A nice store. I couldn't find a product that said the app said the Angola, IN. store had 50 in stock. I asked one associate where this item was located and was told a couple of areas. I searched and found similar ones, but not the one that I wanted. I then asked Austyn and he then went to a computer to look it up and came back and told me that they weren't on the floor, but he would go get them. Upon his return he had 12 of the color I wanted and I asked him if they had anymore and he stated that they had another box of them and he would return in five minutes with them unless he got sidetracked by another person. He returned within the five minutes and I got the additional 4 that I needed. Thank you Austyn for the excellent customer service. Great job!!! read more

Must say that this is one of the worst big box hardware stores I have ever shopped in. Customer service desk is the worst part of the store. Made the mistake of asking where I might find an aisle was told. "walk around the store the aisle numbers are at the end of the aisle and I will eventually find it." it appears that the staff of this store are not trained outside of the three or four isles that they work. No one knows where anything is in the store, so you are literally on your own to wander around until you find what you're looking for. Not sure how the rest of you feel but I really don't want to spend my time walking up and down the aisles. Maybe if I shopped the store on a regular basis, I would become accustomed to it, but I can't get past the route in considerate behavior of the customer service team. read more

At the Angola, Indiana store, Asst. Mgr. Shane decided that I, as a customer, wasn't worth his time or energy. My online order was ready for pickup, I stood at the desk while he stood on the other side with paperwork. I patiently waited, even though he didn't even acknowledge my presence, while he finished. He finally asked what my order was and when he brought the items out they weren't bagged. He got me 1 bag, I asked for another, he walked away and I went and grabbed another bag and did it myself. read more

This place runs fine. All the negative reviews are complaining about things that don't make sense, Josh has plenty of emotions when dealing with upset guests, and the salesperson for the appliances also shows emotions. The complaint about bags, lol, you spent more time and money having them pull your 2 train accessories and you were in the store for a whole 15 minutes and stood at the pickup desk for 30 seconds while shane filled out some paperwork, sorry but you are not the world's priority. Dear Menards, Last year I bought over $20,000 worth of material from you. Not much in the way of total sales, but, enough for an individual. I also own a small company called J.C. Walker & Sons Corp. My websites are WeDoPlaygrounds.com and OctopitUSA.com. We install commercial playgrounds all over 3 states and deliver Octopits nationwide. Let's just say we buy a lot of stuff. This week I was kicked out of your Angola, Indiana store for not wearing a mask. On top of that I was treated rather poorly by your store manager. Apparently you choose whether or not to obey your own rules. 1. A guy outside, collecting your buggies had his mask down. 2. The guys escorting me to the outside did not use social distancing. You can watch the videos of this event. 1. I told the people escorting me to the outside, on several occasions, that I had a hard time hearing them and that I needed to read their lips. I also told them not to follow me. They kept following me and refused to let me read their lips. 2. It took several people to escort me outside. 3. I have a medical excuse for not wearing a mask, but, your people did not care. I had a stroke at the end of 2017 and surgery on my sinuses in 2018. 4. Your rules are more stringent than the state. The state mandate allows people with a hard time breathing to not wear a mask. We have been lied to: 1. We have 99.9% chance of surviving Covid-19. 2. The death rate for 2019 and 2020 is similar. 3. The average age of death is age 78, the same as last year. 4. Masks are precarious at best and the individuals wearing them get a false sense of security, according to the Wall Street Journal. 5. We don't have dead bodies lying all around. This is not a pandemic! 1. TB is a respiratory disease and over 1.5 million people worldwide died last year. Did you wear a mask for that or the following? 2. The sheer apathy of the employees at Menards and is so typical of most Americans who have a job because they are overwhelmed. We recently purchased a dryer from the Angola, IN facility. During our initial interaction with the sales team he advised us the floor model was the only option available. Ok, no big deal or so we thought. Two days later, the dryer arrived with an eight inch scratch across the top. I immediately contacted the store and spoke with Josh, the store manager. Wish, directed me the the sales man we worked with. We were informed we received a new dryer they found upstairs in a box and they could knock off $50. No emotion or care in the world. Two days later, our refrigerator decided to stop working. My husband decided to give them another try. Terriable decision! Upon arrival, the refrigerator appeared good until it was plugged in... loud squeal sound!, dent on the bottom right sode, dirty inside, throughout the inside black marks and scratches even on the butter tray. How if this is new? I took pictures and video and went to the store where I meet with you guessed it Josh. No emotion or care " Do you want your money back or a new fridge?" I expressed my disbelief this is the 2nd purchase in one week from his store with an issue. Again, no emotion and an annoyed look on his face. The refrigerator was picked up and now they invoiced us for a pickup charge totaling $150! Excuse me, you sold us a bad product and that is why it was picked up. Menards has good sales when they actually put something on sale and in general have a wide and diverse inventory. It is sad that they are willing to hire anyone off the streets instead of looking for qualified applicants who understand various parts of the home improvement industry. I don't ask my grandma or my teenage niece to come over and help me hang a light so why would I trust them to give me advise or answer questions they don't have the knowledge or experience to answer. Why can't employees ask for help when they need it instead of guessing or making things up. When you give me an answer that I know is wrong, you have lost all credibility and likely caused your store a potential sale. If you don't have the knowledge before getting hired and management can't train you, take some iniative and ask your customers questions to learn, make observations on what they purcase, or talk with the manufacturers in store reps. This was my fifth or sixth trip to this location over the last year and the checkout process is fairly efficient here. They do seem to do a good job of staffing but they do good at the mindlessness, cleanliness, and organizational side of things as opposed to answering technical questions or making recomendations. read more

