Went to this office for new veneers after one of them was becoming discolored (a different dentist…read moreand after having them for 8yrs with no other issues). Dr. Cheney advised that I needed new veneers because my current ones were "too big". I was fine with that and paid 6k for two new teeth. Everything seemed fine until a few days later, one fell off,then the other, then they cracked in half, which he fixed (no real questions asked). Mind you. I don't eat rocks or do any extreme sports, and my previous veneers had been on for years with no issues, so when my left front tooth cracked again while I was getting a massage. I called the office and they informed me they would try to get me in a call back. They never did. (Despite front desk claiming she did, but never left a message? As I don't answer unknown numbers) When I called I was told I would have to pay for the visit , new X-rays, and the doctor would let me know how much for the fix, because (and I quote) "don't come to them for cleanings". And why would I when I can't even trust the fact my teeth aren't going to crack or fall off? Long story short, do not go to this practice.

The only problem with that is they did not tell us. We had appointments starting in January 2025 and then four more appointments ending in September. Five times we stood in front office and they never told us. We wound up with over a thousand dollar bill after all our yearly dental work was completed. They did give a twenty percent discount which is typical for someone with no insurance. No apologies. I called on a Monday to speak to the dentist about what happened and on Tuesday we received a call from the accountant saying we must pay now or risk collections. No call form the dentist. We paid the bill in full. Yes what they did is legal. Is it ethical or deceptive, you be the judge.

However, when I called back, (we got disconnected) I was given completely different information by another staff member. I was told I would first need X-rays and a full evaluation, and only after that would they determine what type of cleaning I "might" need. I made it clear that I was simply looking for a standard cleaning. I've had extensive recent dental work, including veneers, and I'm very familiar with my dental health. I also work with a cosmetic dentist I trust, so this wasn't a case of neglect or uncertainty on my end. What really raised a red flag for me was being told that even if I waited for the later appointment (May 7th), there was still no guarantee I would actually receive a cleaning during that visit. That's highly unusual. In my experience, both locally and elsewhere, a routine cleaning appointment is just that--scheduled, straightforward, and completed in one visit without unnecessary hurdles. The inconsistency between staff members, combined with the lack of clarity around something as basic as a cleaning, made the process feel unnecessarily complicated. It also gave the impression that the visit could turn into something more than what was initially requested, which felt more like a setup for potential upselling than a patient-centered approach. For patients who simply want a predictable and efficient routine cleaning, this may not be the right fit. Personally, I prefer a dental office that respects both my time and the purpose of my visit.

So without a second opinion I agreed to a new crown. Her dental assistant talked me into a mouthguard which was ineffective for its purpose. Moreover, it caused damage to my existing dental work. The mouthguard was made of hard ridged material which is not recommended for people who have restorative dental work aka crowns and fillings. The pressure causes the bonding and cement to weaken and crack. Hence, I lost a crown and a filling. Dr. Prill refused to take responsibility for the damage caused by her inappropriate night guard, nor would she replace the night guard which did not fulfill its intended purpose. I am now facing thousands of dollars more of dental work discomfort, and time consuming appointments. When it comes to dental ethics, there is a term called malfeasance. This is when a doctor does more harm than good. I intend to file a complaint with the FLORIDA board of Dentistry. Here are some complaints made be other patients of Dr. Prill's. Care quality - A crown broke after only having it for 5 months. They refuse to stand by their work…read more Another crown has decay under it after only 3 years. I have crowns that were placed in my mouth 20 years ago and they are still good. This dentist office is a chain and they do not care if their work fails. After spending thousands of $'s in their office, I have changed dentist offices for all of my family. I can't spend $2000 or $3000 out of pocket every couple of months or years because my dental insurance won't pay for repeat bad care that often. They will only replace a crown every 7 years. The office staff was very rude to me and I have asked them to give me my dental records multiple times and they always say, "We will email them to you," then they don't. They will play around with your mouth and tell you work needs to be done that doesn't. They gave my husband a huge treatment plan that doesn't need to be done according to another dentist. Don't trust them.
