Went in to get a cake for my daughter for her birthday. She just wanted a cake so figured we'd just get whatever was in the cooler that she liked. Well, she found a mermaid one in display and of course fell in love with it. This was the bakery was closed. Fortunately , Dana came to my rescue and came to the display to make my daughter's day. Don't let the old school Meijer facade fool you. Yes, it looks like the Meijer typical storefront from the 80's , with all of the windows, the canopy in front, and the tight check outs with little room for your cart to move while leaving, but the store is well stocked and very clean and bright on the inside. We stopped in for a load up of food since we are boycotting Walmart. The selection is wonderful, although the people watching may not be as fun ;p The prices are competitive, and the produce looked pretty nice. Who knew Meijer sells its own brand of Almond milk? I had no clue! Pretty smart, these Dutch geniuses! The line for checkout was nothing compared to what I've seen at Wallyworld, and the customer service is awesome as well. Actually, the people watching part isn't too boring... We did see two women in line with mullets- score! Styling and profiling...it's all good here. :) It wasn't too crowded for a Saturday night either....another score! read more

I can certainly see why this Meijer store has better than average reviews. The bathroom was very clean, their selection of yarn was as big as I've seen versus some of the emptier stores I've seen in the smaller towns in this area, the store in general looked tidy and well-organized, the 1 clerk I encountered was extremely cheerful and helpful compared to some other locations I've been to. Overall a positive experience here. read more

I am not sure why things that were simple 30 years ago now with the advent of technology takes slower. Not just a little slower, it's ridiculous and they get the order wrong anyway. I can't stand leaving my home anymore but Maeijer did not disappoint with their inability to get a prescription right. read more

A+ mask use. Not only was every single employee and customer wearing a mask, but all of those masks covered all of their noses. Oh, and kudos to the woman working the self checkout who was there to assist the second we picked up the alcohol bottle to scan. read more

The remodel is very nice. One longtime problem: the wifi never works. There is signal, but I can never get online. Hard to access the Meijer app from the back of the store without wifi. read more

I went into Meijers today to buy a few bags of spinach. There wasn't any on the shelf, and I ended up waiting 20 minutes for the girl handling that department to get off of the phone with a customer. After she did, she had already totally forgotten that she was going to bring more spinach out for me. While I waited, I also picked out 2 pkgs of mushrooms. Signs all over the place 10/$10. Self checkout charged me $3.69 for the mushrooms. After I slid my debit card, the card reader just kept saying 'card read' (or something to that effect). Thought that I was going to blow a gasket before I got to leave the store. Remembered why I had quit shopping there about 20yrs ago read more

I'll give it 2 stars just to be nice. Long checkout lines because not enough are open and they don't have the "no limit" self checkout at this location.... They always seem to be sold out of basic things and the staff is just "ok".... I'll be going back to the Pine Road store from now on... read more

In the world that Wal-Mart has created, I always prefer anyone to Wal-Mart. That said, Meijer is a little old school in their offering as one of the original super stores in Michigan. I guess in the end, do I really care if the building is a little dated. The store certainly seems well stocked and has all of the stuff that other guy does. For most, grocery shopping comes down to price. in this case, I think Meijer scores well. While I personally would pay a premium to support these guys, I know thats not true for all. The check out lines are plentiful, and there never seems to be an unexpected wait. The bathrooms (located at the entrance) are again old, but were clean and honestly - I appreciate the location. I only wish one of these was closer to my home. Regardless, we make the 45 mile trek to fill our grocery list! read more

I will never return to this meijer the manager jody was the rudest person ive met not willing to help basically saying take my business elsewhere he was even rude to the cashier trying to help me so walmart it is better prices n friendlier staff read more

IIf I could rate no stars I would checkout lines are always way to long because not all lanes open it is no as bad as wal-mart. This was my go to store but now this has been several visits with the same results. They need to fix this before they lose customers read more
