Handsomely decorated and very festive with attention to detail! We wanted to actually spend time in the game room and read books etc but we were also enjoying our room and watching TV on the comfy beds with the high thread count sheets! The room rate includes a three course breakfast and being diabetic the owner took pains to find out and even discuss with me what to make for me! I was blown away! I was OK with just some eggs honestly but oh no! they were committed to 100% customer satisfaction! By the way, she also offered us a glass of wine after we've checked in and she's showed us to our room! She actually brought it to us...what?????!!!! A beautiful property, excellent innkeepers, beautiful room, tres romantic, I hate to write this because I would hate for the rest of the world to know!! But you know these folks deserve to be successful for the love and care they put into the place and their guests' satisfaction. We'll be back! BTW did we mention romantic? ROMANTIC!

The historic home is decorated with impeccable taste in a detailed fashion that resembles the time period it was built in. There are robes, claw-tubbed baths, DVD's with a big selection of movies, and a complimentary glass of wine as you arrive. There's a beautiful pond with surrounding statues in the yard and breakfast is served in the covered back patio. Tina made the most delicious vegan & gluten free 3-course meal I have ever tasted... She accommodated to my dietary restrictions with a Banana & Berry Sorbet with mint leaf, sweet potato hash browns lightly decorated with an herb poached egg, and an almond/berry/molasses dessert that had the exquisite consistency of a cookie mixed with a pancake. All the food was decorated with rose petals, and reminded me of the movie "Like Water for Chocolate", you could taste the love infused into it with every bite.... A complete explosion of flavor. I totally recommend ByBee's to anyone traveling through Oregon!!!

Case in point, the large & gorgeous Presidential Suite, which can include one or two bedrooms, depending on what you need. The bathrooms are beautiful and practical with a lovely soaking tub that is easy to get into and out of, which made me really happy. The beds are extremely comfortable with luxurious linens but the piece de resistance is the very beautiful and private walled courtyard that comfortably accommodates four people or just two if you are on a romantic holiday. This remarkable suite is perfect for a honeymoon, a girls' trip, or for two couples who are traveling together on a road trip through southern Oregon. Now let's talk about the food that is served in the common areas, whether you prefer to eat inside or outside. There are fireplaces in both areas that are quite lovely. There are so many charming places to enjoy a small plate (or to share several) of absolutely delicious food and a craft cocktail or bottle of good wine I have always loved Jacksonville but, in my opinion, The McCully House is so extraordinary that it raises the entire Jacksonville experience to new heights. Thank you, Kathryn & Team.

I called in around 9am to make a reservation and Wendi (the Owner) gladly took us same day for a 12:30pm slot. I told her my boyfriend has some food restrictions like he doesn't like mayo so she was able to make some sandwiches without it. She asked if we want the Princess tea ($35 per head) or the Queen tea ($40 per head) so we chose the Princess set. An hour later we arrived to the The Painted Lady Tea house! Mostly street parking but it's not busy so it was easy to park in front the house. The house entrance had two doors but for some reason the first door you see is locked so you enter the right door side as their entrance. The ambiance of the place was super pretty like each section of the house had different themes. Wendi greeted us and said we can sit anywhere in the house. There was two other groups that was dining and noticed they were wearing cool hats so my boyfriend chose to wear a Jester hat and I chose to wear a frilly flower hat. I saw one group eating the Queen tea set so I asked Wendi if we can change our meal plan to that instead and she was able to make the last minute change. We chose to sit in the green room because it was very earthy, decorated with plants, and had small water fountains. Here is what's inside the modified Queen tea set meal: Appetizer -2x Ginger scone -2x Lemon scone -English Tea -Side of sugar cubes -Side of creamer Entree -Croissant sandwich (Ham, cheese, tomato, leafy greens, mustard, mayo) -Egg sandwich -Curry chicken salad sandwich -6x cucumber cream cheese sandwiches *no mayo* -2x crusted egg quiche -Green grapes -Chocolate dipped tangerines -2x Chocolate crunchy dipped strawberries -2x Chocolate drizzled strawberries Dessert -2x Strawberry ice cream cake -2x Oreo cheesecake My boyfriend got a whole Croissant sandwich since the other sandwiches contained mayo. He ended up not liking it because he didn't know there was mustard in it so he just wiped it off and didn't want to ask for a new one. Most tea places I've been don't usually add mustard into their sandwiches so maybe next time I should've said no sauces or all sauces on the side. Their website menu didn't have any details of the sandwiches, it was very vague. I'm kind of sad he wasn't able to enjoy the other sandwiches with me so I wish there was more no sauce sandwich options or self serve sauces in the future but that's what I get for dating a picky boyfriend lol. I really enjoyed everything and loved the decor of the house! But I felt like the menu had too many sweets. I would be fine with just the scones, dipped strawberries, grapes, and oreo cheesecake but the extra dipped tangerine and strawberry ice cream cake were too much. Maybe I suggest make the strawberry ice cream cake and oreo cheesecake to be bite sized. It would be nice if there was a good ratio of savory like maybe add chips, soup, cheese cubes, or other charcuterie board savory snacks. I still recommend this place! Great place to bring your family and friends to enjoy for a fancy stop over from a long days road trip :)

They were for May, which in light of the current state of things in the vaca-world seems like plenty of notice. Though their policy does state they charge a fee for cancelations - no matter what. We've stayed before. Now though, I believe we have seen the true nature of things. It makes me sad to think we will not be rescheduling our stay. We made it clear that we'd be doing that as soon as the world settled into its new norm.
