Store review: I am perplexed how this store is not listed on Yelp. Every single time I come here, I try to check in and it is no where to be found. I can honestly say before moving to Central Illinois, I could count on my 2 hands how many times I have visited this store. I typically prefer target with the set mark down schedule, but Meijer if you come here often is more than a grocery store. You can walk away with some crazy deals on everything from furniture to electronics. At this location I have purchased multiple red tag clearance items including 2 dyson vacuum cleaners at more than 50% off, kids toys at 90% off, electronic headsets for my xbox as low as 6 dollars each, and much more. My receipt shows my addiction to Meijer as my to date savings is in the 3000 range now. When people ask me what is the secret, there is none, you just have to come by a few times a week. Is it worth it, that is up to you to decide. Pros: never busy at lunch time when I am in town, large parking lot, cheap gas Cons: You have to come frequently to hit the jackpot as the markdowns are sporadic and could happen whenever Hidden deals: Sign up for mperks which has coupons you can clip before you come in. These include coupons for BOGO, money off gas, etc. These deals coupled with extra clearance will put you over the top. Also the pharmacy provides free lipitor, certain antibiotics, and pre-natal vitamins

Cleanest place to shop in town. I would shop here and pay more before shipping at the alternative.

They're know for their "eclair" donut and cinnamon rolls. The coffee is so-so, but the donuts are amazing. I haven't had a bad one yet. They're large, and have a nice, thick layer of icing. Well worth the price and I feel good supporting a local business.

The service was kind of slow....when we arrived, we were the only ones in the entire place but the woman at the counter ignored us for a good 5 minutes before approaching the counter to ask how she could help us. We stood there for so long that we almost gave up and sat down without ordering anything. The place was empty when we got there around 8pm, but a few others filtered in to have coffee and donuts later in the night. I got a blueberry donut (about $1.50 ish) and my housemates got a cup of coffee. They said that the coffee was decent but not amazing. The donut had a yummy blueberry flavor but was a little stale and I could tell it wasn't fresh--it'd probably been made early in the morning. The wifi was strong and fast (ask the lady at the front for the password). There's a drive-through for your convenience if you want to pick up donuts without parking and sitting down inside. Later in the week my co-workers brought in a couple of fresh boxes of donuts from here in the morning and they were so much better! They were still warm and chewy on the inside, and the donuts filled with cream burst delectably in your mouth. I definitely recommend picking up some donuts from here in the morning when they're fresh out of the oven. Going there in person...not so much, unless you're desperate for some internet and a quiet place to study or read.

I'm normally a huge fan of this bakery as the quality of the bakes are pretty good so we come here…read moreoften as you can see in my previous review. However, a few weeks ago, (6/6/26) I had a disappointing experience with a staff member there while picking up an online cake order. On the day of cake pick up, I was done with errands at around 10am, I called the bakery to ask if it was possible to pickup the cake early. The girl on the phone sounded very annoyed with my request (I was just asking, they could have said no) and told me they don't do pickups until noon but I can still come in. So I get there and she immediately starts treating me like I was a huge inconvenience. As she's handing me the cake, she pulls out a receipt and started scolding me that pickups don't start until noon and it's right there on the website. I showed her my email receipt confirming 10:30am pickup and how there's literally two different sections with different times on their website so i was obviously confused. but she ignored my explanation and continued chastising me for the misunderstanding of the pickup times. I just let it go as I didn't want to argue but I left feeling very upset. I think management/owners dropped the ball on training staff on how handle these types of situations with professionalism and not immediately placing blame on the customer. I tried my best to smile and be friendly to her but she was starting to become defensive. There was no accountability for the user interface of their website. She made sure to make it known that it was my mistake alone. I have not decided whether I will continue to support this establishment but I won't be back for awhile.

I've made stuff with okara before and like the particular flavor and texture-- it feels drier and denser because of the soy pulp, but it's something I like. I also like how not too sweet everything is. Their miso salted caramel tart was also good, I also like that they sell day-old stuff with half price. I can get behind the concept and the intention behind how this bakery is ran. Very excited to have discovered this on our trip to visit uiuc. Would've loved to try their sencha, hojicha, and genmaicha next time!

My guests agreed, because I got rave reviews on the cake. The buttercream is so light and not overly sugary, it almost tastes like whipped cream. The fillings are also all fresh and yummy. Now, I'm a big fan of dropping in to pick up a 7" cake or some individually wrapped cupcakes, or ordering ahead of I want to be sure to get a certain flavor combination. Their cookies - shortbread and chocolate chip are also to die for. Make this your next stop for a cake or just a fun impromptu treat. You won't regret it!

Those are new. I want one!" (The $5.50 stuffed cupcakes are jumbo, about twice the size of a standard one, and have fillings injected into the cake!) - "Brown sugar oatmeal is still available! Love the torched, burnt flavor of the coconut topping!" - "Petit fours!!!" - "Pretty packaging." (My 3 selections - in their individual plastic cupcake holders - were placed inside a colorful, floral printed plastic bag. Nice touch.) Standard gourmet cupcakes are $3 now, and more flavors are available than I recalled. I've recently also tried lemon lime, salted caramel, and peanut butter mousse. Generally, I'm not a huge buttercream fan, as it usually is too heavy on the butter for me, so the lemon lime and salted caramel were not my absolute faves. If I lived in this area, I would definitely want Ashlee to make my wedding or any special occasion cake!
