I've known Dr Nazar for over 14 years. Not only he is extremely professional he's super kind and patient towards his patients! I live in Morgan hill which is far from his office for years, but never once thought of changing my dentist due to the location. I've even brought my 3 children to see him as well. Unlike other dentist visits, my kids always ask when they'll go see him again. He's very kind and loving! He always explains what he's going to do and goes over each step one by one. Ensures his patient understands the process. His staff specifically Thuy is wonderful. She always follows up as promised and reminds the patients of the next steps and the future appointments. I've been coming to Dr. Nazar for 15 years, and even though I moved to the North Bay, I still make the trip because of how happy I am under his care. Even my wife moved to his care ahd is another long time patient of his. Dr. Nazar genuinely cares about your dental care and I have never felt stressful under his care. Dr. Nazar never upsells on products or unnecessary procedures. He gives advice on maintaining dental health, explains issues with clear photos, and makes sure you're informed and comfortable. Plus, the office is clean, with nice new modern equipments and room air filter since covid. A huge shout-out to his team: Thuy, who manages the calendar is top notch and schedules appointments to our convenience. She always sends reminders a week and a day ahead of time removing the stress of having to remember appointments. Sassy the dental assistant is caring, very efficient (correct X-rays on first shot). Dr. Nazar couldn't help saving my loose tooth And gap during my late 30's and early 40's . Years waited finally he made my tooth to loose. He didn't suggest how do I fix it and where to go for treatment. He didn't refer periodontist for my loose teeth and orthodontist for top front gap. Is it all general dentist do the same to keep the clients for business. He takes X-rays every year but never told me how to fix the loose tooth for years. I'm a big fan of Dr. Nazar. There are three major things I look for when visiting a Doctor/Dentists office. 1. Speed. I like to be in and out as quick as possible. I absolutely hate sitting in a waiting room for an extended period of time and this never happens with Dr. Nazar. I am almost always seated as I walk in and greeted with a smile. 2. Quality. Although Dr. Nazar gets me going at the pace of my day, I don't leave the dental chair until he thoroughly takes his time and makes sure I am satisfied prior to leaving. I have been going to Dr. Nazar for over 13 years and have yet to have a complaint. 3. Friendliness. The Doctor and his team always greet me with the most positive attitude and make sure I am always comfortable (even when my visit was during the COVID-19 pandemic). I started coming to Dr. Nazar in January. I was looking for a new dentist because my old dentist was not very good. What a difference a good dentist makes! Things I love about this dentist office: -They are on time. Unlike my last dentist, this place is ready for you at the time you schedule. -They are very polite and considerate both to you and to each other in the office. My last dentist would bicker with his staff and they would be really rude to each other. They are so calm and nice at this place. -They are very upfront with the work going to be done and the charges. At other dentists, I have had no idea what charges would be coming for the procedures being done - I would just get a bill one or two months later. At this office, they will tell you what the charge will be for the Next appointment so you are aware before the procedure even is scheduled. Also, they are really good about scheduling things around your insurance (I waited a month to get my gums cleaned because they let me know it would be fully covered under my insurance then but would have been $800 if I had gotten it done sooner) -They are quick and do a great job We've moved farther from this office but I'd rather travel for good service so I am definitely sticking with Dr. Nazar. I moved to San Jose about 4 years ago, and I've been through as many dentists in that time. None of them had given me any real reason to stick with them, and whenever I moved to a new apartment, I just found a dentist who was closer. Until Dr. Nazar. I first went to him after my girlfriend looked him up on Yelp. Close by, good reviews. I expected more of the same, but I was pleasantly surprised. I've since moved a half hour away, but I'm keeping Dr. Nazar as my dentist for many reasons: - I've never had to wait more than a few days for an appointment, and whenever I show up, I'm never sitting in the waiting room for long. They run a tight ship. - He and his staff are extremely courteous and personable. I've had conversations with all of them at one point or another, and you feel like a lot more than a patient with them. - Everyone is also professional and skilled. Even with all the friendliness and conversation, what needs to get done gets done, gets done well, and at a good pace. I just had a cleaning, and was in and out in ~25 minutes. - Dr. Nazar is very up front with exactly what he wants to do. He will explain every procedure, why he is recommending it, and explain the costs. He has always answered every question I had, and I never felt like I was being rushed or forced into anything. - He will also work with you and your insurance to try to minimize the out-of-pocket expense. He can create a comprehensive plan of work you may need done in the future, and