This location is great as it's located around many of the shops in Southwest Fort Wayne. I find that it's difficult to get assistance when shopping as it's hard to locate crew members. They do have some clearance items, but you really do have to hunt for them. Overall, their quality of home improvement is better than Their competitor Menards down the street. Prices unfortunately are on the higher side often. You can find it cheaper if you want to buy it online or at another discount home improvement store. When you're in a pinch though this is a great place to go for home. Improvement needs. Come spring. We often come here to buy bags of mulch, which is cheaper than having it delivered. read more

10/24/24 1:30PM. Like any of the big box store trash every location is a crapshoot. This Lowe's has been hit or miss for me, but floor staff are generally polite and helpful. Today however, management really dropped the ball. I go to self check out to purchase approx. $300 in items. Ring everything up, all is normal. Electronic payment is approved and I select that I'd like both email and paper receipt. Then suddenly I'm back at the main screen like nothing ever happened. No receipt. No email. Huh? Clearly something happened and the sale didn't go through. I ring everything up again but as I go to pay some nagging thing in my brain urges me to check my bank account first. Sure enough my account is negative $315.66. There's the Lowe's charge right there at the top. So I call the associate over and explain the situation. She logs in and prints the last receipt, which coincidentally happens to be near the same amount I was charged. But upon reviewing the items I recognize that this is not my receipt. The associate is clearly at a loss and offers to call her manager. Her manager arrives and was polite and helpful but ultimately could not discern why my transaction didn't show in their system's history while my bank showed I had been charged. So she offers to ring everything up and charge another $315 to my account, assuming that the first charge will fall off eventually and if not they can facilitate a refund. I mentioned that this solution assumes that I have a spare $315 to spend on the 2nd transaction and that I'd prefer to find another way. So she escalates to her manager, who is apparently the assistant store manager. Sandy I think? This is where it got interesting. She shows up and is belligerent and unprofessional throughout the entire interaction. Her employees explain the situation to her and her response is, "the only way you're walking out of here with this stuff is if you purchase it again" I explain to her AGAIN that I've already paid and can show her the bank statement demonstrating as much. She proceeds to patronize me regarding the nature of bank holds. I explain to her that I worked for years in a bank and understand holds quite well; and that she is assuming that this charge will fall off of my account with no evidence whatsoever; and while she obviously has no problem gambling with my hard earned money, I'd rather not. I reminded her that this was some sort of system failure on Lowe's part, all I was guilty of was giving them my money. She abruptly says "no it wasn't" and proceeds to continue arguing with me by simply shaking her head and repeating the word "no" anytime I speak. She went so far as to say that I had not been waiting for my receipt for 30 minutes because she had only been called "3 minutes ago". Apparently she never mastered object permanence, and was struggling with the idea that an entire world existed for hours before she showed up. When I offered to show her some timestamps her fellow manager (a tall younger gent with glasses) jumped in to save her saying that that wouldn't be necessary. This? This is the lady that you guys decided was upper mgmt material?!? Wow! I have now left this Lowe's, empty handed and $315 poorer. Needless to say I will dispute the transaction directly with my financial institution and never go anywhere this Lowe's again. Not until and unless they completely overhaul their management team and choose to invest enough in their tech to prevent these situations. Read the other poor reviews. After the last couple visits, No more cashiers, just buggy self checkouts with some overwhelmed single employee watching everything and they sometimes just put their hands in the air and have you try another one so you have to start all over. Needed help, wandered around looking for someone, apparently they let a bunch of them go to, not just cashiers. Tried customer service but the person was literally around the corner wall picking their nose, this went on for about 30 seconds, apparently they had a high level clinging booger to root out. So I went to the overwhelmed single "Cashier" employee and she called someone to the area I needed, waited about 5-6 minutes, no one showed. I just Left my 300-400.00 basket worth of stuff and went to Menards. tried Home depot and they are cheaping out also on any kind of customer service, same issues. Lowes typically has the items we need in a pinch when we are doing home projects. We've ran to Lowe's several times a day on more than one occasion getting supplies that we've needed. The kids workshop is also great to when they offer them. The home & garden section has a great selection of plants. However, I wish they would get a better selection of hanging house plants. They keep getting golden pothos. Yes, they are gorgeous. But we want some other types & varieties. The staff is always helpful & kind. You can find an associate just about in every aisle you turn. The store is clean, so are the restrooms. read more

Can only call this business a complete nightmare. First, we dropped about $4,000 on appliances here. I am a military veteran and the individual with whom I was dealing told me that Lowe's no longer gives a military discount. Found out that a a complete fabrication. They damaged our dryer loading it on the truck. They couldn't even install the dryer because it was too damaged. The refrigerator was making a terrible racket and we had to call in a work order for it. It took over a week to get a replacement dryer and they never did call us back about the noisy fridge. After 4 days the fridge finally started working without sounding like it was going to shake apart. Their call center is just awful. I spent more than 2 hours on the phone trying to get in touch with an actual person & the first person I finally spoke to actually hung up on me so I had to spend another 30 minutes trying to get in contact with someone else. Lowe's used to be such a good company, but after this experience I will never do business with them again. read more

