Save your time and money and go elsewhere!!!! I ordered an an arrangement through their online store, as I live in Texas, for a memorial service. I arranged for pickup as I was having someone pick them up for delivery to the memorial service. On the website it states I have the "pickup" option and to call to confirm for when pick up is ready. We tried calling for two hours and no one picked up the phone. The person who was picking it up for me drove to the store and was told by the man who works there, that they're not accepting pick ups only deliveries and they would refund the money and went back inside. How are you going to refund the money if you have no idea what order to refund? How would you deliver the flowers if you don't have an address? I have yet to receive an answer. I understand the pandemic has changed the process of things but it's BAD customer service to not at least give the common courtesy to call and let me know the logistics of the order AND not get my order number for my refund!!! read more

My daughter's wedding was June 8, 2018 at Old Town Farm. We purchased all of the bouquets, corsages, boutonnières, table arrangements, flower girl petals (they decorated the basket w/o us asking- very nice), and arch arrangements. They delivered everything the day of and pinned on corsages and boutonnières, placed table arrangements, and attached flowers to the arch. I was so amazed at the beauty and quality of all the flowers and by the young lady and gentleman that delivered everything. The price was slightly less than other florists we received quotes from and I feel we got our money's worth and then some! They so carefully listened to what the bride wanted, took copious notes, attached pictures and made recommendations that were very helpful. And then the wedding! The flowers were spectacularly beautiful. At the wedding last weekend at Europa in Los Lunas the designers filled the space with gorgeous flowers. I made a large order of approximately 40 centerpieces for my company party. The flowers for our centerpieces were beautiful, but they were 45 minutes late which made us have to scramble to get them ready in time for the party which started technically at 5:00PM. I had called a little before 4:00 and was told that the flowers were on their way, but, apparently this was not the case since it doesn't take 45 minutes to go from Menaul to Yale. Placed order via telephone to make sure flowers would be delivered on my Mom's actual birthday. Was told they would call her in the morning to make sure she would be home to receive the flowers. In addition, was told flowers would be delivered by 12:00 p.m. At 2:00, no call and no flowers. Melba did the flowers for our June 2013 wedding and I was very disappointed. While I felt confident in Melba after our first meeting, I began to worry when she called me a few weeks prior to my wedding and said she realized she didn't have all the information she needed to order my flowers. This was the first incident of many that indicated a failure on her part to adequately takes notes or remember our previous conversations. I increased my budget by 50% to accommodate some large ceremony arrangements I wanted. The arrangements would be placed in urns. Melba originally told me she would see what she could find that would be similar to the ones in the photos I showed her. By the time of our final meeting a few weeks before my wedding, it seemed she never remembered this and did not have any options to show me. I offered to find some urns to use and drop them off at her shop. I spent the last weekend before my wedding running around town trying to find urns that were suitable. Without any success, I found some large, pretty glass vases that were identical to the vases I had seen in a photo online of a ceremony arrangement. I emailed this picture to Melba and had my mother drop the vases off at her shop. The ceremony arrangements that were delivered to my wedding were nothing like the arrangements in the pictures I showed to Melba. Moreover, they did not even use the vases I spent countless hours searching for. To make matters worse, the arrangements looked sloppy and poorly put together. Halfway through my wedding ceremony, they were already sagging and my wedding photographer is having to edit them out of photos wherever possible because of how atrocious they look. When I met with Melba post-wedding to address the many issues we had, she tried to deflect blame on me by saying that they expect brides to oversee the delivery of the flowers on the day of the wedding and that's why the vases were not used. Melba NEVER told me that I needed to be at the wedding venue 2 hours early to oversee the delivery of the flowers. Moreover, she tried blaming my aunt who oversaw the delivery of the flowers on my wedding day and said it was her decision not to use the vases I bought. However, my aunt made that decision after being told by Melba that she was concerned about using the vases on top of the pillars because they were unstable. If the vases on top of the pillars were unstable, Melba should have called me before the day of my wedding instead of affixing glue all over them and ruining them. Because of this I was unable to recoup some of my money by returning the unused vases. Additionally, there seems to have been some additional communication issues between Melba and her staff. I sent her 3 separate emails during the planning process, only 1 of which she claims to have received. Moreover, she claims her staff never delivered messages I left for her when I called and she was unavailable. She writes brief notes down when you meet with her and I think the shortness and lack of detail in these notes added significantly to the problems we experienced dealing with this company. I also feel she took a lot of liberty in color choices for my bouquets. The pictures of bouquets I took to her were very different than what we received day of the wedding. Again, when voicing this dissatisfaction to Melba she said that some peonies have yellowish centers. None of the pictures I showed her were of peonies with yellow-hued centers. The peonies I showed her had blush, pink centers. While this may be attributable to the inability to acquire precisely what I wanted from growers, it was just one more discrepancy we experienced with our order. When I met with Melba to voice these concerns, she said she was sorry and felt very bad after I showed her some pictures of the ceremony arrangements. However, she never offered to refund us any of our money. read more

Mary Datwyler at Melba's Flowers just did the floral arrangements, bouquet, and my floral bridal crown for our wedding last weekend and I cannot thank her and the staff at Melba's enough for the service! I appreciated that Mary worked with me to design arrangements which had a color scheme that went with our theme and my dress. Mary advised me on which flowers could be cost effective and locally sourced. She also uses Pinterest as a tool to get a feel for what will best match the wedding vision and vibe and this definitely showed in our colorful arrangements and with my Frida Kahlo-esque flower crown. Flower arrangements were done promptly, prices were reasonable and everything was clearly lined out on the invoicing. Also, we were married on Sept. 30th and it is now October 5th and these flowers are still going strong, adorning our home, providing memories of our special occasion. read more

