There are not a lot of restaurants in this area but a quick tram ride takes me to one of 14,000 in the CBD. I now know why Melbourne is voted the most livable cities in the world.

Then they decided they had to check the boot of every car . 1 security man looked in every incoming car . What were they looking for ?? Martians , moonshine ?? Stowaways ?? Anyway the traffic into to car park was slower than walking pace . That made Everyone so late they rushed you thru the ticket gate and didn't even check vac certificates. Then most of the food and drink outlets were shut, so even though there was only maybe 25% capacity the queues were massive and long . Then The security guards were so over zealous that they kept chasing down the poor kids building buckets pyramids . Crickey they were just being kids and having fun . Shame marvel you tried hard to wreck a good night !

Despite a record home crowd of 82,258, the St. Kilda Saints could not take enough of their chances as they went down by 12 points, 11.12 (78) to 9.12 (66) at the hands of the Collingwood Magpies. We had a great time back in the standing section and with lots of colorful alcohol infused commentary! I can't say that I understood everything that was going on in this hometown rival "Footy" match, but the athleticism and energy (and no pads) were impressive.

Okay, this is the most iconic stadium in Australia, and while I have been to a few Cricket games…read moreover the years, it was so awesome to see AC/DC play here after all these years. The stadium is huge and it was filled to the rafters. Getting in an out was easy, and I don't think there was a bad seat in the house. The staff were friendly and helpful, there were plenty of food stands and bathrooms. Both shows were great, especially the first one, it was magic! There was a little rain during the second show, but not enough to dampen the spirits of the fans- or the band! I hope to make it back to another Cricket game one day!

Even if you're not going to watch sport here, it is worth seeing at dusk. I've only been twice, and it is a great place to watch sport. If you don't like public transport you may struggle, as there is no parking onsite. I would also like more drinks stalls open from my experience. Also, the bathroom taps are horrible quality; the first two I tried didn't work.

Actually, this is a pretty cool place for concerts, though of course I generally end up getting the rather annoying seats right up the top, but that is because I tend to not want to pay too much for my tickets. Anyway, it is a pretty cool venue with quite a few bars, and a rooftop bar as well, which was pretty nice. People are allowed to come on the premises during business hours but you are not allowed to use the practice courts. There is a train station between this site and the Melbourne Cricket Grounds. A concrete walkway allows passage between the two major venues. Historical matches have been played here with famous people who have their name and busts erected on the ground.

The State Netball and Hockey Centre is located in the Royal Park close to the Melbourne Zoo. It is…read morehome to a number of sports teams including the Melbourne Vixens (netball) and the Melbourne Tigers (basketball). I've been here to play hockey and it is home to a number of Melbourne based hockey clubs. There are two water based hockey pitches that are of the highest quality. In fact they are of international standard. They are hands down the best hockey pitches I've played on in Australia and for that reason it is hard to give them anything other than 5 stars. It is also run as a non-profit facility by the State Sport Centres Trust which can only be a good thing.

For sports, if you're in General Admission it's easy, but make sure you're not sitting too high up on Level 3, or your view of the big screens will be obscured by the roof structures. The ground is easy to get to - by trams along Collins and Bourke Streets, or by train to Southern Cross Station - then a few hundred meters walk into the ground. There's lots of places to get food and drinks both at the stadium and as you approach. Overall, the venue is a winner.

Having said that it has a retractable roof which, when closed, makes all the sound reverberate. Imagine 50,000 mad and drunk Australians yelling at the tops of their voices in a closed room? Also because it's smaller and the seats are designed well and steep, you can see the action very well form all vantage points. Beer and pies are a bit more expesive than the G and so is entry, but I admit that I do enjoy watching games here. Oh and they have concerts and other shows like soccer as well but I don't bother with that.

Honestly, there is really only one reason why I come here and that is for concerts. Still, as a concert venue it actually isn't all that bad, and it reasonably close to the city as well. It appears they've designed the tennis enclosure with sound in mind, with all but the very small opening acts sounding amazing in the 7,500 seat 3rd court. 7,500 sounds like a lot, but everywhere I've sat has been brilliant, even being back row looking directly at the stage for Little May / Cloud Control / Angus & Julia Stone (I've also seen Thundamentals / Hilltop Hoods & Ben Howard, so gives you an idea of different genres all working well). Fun Fact: There are toilets just near door 10, that have something stupid like 30 women's cubicles. I've never had to wait, and they have always been clean - yay! (Please remember I did say I haven't been for the tennis yet!)