There were employees on the cell phone on Facebook and playing games. Not trying to ask any customer if they need assistance they wouldn't even offer to help us. Why is it not possible to give a zero star rating? That is what Lowes deserves? Trying to make a long story short....bought 6 appliances from Lowes (on Lima Rd., Fort Wayne, Indiana) on 5/28/17 and paid dearly for a 5 year extended warranty on ALL appliances. Appliances started breaking down so about 5 weeks ago, I contacted Lowes Service Advantage to get a service call scheduled to repair our washer, dryer and stove. About 4 days later, our dishwasher stopped working. Called Lowes Service Advantage (LSA) back, and no one there could figure out how to add our dishwasher to the service call with the same local repair company that was already scheduled to come to our home. I should add here, any time I called LSA, it's a minimum of an hour of being put on hold. One day I waited 2 HOURS on hold for them to initially answer. Today is was ONLY 1.5 hours. Anyway, I have spent 4 weeks, many, many MANY hours on the phone trying to get one single appt. scheduled, and now it seems I'll never get it scheduled because they have deleted us and our warranty from their system. Yep, they no longer show that we bought a single appliance from them, nor do they show where we ever had a warranty with them. How convenient for them to have our records magically disappear BEFORE our warranty is expired! By the way, we DID get the other 3 appliances repaired as of yesterday, which were under the warranty, but somehow the purchase and warranty info magically disappeared before we could get the dishwasher repaired. Don't bother to call and talk with the Operations Manager, Mark, at the Lowes store on Lima Rd. in Fort Wayne, IN, because it's "out of his hands". I suggested in order to compensate for the lack of help with getting our deserved warranty work done that he credit us $591 (the cost of the dishwasher repair) toward a new dishwasher, but he can't do that, nor is willing to do anything else to help us in any way. I could go on and on and on with more details on the incompetency of this company, but I think you get the message to NEVER, EVER buy from Lowes because your purchases and warranties will disappear from their records (conveniently before they expire), and because clearly they are a bunch of incompetent idiots that take NO responsibility. read more

Lowes service after the sale continues to be nonexistent! Bought a $500 Christmas tree last November. Just put it up yesterday for the first time since last year. One complete section that goes around the whole tree doesn't light up. I called Lowes and was told that I only had 90 days to return it for credit. Told me to call manufacture of tree. Their customer service keeps saying that they're closed until next business day. In other words I'm stuck with a non working tree that I'm still paying off. Do yourself a favor and shop at Home Depot where they give you up a year to return defective merchandise and actually care about you as a customer! read more

We ordered a patio door and waited months to have it installed, then it was installed incorrectly. After months of going back and forth, Lowes finally sent a contractor up from Indianapolis who said the door was installed so badly that the door frames might also need to be replaced and that a new patio door needed to be ordered because of the damage. We ordered a new patio door, the same almond color as the first, and again waited months. After several months and numerous attempts to find out where the door was, I was told it didn't need to be ordered because it was standard size and they had white doors in stock. I told them I needed almond color and that we were preparing to sell the house. They said the new door would be delivered and installed free for the new owners since we'd already paid for it. Months later I was still getting calls from new owners wondering about the door. I also got calls from Lowes installation even though I repeatedly told them the house had been sold and gave them the new owners' phone numbers. What a fiasco! This took over a year and a half and last I heard from the new owners, the new door was installed incorrectly also. Definitely will not use Lowes for any major purchases. We also had significant issues with Lowes on Coliseum Blvd re: $12,000 window order that we canceled after almost a year of being unable to get them installed. read more

I called them to hide my wires in the wall from my flat TV. They were very professional in following up keeping me absolutely informed of their whereabouts and time they would be at my house. Unfortunately my wall was a garage wall and had a fire break in it. Because of that they could not hide the wires. They very graciously said no charge call us again if you need something. I love Lowe's. I prefer it over the orange home shopping warehouse. Mainly because I feel that it's better quality and selection but also because they have more people working and that I can find if I need to ask a question. It also seems they have an employee or two working. Each dept which helps in so that I don't have to meander into another area just to find someone. It's the little things like this as to why I choose to shop here instead. I also like the layout and that each isle has it all spelled out for me on the isle marker signs so I don't have to guess and checking out is a breeze. The store is always clean and offers plenty of shopping carts or flatbeds at the entrances. If there isn't a flatbed I always ask an associate to please find me one and they come back with one quickly. The parking lot is an easy in and out with plenty of parking up front and a large area to pull your vehicle up to by the front doors to load larger items. Making it easy breezy to purchase awkward or need helping loading items in your vehicle. During the summer they have an awesome outdoor area with plants and flowers and other goodies that you're itching to buy for your yard when the weather finally gets to be above butt ass cold out. I mean let's face it, we're all ready for spring to arrive so expect it to be busier during these times than other times. Even when busy purchasing your items is quick. Going to Lowe's is fun for me because it means I'm fixing it remodeling or upgrading my home and who doesn't love that? read more

Tried to sell me a used item as new! Bought a 'new' Dewalt disc sander online for pick up in store. When I was handed the box I was immediately suspicious, as it looked a little banged up and had double tape on it. I asked the attendant, Sally C., if she thought it looked new. She assured me it, it was just opened in the store to insert an inventory tag. Completely normal. (Pretty sure that was a lie). Not convinced, I opened the box up. It was obviously used. The cable was loosely tied around the handle (see picture) and the power plug was bend (see picture). So far so bad but excusable. Mistakes happen. However, the attendant told me somebody made a mistake, as they are not supposed to put returns back if they look (not are!! ) used. So selling customer returns of open boxes as new is store policy! A customer service representative together with a regular employee tried to get me another copy of the sander, but they didn't have any in stock. She wanted me to buy the display model (see picture) , saying 'it's like new, it's not like anybody used it before'. Only after seeing my hesitation she reluctantly offered me a 10 percent discount. No apology or anything. I did not take the display model. Here it gets even shadier: she told the regular employee to use the sander I initially bought as the display model, and pack the previous display model in the box and put it on the shelf! read more

You could do a lot worse than coming here. Go to ACE hardware and get charged a boatload, I do like the Waynedale ACE hardware though, don't say anything bad bouts thems or I'll simply destroy you.