HORRIBLE! They were so sweet at first, then they brought the WRONG flowers to our event. They were late to boot, but I would have overlooked that, until Melba and her staff were so rude about it. The most expensive flowers were completely left out, we found out over a month later she just didn't have them... yet charged us. It took two weeks of calling every day for them to answer their phone and connect me to someone in charge. When we finally got connected, we told Melba she brought the wrong flowers and left out the expensive ones, she told us to "sue her" and that we should have planned our event better. Instead of saying sorry, here's a refund for the flowers we didn't include (the only thing we asked for, we didn't even ask for a full refund), Melba mocked us and asked if we were just "broke and needed money"... It was a $20,000 event, everything went beautifully except for Melba. read more

My husband and I have used Melba's for about 30 years now. My husband is especially good about sending me bouquets for every occasion so that's a lot of flowers over the years. We have had a few occasions where there has been a mix up (Valentine's Day is notorious for this), but we have had a positive response on those very few times. Sorry to hear the gentleman with a delivery problem did not experience the same. Considering the number of deliveries we've had over the years, we have had excellent service. We hired Melba's only 4 weeks from our daughter's wedding date. Mary was our floral designer and did a fabulous job carrying out our daughter's vision and staying within our budget. She was enthusiastic, yet calm and stayed for 3-4 hours at our outdoor wedding venue (along with her assistant) keeping our flowers looking fresh through the photos and the beginning of the ceremony. If I had the option to rate a zero, I would. I will NEVER recommend anyone I know to Melba's Flowers ever. I ordered 2 bouquets and 3 corsages from Melbas for my wedding on August 20, 2016. At the initial consultation, the lady seemed irritated to go through my requests and didn't ask about any details. I had to confirm with her about ribbon color and such. I requested that the translucent ribbon not be used for the corsages as they didn't match our wedding décor. Well, they used that ribbon on ALL the corsages!!! They didn't match how we would have liked them too. They also did not match the bouquets as I had requested them to. My bridal bouquet and maid of honor bouquets were both AWFUL!!! When the flowers were given to me right before my walk down the aisle, the pink roses were dead and dingy looking (looked like they had been made a week before). The pedals were falling off and the ribbon wasn't wrapped nicely and coming undone on the stems. I had to opt from having my bouquet in any of the photographs because it was so bad. Although I was upset about the quality of the flowers, it wasn't until the treatment my family and I received after the fact that made me truly realize how horrible of a customer service company Melba's Flowers really is. My mother-in-law called the shop several times only to be told she would have to talk to someone else. She finally got in touch with Melba's son Andy. He told her he would call me (the bride), however a month later I still have not heard from him. They have done absolutely nothing to remedy the situation. Not even a simply apology for the poor quality of the flowers. Overall I have had a very bad experience with Melba's. They have poor customer service and the quality of my wedding flowers were awful. Like I stated above, I ordered 2 bouquets and 3 corsages, if you ask me I paid $220 for dead flowers that looked awful and took away from my special day. If any of you are looking for flowers for your wedding or ANY special occasions I would highly recommend going elsewhere. I am totally about supporting local businesses, however when a paying customer is treated the way I have been, it's time to go somewhere else. Don't believe the satisfaction guarantee! Melba's sent two arrangements to the same person the same day, my boss. One arrangement I ordered from our company one was from another company. The one with our company name on it was to wish her speedy recovery but looked like a funeral arrangement for someone who had died. I had used Melba's several times before this incident. I called to discuss and was met with "well maybe we can't please you at all, we close your account." Not a good customer service stance. No offer of making the disappointment ok or credit even a portion of the cost ($100 before delivery charge.) Made me look very bad in the eyes of the management of my company. I recently ordered flowers for my daughter for Valentines day.....I was actually referred by her school saying they were the best around (we recently moved to the area and I utilized my previous florist regularly) I called to place the order for Valentines Day (Monday) even specifying on the card "Happy Valentines Day". The woman taking the order sent the flowers out on Thursday of the previous week, my daughter was out of school on Thursday and Friday and when she finally received the flowers on Monday, Valentines Day, the scheduled date of delivery that had sat in the school office all weekend and were dried and shriveled.... When I called to talk to Melba's staff about it I was told that they were busy with customers in their shop....haha Apparently, at that point I was no longer a customer.... I explained to the woman that I was a customer and she reluctantly heard my situation then said she would send out another bouquet the next day.... Today, Wednesday February 15th, I get a call from another woman from the shop explaining that instead she thinks she can get me 50% off my next order.... I explain to her that I think the service I am / have received is subpar and she exclaims "I am certain you said deliver the flowers on Thursday".... and tells me that she "can't control the past and if sending out another bouquet isn't good enough then I probably shouldn't use them"....haha Amazing....what a horrible experience....STAY CLEAR OF THIS SHOP!!!!! read more

I received a plant from my sister she paid $65.00 and put the order in through FTD it was for florists choice plant basket. I received a small peace lilly with two dying lillies ( actually turning brown) in a plastic container that you get from the dollar store. They didn't even put that it was FTD or what florists it came from, so you know they knew it was awful. FTD made them come back and get it. read more

This was the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. The owner answered when I called to order flowers. I wanted a specific color arrangement for a sick relative and when I tried to find out what kind of flowers she had on hand in that color she told me she didn't have time for that, that she was "impatient" with my questions, and that if I didn't trust her to "call somebody else." So I did. Her rudeness and blatant couldn't-care-less attitude was so startling that it made me wonder how she could think her flower shop was "the best in Albuquerque." Very poor customer service.