Angola, IN has the BEST MENARDS STAFF!!! I've been in the backlot to pick up 165 bags of concrete, in the hardware looking for the right screw for my project, lighting, paint, everywhere. Just ask and the staff jumps to help in a knowledgeable , friendly manner. Today, I bought two lengths of carpet. The guys were OUTSTANDING!! The young man was right there to help when he saw us in decision mode. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. The department Mgr helped him measure, cut and roll our purchases. Together, they made the entire experience FUN!! Go in with a good attitude, treat these people with respect and you'll be delighted like I am every time I get to go to the Angola Menards!! read more

Bad customer service and misleading business practices. Ordered a brand new dishwasher online and went to pick up at curbside at the Angola Indiana store and they had it unboxed with no instructions (no box at all) sitting on a wood pallet. The staff is the rudest bunch of people! I have Severe asthma and horrible Claustrophobic and unable to wear a mask properly. The manager was SO rude to us. We were not hurting anyone. The manager asked us to leave the store. He said he was calling the police if we did not leave and started to get hostile with us with our children present! People down the isle were shocked in how the manager was treating us. I tried to explain my condition but he said leave the store immediately! My husband said he is loosing a lot of business and he responded with good don't come back! We won't ever give Menards business again!!!!!!! My husband and I were in the Angola Menards shopping for flooring. We found what we wanted. the tag on it said 32.48, bright pink tag all the info you need EXCEPT the expiration date. we noticed on Sunday om 2/20/2022 the 11% was coming back. So we decided to wait till the next day. Pink tag still on the product we wanted. We loaded our cart with what we needed and then some. Checked out and noticed they charged us 39.06 for the flooring and not the tag price of 32.48. my husband mentioned it, someone tried to refund the money, couldn't get it so we had to wait for the gm to get off his phone call. A half hour later he (Josh) showed up and told us that we couldn't get it for the price on the tag cause it was expired!!! now a reminder there was no expiration date on this pretty bright pink tag. Now one would think that you would get some of your money refunded since the tag was not changed till after we mentioned it. I know this cause i went to get my phone and take a picture of it. When I got back it was changed. My husband mentioned to the gm that he should discipline the employee that didn't do his job correctly. he said that if he does something wrong then he gets disciplined at his employer, which by the way is at the Menards distribution. This rude gm told him to only worry about his people at his job and he will worry about his employees. Menards is owned by 1 person. I had two wonderful experiences recently at my local Menards store located in Angola IN. I purchased retaining wall blocks. They were loaded seamlessly into my vehicle by a very pleasant young man named Carson. Very polite. I was back the very next week to purchase corrugated drain tile. Friday night after working all day, I ran into Zach in the building dept. He was extremely helpful. Again, loaded everything into my vehicle. I was back the next day to get some follow up parts. Another worker, Seth, was very knowledgeable and helped me to get the right componets to finish the job. Buyer beware. Bought a French door Maytag Frig. in June 2016. Not cooling,(serviced) then no ice (serviced), then not cooling again (service call placed, again). Called the store, won't do anything about our purchase because it has been longer than 30 days from purchase. Only 1 year on factory warranty (we have to deal with factory). I guess in 12 months if this keeps happening, we get to replace it, at our cost. Can't afford 6 to 8 service visits a year. Will never buy another major appliance from a store that doesn't provide service themselves. Major $2300 mistake. read more
