These guys will try to fix what is not broken then claim what they "fixed" took care of the issue after all. Also this guy loves to take his customers to court. Appolo installed new furnace and central a/c unit in my home…read more At the time of the installation, the overflow preventer in the a/c unit was stuck, resulting in flooding my carpeted basement. The initial repair person who came to see what caused the flood was the one who told me that the overflow preventer install caused the flood yet Appolo refused to reimburse me for the insurance deductible. Two years later another (different) company came for routine maintenance and showed me that the original ductwork was poorly designed because there is a rule that there should be 24 inches between secondary ducts and the end of each main line; it is clear on most online descriptions that this is ideal for maximum air flow through the system. When Appoly did the original install I had them come back because the air flow felt insufficient and they told me it was by design because the goal is to run the unit for a long time at a lower air flow for consistent temperature!!

I accepted. About 2 hours later, after the work was done and they had left, I noticed that I had no heat or hot water. They forgot to turn the furnace and water heater back on. I tried calling them at the number they left, but to no avail. I'm no handymen, so I spent a cold night without heat. The next day I had a technician from another company come in and turn them on. He felt the furnace was still dirty and they burners were still caked (he took pictures). I hired someone to come back and clean the furnace (again). After this cleaning by a new company, the technician made the following comment on the invoice: "Found combustion chamber full off dust and lint from where the ducts were cleaned. Some of the lint was charred. Lucky there was no fire." I don't know if a good job was done cleaning the ducts. Things do smell fresher, but I do wonder about the qual;ty of the initial furnace cleaning. Additionally, there was a language barrier with the two Maven techincians who had difficulty speaking English. One thing I did understand clearly was the head technician's suggestion that I also include a tip in my payments. In my opinion, this is not a very professional organization, and I wish I had done business elsewhere.

I told my mom to call Auchinauchie because of their ratings to get a second opinion. We ended up going with Auchinauchie because their people were so much more knowledgeable and helpful. They were awesome to deal with and did fantastic work. My mom sent me pictures when they were done and it was a clean installation and done correctly. The reason I know the work is good is I own a plumbing and heating business in Kansas. They weren't inexpensive but they were excellent. Would definitely recommend.
