So recently, we hired these guys to help us move since they seemed witty and pretty genuine. What a mistake! Bottom line: they were not careful with our things and caused hundreds of dollars in damage. We discovered quite a few damaged boxed but the coup de resistance was a smashed 40" television. When we called to point this out they said "too bad" and that it's all part of the risk of hiring movers! When we tried to argue with them they had the audacity to suggest that we smashed our TV before the move and planned to frame the movers for damage all along! As a final word of warning against us, they said that if we try to take them to small claims court it would be their word versus ours and there are more of them than us so good luck! When we dug a little deeper, it became clear that these guys are neither a legitimate business nor are they insured - which means when they damage something, they wash their hands and walk! Plus, we noticed that in the fine print of their contract they claim that they are not responsible for damages - in particular televisions, which suggests that they have a track record of breaking electronics. If you value your things, don't hire these guys. Get some reputable movers.

I called again on Thursday and his voice mailbox was full and was not accepting any more messages. I emailed him again to CANCEL the truck and had to scramble to find another van and some help for my move this morning. Quite a disappointment to say the least. Not very dependable! Good news is that I ended up paying $100 less than what I was quoted by this company for a van and 2 men. So, this worked out for the best. Beware, don't take any last minute chances with these people. I can refer you to Services Bonheur Mini Budget Inc. A. Fofana at 514-616-5005. Tell him I sent you!

I've never had complaints - the guys on both occasions were polite, friendly and did the extra - like asking me if I had a mop so they could clean up the snow and slush they left on the tile floor. Very thoughtful! Moving to me is always long, frustrating and annoying. But Fox movers made it seem less so. I have never hired a big moving company, but for the rate they charged they were very efficient.

First of all, I had a small 3 1/2 apartment and was moving to another 3 1/2. Three guys came in on time and began wrapping my furniture. They were polite and friendly, and I felt that it would be a good move. It all seemed to be going well as most of my pieces were wrapped in less than a half hour. An hour later, I looked around and realized that nothing had made it out of my apartment to the truck... no guys in sight for long periods of time and no furniture being loaded. I told one of them that came back into the apartment that they needed to pick up the pace as we needed to be at the next apartment for 1 pm or so. Well, it was exactly 4:30 pm before they pulled up to the new apartment! I want to add that they stretched the travel time to by going through downtown Montreal at rush hour rather than through the Lafontaine Tunnel as we had planned. They will say that it took more time because of the distance from the door to the van, it was hard to get the appliances out of the apartment, etc., but I know otherwise. While what they said was true to a point, all they had to move was a small amount of furniture along with my appliances. There were no boxes at all as I had moved kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and storage room on my own, prior to the move. They were hired strictly for the big furniture and appliances. I felt it would be 2 hours loading, 1 hour of travel time, and 1 or so hours unloading. Instead it was over 4 hours loading plus another hour or so travel and 1 hour unloading. I think 4-5 hours should have completed the job. However, it ended up being 6 1/2 hours of paying 3 dawdling movers. They did not take care of offloading and just really dumped and ran. I am upset over the length of time it took, but I'm really upset about damages done to my new stove. They did not tape the stove drawer shut and so it shifted open at some point and the wheels were damaged and had to be replaced as I could not close the drawer after I opened it. They also left pieces of my washer/dryer assembly kit to stack them at my old apartment. Of course, it appears my dryer is shifting as the rails are not bolted down right. I was able to retrieve the piece, but I don't know how I will have the problem resolved. It will probably mean hiring someone to unstack the machines and fix the stacking kit assembly before the dryer totally shifts off its base. Who will pay for this? Me i guess, just as I had to for the stove drawer! I can only imagine how hard it is to be a mover. I really feel for these guys to have to move heavy stuff day after day while dealing with all kinds of customers. It can't be easy! That said, my advice to you is NOT to use Fox movers unless don't have a choice.

It was a bit of a difficult move- my…read moreformer address was 3rd floor with no elevator, difficult to park in front of, and it was raining hard through the whole move. Additionally, I had some small items that were not really packed well enough, and they packed them very efficiently, making no issue for us. Ericson and his team took all issues in stride. As some of the other reviews say, Ericson is a bit of a drill sergeant. Be prepared for him to be short and directive with his team. However, they were super efficient, and very friendly and unintrusive with myself and my family. Ultimately, this is not a cheap service, but quality is important, and I expected hiring movers to be expensive but worth it. I would say this was definitely the case here. Having WeHaul do the job made this move completely painless on our end.

I have used movers quite often and prepare well and many places of different businesses find that I am a very fair person. I also read quite a lot of advices on many topics. I do my own packing with no problems after. Looking at many of those unfavorable reviews, I have these observations to make. From what I've read it seems his prices are in line with the business. While he has to cover many obvious costs he also has to cover overhead such as costs of keeping an office, electrical, heating, government taxes, send out gst and qst,, Internet use and site keeping, etc. Nor can he undercut his competitors or get into trouble. Also if he doesn't have a profit margin for himself he will end up ne not being able to support himself. Unless you are are the first move of the day they WILL run late. Expect it. It is normal. Also it is up to you to make sure you make sure he has a good place to park at both ends. Ask both landlords where they can put their truck. if it is on the street put cones or chairs there and if necessary or possible sit there. And as for the lady who cancelled one hour beforehand although she implied she was asked for the entire fee it seems he only asked for one hour's worth. I have also noticed for other businesses that sometimes when someone wants to hurt that business they will say they found a cockroach or a bedbug while most of the reviewers don't. When you contract for a move verify your details to avoid misunderstandings. When you pack don't leave anything loose or touching each other in those boxes. Don't use bags to pack unless those bags are then put into your boxes and do not contain breakables or scratchables. It also seems that those complaining about lack of what they consider proper speed Are those expecting the workers to be rushing. I also believe that what they are doing is pacing themselves so that they don't expend their energies too fast and thereby have the endurance to continue working effectively.
