I also wanted to do some of the work, since I had the time and enjoyed performing home improvement. It also helped reduce the overall cost. Skydell was very flexible with this approach and we decided for the full remodel. Henry, the project manager, was good in communicating the work and the schedule. He worked through some unexpected obstacles (relocating a vent, additional support for shower) to ensure the job was completed in a very professional manner. I am very pleased with the final outcome and it has increased the value of the home.

The prices were similar and I got the sense that Skydell would be easiest to work with. I made the right choice! My kitchen was renovated within a week of the anticipated time frame and they did a beautiful job, but what impressed me most was the way they handled the complications that inevitably arise when doing a big project. They are very professional and respectful and put the costumer first. My contractor was a pleasure to work with and showed up to complete the job after I had made my final payment. and to do a free repair several months later. I will be using Skydell again when I'm ready to renovate my bathrooms.

I had to have Servpro come in and dry out the place and remove all the damaged items. Once that was done I called in contractors for quotes and ultimately chose Elite to do the work. They completely rebuilt our kitchen area and office space, including replacing the subfloor and flooring, installing new kitchen cabinets, countertops, and sink, and handling all the sheetrock, spackling, and painting. They also completed similar work in the second room and installed commercial carpeting in the office. What really stood out was how quickly and efficiently they worked. Once we approved the quote, they completed the entire project in about 10 days, which was incredibly helpful since we had already been without our kitchen for several weeks. Paulo and his team were professional, reliable, and delivered high-quality work. I would absolutely recommend reaching out to them for any building or renovation needs.

Based on our conversation it's clear that they both care immensely about their clientele - retained or not. The simple fact that they reached out personally to understand the situation demonstrates their commitment to customer satisfaction. While there was a missed opportunity in the past, I will absolutely consider them for future projects down the line. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We had a tree severely damage our house and needed extensive repairs. While doing the necessary repairs to the home through insurance we also decided to take the opportunity to remodel our kitchen and dining room areas out of pocket. Magnolia was one of the contractors we brought in for a price quote. The contractor who came out was extremely condescending and belittling - assuming that my wife and I could not afford the cost of the project. On multiple occasions the contractor made unnecessary comments related to the anticipated costs of the remodel - alluding to our assumed inability to afford the scope of the work. Needless to say we took our business elsewhere and couldn't be happier with the outcome of the work done. There are plenty of contractors in the market that will deliver a high quality product without thumbing their nose at you or assuming that they're too good for any job. If you want a company that acts like they're elite but only deliver the same outcome as anyone else - look no further - this is a great choice for you. However, I'd suggest you avoid the holier than thou attitude and find someone who will not only get the job done, but also treat you right.

Paulo and the team communicated clearly throughout the entire process, followed up consistently, and kept me informed on timing. Their pricing was very competitive, and the quality of work exceeded expectations. They did thorough prep work, including power washing the entire house along with scraping and sanding where needed. They also applied primer where appropriate and finished with two coats of Benjamin Moore paint, which really shows in the final result. They even took care of replacing damaged shingles, which was a huge plus. The crew was punctual, very pleasant, and paid great attention to detail. Any questions or concerns were addressed immediately, and they made sure everything was done right. The house looks amazing. Overall, a smooth and professional experience--I would absolutely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality exterior painting. Addendum: After the job was completed, I noticed an area that was missed (hard to catch even by me since everything was white). I reached out, and they immediately sent the team back the very next day to take care of it. That level of follow-up and care really stands out--the job was already done, but they still came back without hesitation to make it right and stand by their work. Would definitely recommend.

That said, go in expecting to project manage them. They require active management to stay on task -- I'd assume a longer timeline than what you're quoted, and there were issues with how they managed resources and prioritized the project. We reached out to Hoboken Kitchen & Bath (Tony Theodore) to help us renovate our kitchen and…read morebathroom. Our personal experience from initial meeting to final punch list and completion was awesome. We also had the added challenges of doing this from a distance since moving from Hoboken to what is now our primary home in Hawaii. We especially needed someone that we could trust and rely on for overseeing our Hoboken renovation from beginning to end since we would not be local during most of the project. Tony from Hoboken Kitchen & Bath promptly met us to do a walk thru of our project. He gave us some great ideas and we were glad to have them in order to help us with our final decision on what to do and what not to do. We wanted this renovation to be for us and also to ensure we were getting as much value added as possible from this project. Tony called out things to help us, some of which suggested things like we should expand our counter top to accommodate more storage and seating, a pocket door solution to solve for working around a small bathroom footprint, more lighting to make things more uniform. He literally made our kitchen look super customized and our bath/shower combination feel like a luxury spa and hotel. At the end of the day, he and his team transferred builder grade to customized in weeks. Tony and his team was also incredibly flexible throughout the renovation. Even as we were coming up with "what if" situations he and his team accommodated everything that was reasonably possible and within our budget, such as adding a glass enclosure to our toilet and changing the vanity for more space even as they were close to completion. He gave us reasonable updated estimates for these last minute client initiated add ons and was able to layer this into his team and their schedules. The communication was great throughout and he also kept our very strict condo association and admin team updated which we greatly appreciated for sure. Our renovation finished only about a week longer than expected but that was due to the added extras that were not part of our original scope so we were very grateful for his team being able to keep to the estimated timeline.. Lastly, we really love our new kitchen and bathroom and all our family and friends that have stayed and used our apartment to date have all complimented on how nice and comfortable they were when using our newly renovated apartment. Based upon our personal experience, we highly recommend Tony, his team and Hoboken Kitchen & Bath. We were fortunate enough to have teamed up with a skilled contractor and designer who not only cares about the work but also his client relationships. Not only did we get gain a fabulous renovated kitchen and bathroom but also a friend at the same time. See our before, during and after pics! Mahalo! Tony and team for the great experience.

I had Al repair some water damage and regrout some tile in the bath, as well as fix some minor issues around the apartment. The quote came in a little higher than I expected, but I also knew that I could rely on his quote and the quality of his work. Indeed, Al and his crew came through. I'm not sure how they managed to match paints and grouts so readily. Some areas where I expected just a simple patch up job that would leave evidence of repair actually came out looking like new. He and his crew were also creative in solving some problems with very finicky cabinet doors. I've had very mixed experiences in Brooklyn with contractors. I'm very happy to say working with Al is one of the best experiences I've had. He's not going to be the cheapest out there, but he's going to stand by his quote and get everything done to very high standards.
