank you! read more

I went to Menards on 3/25/2021 ,purchased a water heater , garage door opener, and new garage door. Was told all items where in stock. Ordered delivery of these items. All was paid in full, for a total of$1635.33. to be delivered on 3/30/2021. Received a phone call on 3/29/2021 that delivery would be postponed until 3/31/2021. Because garage door did not come in. "all items in stock". Waited all day for delivery , never received items or phone call to explain. I then went to the store to find out what happened , was told garage door was over sold "in stock". I just went to Menard's Fort Wayne West store and was rudely yelled at as soon as I walked in that "masks are mandatory to shop." This is the only place I have been during the whole COVID-19 breakout where I was made to feel unwelcome unless I complied with their ridiculous standards. Not only did I tell them I'll be going somewhere that wants my business, but I will never shop here again. This is an absolutely unacceptable way to treat customers. read more

A big 'atta girl' for Georgette who waited on us 1.15.15 at 2PM. We had a huge am't in our cart(s), including a lot of food, she rang it all up while my hubby put sacks in his cart & I was behind sitting in the electric cart (thanks so much for those, too) and when she went to get a total, said her computer froze up. Yikes..! So my hubby had to hand her back ALL of the sacks to be rung up again. However, Georgette was very fast & efficient in doing this as well as offering an apology to us more than once. I know it was not her fault. She needs to be commended for doing such a great job. Our total was 148.14 with 86 items rung up. No small number, right..?? I seriously doubt if you have another emp that could have processed all of this as fast as she did. Give her our thanks, too. read more