only schedule enough procedures that will fit into your insurance for that year. He has even sometimes waived fees that would have hit me as out-of-pocket. - Finally, he actually seems to care about your oral health. A few dentists I've been to did what they had to do, and sent you on your way. These guys are great. They almost never end up charging you anything (great at working with insurance), and they can handle changes in your plans without a problem. I've been a patient since I was a little kid (going on 10 years now minimum), and only have good memories of this place. Recently, I wanted a new retainer as my old one's gotten crappy. What can I say , Compared to dentists I've been to in the past these guys are super fast and efficient and dr nazar is very attentive to your questions. This review is LONG overdue - I have been coming to Dr. Nazar now for about five years now and I have to recommend this dentist to EVERYONE! I used to dread going to my previous dentists but Dr. Nazar is very gentle, polite, kind, and welcoming that I actually enjoy getting my teeth cleaned! When I first came to the office, I had weak gums and terrible metal/amalgam fillings that were not properly molded to my teeth. Over time Dr. Nazar replaced every single one with beautiful white fillings! (no idea what it's made of) Thuy has occasionally done the cleanings and she is super gentle but thorough. She is also the friendliest, most organized receptionist and very punctual about sending appointment reminders. I love that I always get a goody bag to take home after every appointment - they really care that their patients have proper tools and knowledge to take good care of their teeth. It is located in a large shopping plaza that has plenty of parking and good restaurants and boba and grocery shopping and dry cleaning. Very convenient and easy to access. Overall I love Dr. Nazar! Dr. Nazar has been my dentist for nearly fifteen years since he started at this location. Dr. Nazar gets the highest grades possible!! If you need a dentist go to him trust me and just let him be your choice. The reasons are many; first and most importantly is his work is the best quality, you will NEVER EXPERIENCE ANY DISCOMFORT ( which sadly has been a downside of my dental experiences in the past) under his care, my crowns have been examined by a dentist friend in the past who praised the quality, he has had the SAME STAFF all these years!!! (the lovely Thuy/office assistant and dental hygienist) who will work to fit your schedule and present a happy greeting and reminder and Sally his assistant who recently retired, a dentist wife who is a part time dentist full time Mom, Dr. Nazar the man himself is happy, engaging, concerned about your dental needs and your life in general and finally as you might have noticed by now, they make the dental experiences a positive part of my self care. He was very satisfied with his service after one year and recommended him to me and our children. We have been under great dental care with Dr. Nazar for four years now. Dr. Nazar and Dr. Bonakar both destroyed my front teeth, what started out as an appointment to have my broken tooth fixed turned into 4 visits because the "fix" they did kept breaking and then led to them literally sanding down ONE of my front teeth without my consent! Now I have 1 normal front tooth and one that is shorter and shaved at an angle. I wanted to cry when I saw what they did, now I have to save money to get a professional to fix the mess they made of my mouth. I would NEVER recommend either of them to anyone! read more

I called the office to make an appointment but the receptionist was giving me a hard time on my insurance. So I told her I ll pay her personally and take care of the payment with my insurance later. While we were making the appointment I told her that I would like to skip the x-rays that she said they would take for the first consultation. I had my x rays done this year and offered to bring them to the appointment. She said I have to get the x rays done else the doctor won't see me!!! I decided this place was not right for me if they don't care about unnecessary radiation exposure to their patients. Plus don't want to deal with front staff with so much attitude! read more

The front office was so well-managed that we could get our dental care for family of four in a week. Love, love, love Dr. Nazar. My family have been going to him since he first moved into the office on Bollinger Rd., after he replaced the previous dentist whom we were seeing in the same office. He is what I would call "meticulous detailed minded" when it comes to our teeth. When he first took over the office I remember that he was extremely particular about the caps that were being created by the technician that he was using. He basically had to retrain the tech because they were just "not good enough" for Dr. Nazar to use. He would send them back. 3 of our 4 boys still see Dr. Nazar even though they have moved to Southern California (5-6 hours away!) When we moved to the East Bay I chose to use a local dentist and had my file transferred. I just didn't feel the same amount of confidence in going to the new dentist, soooo after a year of not going to anyone I returned today to Dr. Nazar... 