Our server greeted us within two minutes of being seated, and our margaritas arrived in less than seven minutes. Service throughout the meal was friendly and prompt. The small margarita is one of the best values on the menu at just $4. It was decently strong without being overpowering, making it an easy recommendation if you're stopping in for drinks. We ordered the large cheese dip ($12.95), which came out quickly and piping hot. It was perfectly acceptable smooth, flavorful, and without any major flaws but it also wasn't memorable. At nearly $13, it feels overpriced for what you get. The fountain soda was $2.99, which is pretty standard these days. Unfortunately, like many restaurants I've visited in Little Rock, the soda tasted flat. The food took a little longer to arrive, but that's never a problem if it's fresh and worth the wait. Unfortunately, that's where everything fell apart. The Birria ($12.99) was a major disappointment and one of the weaker versions I've had. The Combo #2 (two enchiladas with rice and beans) was even worse. The enchiladas were cold, the food tasted stale, and the entire plate was underwhelming. This visit unfortunately reinforced what has become a frustrating trend for me. I've found it surprisingly difficult to find consistently good Mexican food in Little Rock, and Senior Tequila didn't change that impression. If you're looking for reasonably priced margaritas, quick service, and a clean restaurant, this place checks those boxes. But if you're coming for great Mexican food, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

So the clerk comes back with one roll of toilet paper unwrapped like it was taken from their bathroom. I was like, ok, fine, thinking she might charge me .50¢ or $1. I also was buying a yerba mate drink. She rang it up and it was over $7, I asked how much the drink was she said $3.49, so you are charging me over $3 for a single roll of toilet paper, and she says yes. I said no, I will get toilet paper somewhere else, I am not paying you over $3 for a roll of toilet paper, that's insane. I gave her cash, she was still holding the money in her hand telling me I could get something else. I was so confused why she just didn't take that off, she had not put the money in the register, the transaction was not complete, she was still holding the money. I pointed at the money in her hand, and looked at her as if she was trying to make a simple situation hard. She kept repeating you can get something else, I've already rang it up. I wasn't about to argue with her in front of the small child sitting on the counter. So i said well can I get another drink? Still confused why she just didn't give me my money. So I just left with two yerba mate drinks, so strange. I went around the corner to another store and got 4 rolls of toilet paper in a package for $2.49. Seriously!

Ordered lunch togo from here today for the first time and WOW was I impressed! Ordered the Vegan Fried Chicken(mushrooms) with a side of Mac n cheese and a small kale salad. The mushrooms were amazingly crispy, the kale salad chocked full of good stuff with a really tasty dressing, and that Mac n cheese was one of the best I've EVER had. Portions were good, I had my leftovers a few hours later for dinner bc it was THAT GOOD. Can't wait to go back to try the other menu items. The taste of the burger I had was one of the best vegan burgers I have eaten. You don't miss the meat, trust me this burger had all the flavor value you would want in your food. Cleanliness has become an issue at many Little Rock restaurants lately, but this place was well-maintained and inviting. Keep up the great work there. Pigs in a Biscuit -- $8.99 These were delicious. The biscuits absolutely live up to the hype. Nothing more to say, definitely order these. Biscuit and Gravy Meal -- $13.99 The biscuit was easily a 7 out of 5. Seriously, that good. The gravy was good as well, and the whole meal really hit the spot. Countryman Bowl -- $14.99 This one was just okay. There was plenty of bacon and ham, but the potatoes were cold and tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp before being thrown onto the plate. If the potatoes and eggs had been served hot, this could have been very good. As served, it was just average. Unfortunately, the service took a sharp turn after we ordered. Our server never came back to the table, our drinks remained empty for the rest of the meal, the coffee we ordered never arrived, and the kids' side of bacon was never brought out. Overall, The Buttered Biscuit has excellent biscuits, a clean dining room, and a promising start to service but the experience needs more consistency.
