Purchased when 8000w generator 3/14/26. Ran startup per instructions. Generator don't put out 240v instead was 180v. Started a fire in my house. Returned generator morning of 3/15/26. Menards wouldn't return because I put gas in generator. WTH? Generator didn't work. Now I have to take to service center. This is Menards. Don't shop there. They'll be out of business. They say they offer 11% rebate amount. However, the window of opportunity to mail in for the rebate is unreasonable. I bought something on 8 March. Today is the 11th. I see that the offer was valid March 3 to March 9. So I have lost the rebate. Why would you only give a customer six days window and if they buy something on day five and don't mail in the rebate they lose it. This seems to me to be unethical practice on the part of Menards. Recently made a purchase 2/8/25 literally 20 minutes before close. Employee Tiara K. waited on us and helped us make our purchase, secure additional warranty, and order two items from another location. She displays exceptional customer service and is very knowledgeable about the products! all the while it is now after close and proceeded with such a friendly and wonderful attitude. Manards has always been the go to place for me. Better prices and the employees are knowledgeable and friendly. They keep the shelves stocked which is a big deal to me because if I'm going to get something I want it to be there and not have to go to another store. Extra trips slow my projects and I don't have time to waste. They keep the store clean and the outdoor garden area has lots of design examples. This is a great thing for those of us that can't visualize what a completed project will look like. Plenty of parking and the have hot dog venders as you exit to temp you to the dark side of tasty treats. They also have a barbecue truck setup at the back of the lot that's has some amazing menu items and there barbecue sauce is amazing. Very large lumber selection but like and lumber you need to go through it to get the good stuff. They have a great paint Dept. There color match for paint is amazing. This is the place to be for all your home improvement needs. read more

I can't describe how much I dislike this store. The staff is rude, the quality of merchandise is poor, I don't particularly like the layout or the selection. The quality is cheap, yet prices are on par with other large big box retailers like Home Depot and Lowe's. I would rather go to Lowe's and I do. I have never had a good impression of any Menard's and decided (based on what a friend had mentioned) to give this one a try for some outdoor landscape ideas. Wrong. Huge mistake. Rude staff, poor selection, high prices, ridiculous store design, I don't like their policies, etc. For a large store, the selection is not so great. They might have the most unhelpful and downright rude employees I've seen lately. They are not just lacking knowledge, they are rude. After encountering said rudeness, I turned around and left and drove all the way to White Lake to go to Lowe's to find what I wanted, without hassle and and at an affordable price. Menards kinda freaks me out . It's a Walmart with bits of Home Depot & Costco combined. Although I like getting money back, I don't like their rebate program. It is a process. Have to send in receipt portions & wait months for your rebate. Which is a menards credit .. I'm still waiting 3 months on over $100 dollars from building a shed . It's a convenient place but I've never found it tidy or organized. Stuff is always in the wrong place and not in it's listed section . Sorry but just my humble option . Went on line to purchase a hot water heater went through the whole process and gave them all the information they wanted, $159 delivery fee with a $30 gas surcharge for delivery, ridiculous for a 17 mile drive I will never even look at your site again , so I went to Home Depot, and they had a $55 delivery fee which I m still thought that was a little high but I can live with that, and Home Depot you have the option to rent a trailer for $21 if you want to save a little money. Generally, I like the store. However, not for ordering deck boards! We ordered 40 16' deck boards and got the most awful selection of boards! One was so bad it broke in half when we picked it up, others were split, cracked and had huge knots throughout. Going to have to replace many of these boards somehow. read more

