DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE CON ARTISTS AND LIARS! I wish that I had read the REAL reviews on Yelp, rather than the company's obviously faked reviews on Google, before hiring this company. They are, as the other Yelp reviews have said, the most incompetent, unprofessional, dishonest, and downright rude people I that have ever dealt with--not JUST at a moving company, but ANYWHERE. First, I chose them in part because their estimate was lower than others. In fact, when they picked up my things, I had to chase them around to get an exact price so that I could have a check ready. This price turned out to be about $700 more than their quote. They claimed that I had ADDED 800 pounds of property--as if anyone would purchase 800 pounds of property while packing to move! Then, the pick-up. I told them weeks ahead of time that I needed to know whether it would be in the morning or afternoon, so that I would know whether I would have time to move the same day or would have to book a hotel for myself and my elderly parents, since the furniture would be gone. I told them I did not mind which, but needed to know. First, they said they would arrive in the morning, so I did not book a hotel. Two days before the move, they said they would arrive at noon. When they were not at my house at noon on the scheduled day, I had to call. I was told that they would arrive between one and two. I called again when they failed to show up again. They finally arrived at 2:30, at which point, with no hotel, we had to wait for them to finish (at about 5:30), clean the house and drive for 12 hours...all because they couldn't get their schedule straight. One of the movers actually damaged my ceiling and told me nonchalantly, "You can paint it later." When, during a now-delayed move, does a person have time to buy paint and paint a ceiling? They did not offer to repair the damage themselves, of course. The delivery story is even worse. I started telling them a MONTH before the move that the delivery port at my new building needed to be booked way ahead of time. I reminded them of this repeatedly. Even after picking up my things, they STILL could not give a delivery date. Finally, they called on a Thursday (a week later) to say that they would deliver on Saturday afternoon. By some miracle, the port was free. We told this to the dispatcher, and reminded him that he could not arrive before noon, because the port was booked until then. After 5 p.m. on Friday (the night before the scheduled delivery and after my apartment office was closed), the dispatcher, Sergio, called to say that they would have to deliver in the morning. I told him that that was not possible, reminded him of our discussion the previous day, and reminded him that I had been telling them for a month that they needed to schedule in advance to book the port. It was like trying to explain logic to a five year old. He just kept insisting that they "had to" deliver in the morning, because they had loaded my things in front of the other delivery to be done that day. I told him that their mistake was not my problem and he needed to work it out. He became EXTREMELY condescending and rude, and threatened to have them unload my things outside the building in the morning and "bring them up later." (!) Finally, after much argument, he said that they would deliver at noon and then hung up on me. Of course, on Saturday morning, the drivers showed up at 9:45 a.m. The other movers had not yet arrived, so the building said that they could deliver until they did. They brought up two loads, without putting any protection on my floors or removing their shoes. Then the driver insisted that I pay him in full, and refused to continue delivering until I did. I told him that, given their track record, I would not pay them until all of my things were in my apartment. They refused to continue moving my things. They called their manager, John, and put him on the phone with me. This man is the most misogynistic, obnoxious human being that I have ever encountered. He shouted over me while I was trying to talk, swore at me and my elderly mother, and told me that if I did not pay in full immediately he would STEAL my things and bring them back to Montreal. I felt FORCED to pay in full and then--guess what--the moving company that had actually booked the port showed up. The Meldrum movers tried to bully them into letting them keep the port, and finally moved to give them the port. Then, rather than moving my things themselves, they got the movers from the other company to do it! EVERY single piece of my furniture was badly damaged upon arrival and EVERY box was busted open--including the boxes marked "fragile." Many of my belongings were completely destroyed. I suppose that this is why they force you to pay before delivery. Seriously, there is NO purpose to hiring these people. You will pay to be stressed by their disgusting behavior and will have to replace all of your belongings afterwards. read more
