On January 27, 2019, I rented an apartment from Albuquerque Realtor F. W. "Bill" Reed through…read moreAirbnb. The apartment was located at 4801 Gibson Blvd SE, Apartment 208, in Albuquerque, NM. I was to rent the apartment from February 23rd to April 21st for a total of $2,671.99. Mr. Reed is a realtor working for ABQ Properties LLC on 4801 Gibson Blvd SE, Suite 107 in Albuquerque, NM. When I arrived at the apartment on February 23rd, I was not able to access it because Mr. Reed had not provided me with the gate code. Mr. Reed was very difficult to contact and was dismissive of my issue, stating at one point that there was no gate and then later that he was busy for the next few hours. After I was able to get the gate code and enter the apartment, I quickly noticed the apartment was not equipped with cable tv or a sleeper sofa as advertised. It also smelled bad and the common areas of the complex were dirty and worn. I immediately contacted Mr. Reed and told him about the issues. He did not offer to correct the problems and suggested that I leave. He also denied that his ad for the property stated it had a sleeper sofa. I then left the property, probably 20 minutes after I had arrived. Mr. Reed provided a full refund of the $1,295.79 deposit I'd already paid after I contacted Airbnb and complained. I then went to a local hotel for a five-day reservation and made two additional reservations at other Airbnb properties for the period of February 28th through March 8th and March 11th through April 9th. I paid $2,700.45 for these two periods. For the remainder of the reservation period, I will have to stay at a local hotel. As a government traveler I qualify for a $94 a night rate. So, for the additional 20 days of the rental period, I will pay $1,880.00 not including any applicable taxes. On February 23rd I left a review of Mr. Reeds service on the Facebook page for ABQ Properties LLC. Since then I received several responses from ABQ Properties LLC. At first, they denied a connection to Mr. Reed and then they took up his cause against my complaint. Today, on February 25th, ABQ Properties posted a false accusation against me on their Facebook page, suggesting that I had only made a complaint because I spilled wine on the floor while in the apartment. They also claimed to have before and after pictures of the apartment showing the damage I'd caused. Anticipating that I would have trouble with these unscrupulous people, I took pictures of the entire apartment before I left on February 23rd. I can tell you that I caused no damage and their claim is simply a lie. On the evening of February 25th, after I made a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, ABQ Properties took down their Facebook page. Unfortunately for them, I have a copy of the page with their false statements memorialized. I'd like two actions to be taken by Mr. Reed and ABQ Properties. First, I'd like a retraction and an apology for the false damage claim they are making against me. I have evidence that this was a lie and they should retract the false claim before it causes more damage to their business' reputation. Second, I'd like to be reimbursed for my losses. I'd contracted with Mr. Reed to spend $2,671.99 for lodging from February 23rd through April 21st. I am now spending $4,580.45 for the same period due to having to make last minute plans. This is a difference of $1,908.46, and I would like this amount to be paid to me by Mr. Reed and ABQ Properties LLC.

By the way, I love my new agent - she is the whole package, and absolutely the spirit of "New Mexico kind" to strangers when they call her AND respects my own ability to be a home buyer.