I don't know where to begin about what a deployable company Menard's is We ordered an entire bathroom make over from this place and it wasn't cheap. Vanity, shower stall, doors, linen closet, floors, fixtures, & paint. The assistant manager of plumbing took the order & messed the entire order up. Every thing came in wrong. Countless wasted hours & money going back & forth to store by my contractor to get the right material & some things are still back ordered from January & February. Contacted the plumbing manager, Dave & said I wanted compensation of some sort for their mistakes & all he did was blame it on us. Not great customer service after spending thousand's of dollars at their store. This is the Davison, Mich store where all this took place but I'm confidant they are all the same. Good Evening, I was in Menards today 9/28/21 5:40PM. The reason I was in Menards today is to purchase insulation. I went to building materials to get a order pick up so I can go pick it up behind the building. I received excellent customer service while he was helping me choose the right insulation. My huge issue is when I went in the back of the building to pick up the purchased insulation. I parked and went into the building at the order pick up location. What I encountered was disrespectful and infuriating. I waited until two clerks were done with what they were doing. One took my paper and he pointed across the lot and said there is our insulation storage you can go get it there. Excuse me? I am a female and I had my work dress cloths on since I just got out of work. So I had absolutely no help carrying the items to my car or finding the product. After I found the product and carried both to my car my lavender dress shirt is ruined because all the dirt and grit on the insulation. If the man that directed me to where the product was store would of helped me find and carry the product to my vehicle I would not be so infuriated!!! He lacked customer service and respect! Short Review Expensive custom order - Menards supplier did not create to spec. Estimated delivery date met for 50% of the order with an unknown time for the rest of the order to be completed... 25% more of the order shows up at store. 2 hour round trip to pick up 25% of order (delivery was paid for in the original order) with a bonus 'forced march' through the store as 2 colleagues would not call Mill Works and have the order brought out. Limited/no concern from Menards about failure to deliver product as ordered, delivering the product on time and no concern about the additional resulting cost. Very disappointed. Long Review Custom order and delivery paid for. Order takes a month to manufacture. Delivered to home missing 50% of order AND what was delivered was not what was specified (missing custom fittings that were paid for, apparently no longer available despite being listed on the Menards custom project website run by the supplier). Menards says they don't understand why and blames supplier - providing no other explanation as to why half of the order is missing and why the customization was not carried out. Another 25% of the order shows up at the store-they say they will hold it until the order is complete and then deliver it....The remaining 25% is estimated to take another month to manufacture. In the mean time my crew is on site and needs the everything that is available now to frame in all that is possible. Contacted store - they say come in and have the front desk contact Mill Works and they will bring it to the front of the store... Arrive at store and customer service will not call the Mill Works manager and instead says try another desk they think they saw the him over there a few minutes ago. Walk to the other side of the store and despite requests to call Mill Works they insist on walking us through the store to the Mill Works department to pick up part of the still incomplete order. After a tour of the store and "working" with two Menards colleagues that refused to call the Mill Works department we walk out (long walk) with another 25% of the order. The 'forced march' through the store policy is a bit over the top given everyone seems to carry a store radio. On account of the delay we are inuring additional cost of having crew come back to finish installation once order is complete. Menards has offered no refunds or compensation despite paying for additional customization that were not included or delivery that was made but incomplete and resulting 2 hour trip and tour of the store. I've been to this store 8 different times for various items. I'm a huge customer service person that really looks for great service and loves to acknowledge when I received it. While no one here at any time (with the exception of the grand opening) blows me away to be overly helpful, no one is rude. Most employees just seem to be going about their day, and generally need to be tracked down to ask a question. They seem to carry everything that the other big box home improvement stores do - of course different name brands - so the price match policy is pretty much null and void. They really push the mail-in rebates as their form of "savings" which is nothing more than a credit voucher good for purchases from Menards. Now, I know why companies choose mail-in rebates because the percentage of people who don't claim them make it an even more profitable endeavor (general statement - not about Menards). I just feel that it is a questionable business practice to use those, and offer the mail-in rebate in the form of a merchandise credit redeemable ONLY at your store. read more

I was so excited to get a Menard's close to home. I am a big fan of this chain. One problem that I have had with this new location is: For the first few weeks after the opening, you were never in the need for help while in the store. Now you can wander the aisles looking for a sales person and when you find one, they might know what aisle to send you to. BTW: If your buying cinder blocks (Clerk asked me "Ya mean the ones with the holes in em?"). They are stocked as far from the front door as they could get them. read more

This is a very large store; I'm not sure but it seems bigger than Home Depot and Lowe's. There is a lot of stuff here; you can even do a little bit of grocery shopping. They are usually pretty friendly, but our last visit was different. The guy helping us with our blinds didn't seem too thrilled about it and then another guy came to cut our blinds to length for us and he was very business-like, and not very friendly. Also, this is yet one more place you can expect to be hassled by Direct TV salespeople. So that makes Sam's, Target, and now Menard's. I don't know if these places understand, or care that these people are annoying and at times quite aggressive. It makes me think twice about whether or not I want to go to these places. read more

It was very nice to have the new Menards open up close to where we lived. We have always been Home Depot or Lowes customers. Once the new store opened I had been in many times to make purchases. Recently I had just spent several hundred dollars in hardwoods to make cutting boards. However, due to a recent experience I will never go again. My wife and I went to Menards in late January early February to look at patio furniture. We had found a set at Menards that we loved. However, due to the cold weather and snow, we wanted to wait until it got warmer to buy it. It was listed at $495.00 (I have a picture of it on my phone) We were very excited when the Easter Sunday sales flier came out announcing that there was an 11% rebate on everything in the store so we eagerly went to Menards to purchase the patio set. When we got there we had picked up a few other items that we wanted and went to the patio furniture to get the set which was still on display. Much to our surprise there was a new price tag on it touting the 11% rebate and a new price of $649.99. We were outraged. Even more so when the old price tag was still on the display hidden behind the new tag. We immediately went to the manager to get an explanation and were told if we wanted the 11% rebate we would have to pay the current price listed and to basically take it or leave it. I will never go back there again. I have sent in a complaint to them as well and have yet to get a response. Time to go back to Home Depot and Lowes. read more

