Sherbourne House has a small restaurant and bar and the food is really very good although there are also several excellent restaurants within walking distance if you fancy a change. It was the best service we received during our entire visit to Europe. Really made us think about the difference that one person can make to your entire experience of a place. Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds, immediately known to all as Gerald and Ali, the proprietors of Avalon Farm, proved to be the best possible hosts for our group, which included young children and young adults, as well as middle-aged and older family members. We all quickly felt as if we had been adopted by Gerald and Ali. They brought in additional staff, all extremely amiable, to deal with our numbers, and delicious, hearty breakfasts were always served without any waiting on the part of the hungry guests. As members of our party drifted in during the afternoon, they were all offered tea, a delicious reminder that we were in England. All of our group wholeheartedly recommend Avalon Farm, and look forward to the possibility of returning there some day.

The pub and dining area make it a superb venue for special events. It is also a brilliant destination for a weekend away as well. Breakfast is also a real treat, as the Full English has some of the best cooked and crisp bacon seen in a while, along with an abundance of fruit juices. Last of all, and certainly not least, with the kind and welcoming staff, this venue is highly recommended on top of the warm setting.

With the National Trust you just show your pass and you walk in.This is Cambridgeshire's grandest working Estate. It has a Hall, the Gardens (which was MY favorite.If you are familiar with Capability Browns work, you'll see it all over Wimpole ) There is the Home Farm and the Park. THis is an all day affair if you go. They have walks, and tours available.You can picnic here and they have anextensive gift shop in several spots.There is also a restaurant on location. THis is well worth the money.If the kids get to tired going through the home, take a break and let them run through the large gardens. This Estate is for everyone. I would go again.
