Rick's made my graduation cake, a custom princess cake, over a decade ago and so I was so happy to see this was still an option they offered. Aside from the cakes Rick's has so much to offer. The ladies were very sweet (one of them was singing in the back room some soft sweet song and it was really quite beautiful). Service was fast in the bathroom was clean! I got a smoked turkey with colby and pickles on rye bread (don't judge) and there was plenty of everything on the sandwich. My pumpkin whoopie pie was amazing, as was my peach hand pie (they had several other) and the cheese bread. Definitely a good place to stop and get some good food and snacks. I got a blueberry donut (about $1.50 ish) and my housemates got a cup of coffee. They said that the coffee was decent but not amazing. The donut had a yummy blueberry flavor but was a little stale and I could tell it wasn't fresh--it'd probably been made early in the morning. The wifi was strong and fast (ask the lady at the front for the password). There's a drive-through for your convenience if you want to pick up donuts without parking and sitting down inside. Later in the week my co-workers brought in a couple of fresh boxes of donuts from here in the morning and they were so much better! They were still warm and chewy on the inside, and the donuts filled with cream burst delectably in your mouth. On the day of cake pick up, I was done with errands at around 10am, I called the bakery to ask if it was possible to pickup the cake early. The girl on the phone sounded very annoyed with my request (I was just asking, they could have said no) and told me they don't do pickups until noon but I can still come in. So I get there and she immediately starts treating me like I was a huge inconvenience. As she's handing me the cake, she pulls out a receipt and started scolding me that pickups don't start until noon and it's right there on the website. I showed her my email receipt confirming 10:30am pickup and how there's literally two different sections with different times on their website so i was obviously confused. but she ignored my explanation and continued chastising me for the misunderstanding of the pickup times. I just let it go as I didn't want to argue but I left feeling very upset. I think management/owners dropped the ball on training staff on how handle these types of situations with professionalism and not immediately placing blame on the customer. I tried my best to smile and be friendly to her but she was starting to become defensive. There was no accountability for the user interface of their website. She made sure to make it known that it was my mistake alone. I have not decided whether I will continue to support this establishment but I won't be back for awhile.

They are open 24 hours a day, but it's hard to know that because the doors marked "Entrance" are locked and the doors marked "Exit" remain unlocked. They're not automatic doors on the outside, and they don't have handles on them either. How do you get in? You're supposed to push the wheelchair open button on the side. Many people do not realize this, and assume the store is closed. I wonder how many millions of dollars in sales they have lost because of this major flaw that they refuse to address. They also refuse to hire male cashiers and won't cash checks over $500. But that's ok for their employees because none of them make over $500. 90% of their employees shop at Wal-Mart or Save-A-Lot because they can't afford to shop to there. They also have an affinity for not promoting any of their employees unless they have huge tits.