What a mess. Management really needs to get it together. We ordered lumber and were told that part of the order was damaged. Fine - we waited a week until they had proper lumber, but then we were told that they had sold the lumber we already paid for. So we waited two more weeks. ON THE DAY we were supposed to receive the delivery of lumber, they claimed their truck broke down and that they would not be able to deliver the lumber for another week. Seriously? After all this, we decided to rent a trailer ourselves and get the lumber from them (we picked this delivery date for a reason...other dates will not work...), but have not received any sort of assurance that we will get our delivery fee reimbursed. IF. YOU. DONT. DELIVER. THEN. YOU. DONT. GET. THE. DELIVERY. FEE. MONEY. FROM. US. I've worked in customer service, and this is NOT how it's done. There's no number to call corporate (how convenient) and apparently every manager at the store is always on lunch when we call (also convenient) and they do not call back. Additionally, even though all of these things were their fault, we are somehow still treated as if it is our fault. Honestly, even with all of the confusion, stupidity, and inconvenience, I would have been willing to shop at Menard's again but with how we were treated and talked to and strung along, I'm out. Menards in Davidson is a horrible! They do not have any people skills and treat customers very poorly. I have had an issue more than one time with this store. * Purchased a shed had it delivered to my house. When I got home that day noticed this shed would not work for my needs. I loaded it in to my truck to return it. Upon my arrival to the store I was greeted with attitude and asked if I was returning or exchanging. When I said return the attitude was even more prevalent. * I ordered 18 foot of fence and 4 post. I received an email stating it was in. I went to pick up and they could not find my fence finally after 45 minutes they found it and dropped near my truck and left. * I had to order one more post and part of fence. I received my email stating it was in. I went to the store was sent to dock 13 and they said we don't get that here go to dock 11. So I go to dock 11. They say did you get a email I said yes so for 45 min later again. They say I have to have my manager look I can't find it. So he spends 15 min looking and says well we will have to reorder we don't have it. No sorry or anything. No explanation on where it could be or what might have happened. No apologies at all. Ordered some window wells and called on the approximate delivery date to see if they were in. I was told by a fellow that I gave my order number to that they were in the store ready for pickup. I drove the 30 mi got my pick up sheet from the front desk drove back around to receive and they tell me it was not delivered. OK let me talk to the manager, in comes Don (millwork), he said who did you talk to... Come on Im supposed to take down names? I will avoid going to the Davison Menards in the future. Last Saturday I ordered 20 bags of Mulch from the Clio Menards and the entire experience was awesome. I was in and out of there without having to lift a bag in 15 minutes. It was a Saturday so it was very busy. Yesterday I ordered the exact same thing from the Davison Menards and it took over a half hour and it was not at all busy. Going in to get my receipt took 10 minutes. A young lady stood there and didn't offer to help at all. When someone did finally get to me she was rude. Now comes the bad part...drove through the gate and parked near the mulch. I have an injured foot so i asked to have it loaded for me. What a bunch of lazy boys they have back there! 1 of them saw me and ignored me. After 10 minutes 1 kid walked out shuffling his feet and said "Er ya need something?" I said yes and he turned around went back in to find help. Who ever runs that store needs to see how it's done in Clio!!! I made a comment to the gentleman at the gate that it was kind of tough to get the kids moving back there. We have always shopped here and have always been pleased. BUT, we recently purchased new Maytag washer/dryer and they are pure junk! What's more disappointing is the fact they are American made! We notified the store the same week we purchased them about the lack of water and excessive wrinkles from the washer and asked if we could return/upgrade to different w/dryer and they said no! They don't stand behind the large appliances they sell. Our loss!!! So very disappointed in Menards, as well as Maytag. Warning to other customers - shop Sears or ABC warehouse for appliances. Not very happy with this store. It is not handicap friendly. My husband walks with a cane and is on oxygen and twice we have been at this store and never can we get a scooter for him. I asked for one and they said they only had one and it was in use. Secondly, we bought a mailbox last summer and received a rebate. However, in order to cash it in, you have to go to the store. We live 30 miles away and it is not very convenient to do so. Lastly, if you park on one side of the building and make a purchase, the check out counters are all on the other side. . . .why not counters on both side of the store or at least in the middle.
