When you are in need of serious help, and not abusing the system, First Valley is a great choice…read more My stay finally got me on meds that worked. I am indebted to the providers there.

Hi. I was a patient at First Hospital who was 302'd, that means I was an involuntary admittance for…read morea psychotic episode. I was violent and had to be restrained twice in the first 3 days. i ended up staying for 16 days, with the first few days being very rough for me mentally. I can honestly say that I am completely greatful for the treatment I received there. The staff, especially those who restrained me were absolutely professional. I was not hurt at all even while being restrained by 12 people. They were truly experts at their jobs. After my stay I left feeling like myself again. I want to thank Dr. Asif for working closely with me on my medication plan, helping me with not only my schizophrenia but also my anxiety and depression. I also want to thank all the nurses, therapists, food preppers, cleaning staff, techs and security (one of which I bit during a psychotic episode, sorry about that :/) who are very underappreciated for the work they do, and helped me 24/7, going out of their way many times to help me. Even after my schizophrenic episodes the staff did nothing but make me feel protected, being friendly and making me feel like I was a valuable member of society again. I apologize for the long ramble but the guys and gals at this hospital deserve respect and acknowledgement for the work they do. I am getting my life back because of them, and I have nothing but love, respect and admiration for what they do. I wish the hospital was better funded, added more healing activities like sports and was more taken of financially by the state government. Without this help I could have been hurt or even worse, I could have died. So thank you to all of the staff for making my stay a very productive and healthy one. I'll never forget you all as I get my life back on track. God bless you all. P.S. After a year passes I just might take a chance and apply there to help others like you all helped me. You guys rock. With love, Matt

Very unprofessional. WORST HOSPITAL AND MEDICAL SYSTEM EVER. ER VIST A NIGHTMARE!!!…read more I wish I could give less than 1 star. I arrived at the ER with a rupturing ovarian cyst (if you don't know, its pain worse than birth) and was made to sit on a hard chair for an hour before they'd even address me (they had tons of empty beds btw, my husband begged them to let me LIE DOWN!) Crying--full waiting room--so embarrassed--writhing in pain there. Then they did nothing for 5 more hours as I shook uncontrollable in pain, freezing, writhing and vomitting from the pain. No sympathy. Could not understand anything that ER doctor says. No one does. THAT'S DANGEROUS TO THE PATIENT! How can we know about our diagnosis, warnings, drug info, etc??? But no....they just let me be in pain, could not give me drugs as the hospital 'can't afford to" that's BS if you ask me. My GP, gyro, and PA are all very confused as to why they left a possibly deadly situation go so long with no help or pain control. I could have bled out internally, had an infection...or fainted and bumped my head. I keep asking, they ignored. I left crying, tired, depressed, and in more pain. If you go to this ER do NOT talk to doctors with thick accents...do yourself a favor and make sure you hear EVERY word. Don't let them treat you like an animal like they did me. Oh wait, animals are treated better in this country.
