Terrible customer service. I was looking to purchase some pokemon cards, which are rarely in stock. Surprisingly there were two boxes in stock on the very bottom shelf shoved toward the back. I noticed the one box was completely ripped open on the side and two packs of cards had been stolen from it, so I thought I would bring it to the customer service desk to make them aware people were stealing the cards. The other box was the same as the first and had been partially opened on the side, as if the thief was going to open it and steal packs from it too but didn't get to it all the way. I planned on purchasing the second one at the customer service desk since it had not been opened all the way and nothing was taken from inside the box. The lady at the customer service counter immediately took the obviously opened box from me as they of course could not sell it anymore, which I expected. So as I put the second (slightly opened) box onto the counter to purchase she proceeded to over inspect it and say the thief had stolen from that box as well. When clearly it wasn't even ripped open all the way and nothing had been taken from it. She frantically called her manager and told me he would not allow her to sell either one of them to me. I understand not being able to purchase the first box because it had been deliberately ripped open and two packs were clearly taken from it but the second box was still in good enough condition to sell with all the product still inside the box. But I was not allowed to purchase it due to "legal reasons". I thought this was ridiculous. The customer service representative rushed through the interaction, somewhat misunderstood the situation and over reacted, in turn losing a sale for her store and me a chance for new cards for my son. Needless to say I was pretty bummed out because it was the first time in months I had found any new pokemon product in stock at this location. I understand retail can be difficult and demanding for employees, but customers should leave the customer service department feeling like their concerns have been heard and their issues have been addressed, at least in some way. Especially when the customer is trying to do the right thing. Please do better in the trading card area with security and such, as well as patience and understanding with customer issues. Never going to this Meijer again. OMG! They stand around doing nothing but talking! Second time I've been here and Problems retrieving a Full Receipt. This Store is Horrible! read more

Christina is such a positive representation for your store. She was working in the self checkout today and helped me with multiple issues that I was having. I was trying to do two separate orders because I am also shopping for my aging parents. This required her to come and help me several times because the cameras detected things in my cart while I was trying to pay. Then she reminded me that I hadn't used my mPerks. I told her that I was having issues with it since getting a new phone and she gave me several ideas on how I could fix the problem. She also told me if I came back with my mperks she would show me how to do the automatic coupon clip, which I did know how to do from previous use. The fact that she thought of that and offered to help me with it just shows how much she cares about the customers who shop there. What an amazing employee. read more

It's Meijer how can you go wrong, sales are great. The staff are as helpful as they can be, I feel they have a lot in their plate.

Twice now, I've had to interact with the older blonde lady in customer service. This time I needed some non-stick gauze pads and there were none on his shelf period I asked her if she could call another store and find them so she sends this young kid named Jason back to the pharmacy area with me always to find out the same thing I found out period there is none on the shelf. Both times that I have interacted with her it's like she's going out of her way to help me solve my problem. That's some of the poorest customer service I've ever seen read more

Purchased a head of lettuce from Plainwell store.. When I started taking leaves off I noticed black on side. So cut into the head and found it was all black, holes inside. Was very concerned that maybe they got a shipment of bad lettuce infected with mold, fungus or worms. So called the Plainwell store and got run around until finally said wanted to talk to produce manager. She was very rude and all she cared about was having to give me a refund or new head of lettuce. I tried to tell her that I would care less about an 2 dollar head of lettuce more concerned about health issues. She said " well if you want a replacement, bring me your head of lettuce." I asked her do you really want me to walk through your store with a contaminated head of lettuce? YES if you want a refund you have to do that. WOW, sure department of health would be so proud of her and Meijer corporations so proud of her actions and NO care for public safety of health.. read more

This Meijer bottle return is outside, completely separate from the actual entrance to the store. When I walked in with bottles to return the greeter stopped me and said the bottle return is outside on the other side of the store whatever that meant. When I asked if it's in this actual building he just kept saying it's outside at the other end of the store. I freaking hate this store. Obviously I never come here otherwise I would have known that the bottle return had been isolated to the dark corner of the parking lot. Then I wouldn't have had to talk to that friggin greeter in the first place. I came here to return bottles because Meijer sells copious amounts of alcohol and take almost any brand. The only reason I rated 1 * other than that I had to rate it something is because they sell copious amounts of alcohol. Plus their sign is janky af. How many Meijer employees does it take to change a freaking light bulb? read more

They removed the changing room! This is maddening! I will no longer purchase any clothing items from Meijer. Nobody wants to take things home just to try them on. The changing rooms were the only aspect that set the store apart from online shopping. Many people I know have chosen to stop purchasing Meijer clothing due to this issue. We have taken our money to retail shops who provide changing rooms. read more

Worst Meijer around. Half the self checkouts are always broke. Employees are horrible. Poor selection of items.

I have made special trip to Plainwell Meijer 3 times this month - no power chairs, not even a wheel chair. No greeter to ask. I can only walk a few steps on walker or special cane & have to depend on a driver to get me there. My visits are not at peak times! I have several special items I can not get at WalMart so I make a good size shopping list to pick up but leave empty basketed. read more

I am sad to say that I have noticed a big decline the freshness of the produce here lately. I am concerned about that as that is one of the reason's I shop at Meijer. I buy produce from Meijer and the next day it has mold on it, not just one kind but several. Please tell me you will change this back to the way it used to be a few months ago. Also, I always end up having to make a trip to Walmart because in the Oral Care Department you do not carry the Crest with Scope toothpaste in the clear, upright tube that my husband and I have used for years, we hate the conventional tube of toothpaste and you do not carry the StainAway denture cleaner that is the best denture cleaner of all time.
