I have seen multiple leaps and bounds from my child as a result of his time spent there and I know the entire staff gets to know not only every child, but the parents on a personal and individual level. I am very happy with our decision to enroll our child there and would do so again.

There is a six year age difference between my kids, but both attended Childcare Network. My baby…read morewas currently enrolled until this week. My first experience was great at the Hodgson location. So when my baby was wait listed I decided to enroll her at the Pooler location. I requested info on before care services in April prior to school starting cost, when is payment due etc, was also told during orientation that they would give it to me on first day of school, I was told that day that there is a $20 fee for food. My child does not have allergies, however there are foods she has never eaten since she started eating baby food, so I said she would be bringing her lunch, i was then told no outside food is allowed. So I asked will she be given an alternative option if you present her with something Ive told you she doesnt eat. I was told yes...my child was given white bread, some type of fruit and milk. Prisoners are eating better than my 4 year old. 2 weeks passed with me leaving message and emailing the site before I was stopped one morning on my way to work I was charged for 3 weeks plus food. Still no explanation of the fees, didn't know I had to pay for both before and after or what they call pre k wrap around although she does not use the after school service. The following week I was charged a "annual registration fee". This I don't understand the Georgia Pre k program is free, second she will not be there next year. Then finally I was informed that they are now going up and additional $20..so the free pre k program at childcare network is costing me around $200 a week. So not only am I paying for food she doesn't eat. I pay for both before and after care bc they don't separate the service, registration fee, oh and they don't pro-rate when they are closed for holidays or due to evacuation, or other weather related closures, of it they are closed due to teacher planning. You still have to pay for services you didn't receive. Now if I had received this paperwork prior to enrolling her, we would have looked elsewhere. I pay more here than I paid the entire summer with 2 kids in daycare. I would never recommend or use their services again. Very unorganized and costly.

This YMCA didn't provide me a breakdown of what my toddler was going to go over. I didn't even know that was a thing until another YMCA gave me a welcome sheet at the first class! They set the standard high. It's summer, so there are a lot of people and summer camps, especially with it being a noon class. They could definitely increase the seating area for parents, and put more shaded areas. The pool is a little tight. The kids water play area is awesome, for babies and older kids. It's not a terrible YMCA, but it's definitely congested and I've experienced better instructors and customer service elsewhere.

They have automated the gate/entry and that same gate card works at other Y's. The desk staff are always welcoming and supportive and do their best to answer all questions. Free Wi-Fi and a lot of TV's for watching. Good points: they have opened the gym area so that it doesn't have that walk of shame feeling where everyone is staring at you. I hated walking through the treadmills as if I was being judged and I'm in fair shape. Cons: even though it was opened up/remodeled, the free weight area is still a tight space and you still have to learn to walk around and not hit someone in the head with your weights. The worst: the YMCA officially became the Y a few decades ago. i.e. there are women here and the goal became to not be so beat you over the head with a bible. I am a Christian and go to church faithfully. And yet, this place hired a chaplain. Why? And why for incredible amounts of $$$ with benefits and a car when it's supposed to be for the community at large? For over $100k, there are far too many things that are needed: more stuff for the elderly, disadvantaged, poor, children....... more trainers that help all for no cost. I find that the full time staff ignore most of the people including the elderly. Richard in the wheelchair is the only full timer (?) that talks to everybody.