1 1/2 hour trip there and 1 1/2 hr back to have him check over my teeth. It feels so good to be back under his care and attention. I was pleased they still had a copy of my records digitally stored so with the new xrays they were able to compare them for any issues. He was very particular to check all of my dental work and deep cleaned my gums and sealed any areas, that were likely to cause problems. I love that Dr. Nazar is a preventative dentist. He still applies sealants to my sons teeth. With all the cokes they drink they would have no teeth left if it was not for Dr. Nazar. We all feel very comfortable visiting Dr. Nazar. I never hear any complaints from my boys about going to him. One of my sons has a very high pain threshold and they are always so gentle with him and make him feel at ease ensuring that his pain is under control if there is any dental procedure which is going to touch his nerves. I have referred 2 other close friends from the bay area and they and their families have been going to him for years also. I have never heard any complaints from them about his work. I had several fillings in my front teeth and Dr. Nazar recommended that he cap them, so they would not have as many problems. It has been my experience that front teeth fillings have a habit of falling out easily and/or leaking. I was reticent to do it at first but I decided to trust him and I am pleased to report that I have no problems with the work. My husband's front top teeth were becoming very short and Dr. Nazar recommended that he also have them capped. The transition is amazing. He has a broad white smile now which before he used to hide. Even though Dr. Bonaktor is not my dentist she did a lovely job of whitening my teeth several years ago. It was quite a process and she was very attentive to the procedure. I went to several dentists in the area for myself. My kids were already set up with what I believed were great pediatric dentists. After 5 dentists I had referrals to, I went to Dr. Nazar just because I saw "free teeth whitening with...". To my surprise this was the best dentist and the type of dentist I was looking for. You know exactly what is happening and why. He is old fashion in the sense that he is very thorough and does what is best for your lifestyle. He also works very hard on cost - he really wants you to do what is best for your teeth and you. Of course he does need to get paid - but he wants to work with you! He also does not pull any fasts ones!!! His technology is up to date and results are shared with you. He is that special dentist that beats out all by so much that I have taken my kids from their pediatric dentists and they know the difference. His office does not have a bunch of fluff and kid movies (they do have a treasure chest) but he does have kids of his own AND my kids know that they are getting a better dentist! I think when kids can tell and are willing to give up movies, colorful chairs and bigger plastic toys there must be something to this dentist. Yet another dental facility that's more interested in maximizing how much money they could extract from your dental insurance. Instead of whining just like that, let me be very specific with sequence of events so you get to know about these folks better: I went for routine cleaning during early Nov 2017 (2nd Nov) and like any dentist appointment, I shared my insurance (with MetLife) details etc. upfront and they processed a claim which went through as well. During the visit, I was recommended deep cleaning, fillings for couple of tooth and they'd work with insurance for approval. After a month (1st Dec) they came back and said deep cleaning is approved but they no longer accept MetLife dental insurance (starting 1st Dec). When I asked them why they did not tell me ahead in time so that I could find an in-network provider their reply was simply that I did not ask them if they would accept MetLife. How on earth I'll know they are discontinuing MetLife between visits. Is that how a dental facility works? Do you ask during every single visit that if they accept your insurance? Front office admin (Thuy) says they deal with lots of patients and they don't remember what insurance each one has. When I called MetLife they clearly mentioned that the approval request came in as out-of-network providers which clearly shows that these folks hided the info from me. Because, at one point I mentioned that I want to use-up my 2017 dental benefits before end of year. By hiding/delaying I have no option but go to them, given the time left in the year and that's the trick they want to play. Adding to this, I took my wife for cleaning (10th Nov) and that followed a long list of recommendations such as root canal, crown, fillings etc. We took referrals for root canal & crown but for fillings they again sent for approval as out-of-network providers. 10th Nov meaning, we visited them in just over a week. They sent approvals for 1) deep cleaning for me, 2) fillings for myself for 2 teeth, 3) fillings for my wife. Aren't they obligated to inform us that we won't get in-network coverage benefits with so much work to be done? In one months' time, I spoke to them or visited them at an average of once per week and in none of those opportunities they mentioned about going out-of-network. And, with the amount of dental work they prescribed for me and wife, they never followed-up on anything basically left us with doing their job of calling them multiple times asking all the questions. On top of all, they got tired of all those questions and gave me an indication that we're asking too many questions. Apart from above 3 tasks in their facility, they also recommended root canals for 4 molars and retreating 5 existing crowns, cleaning up of 2 other teeth. It's indeed a lot of work and we wanted to be sure of what we're doing and avoid screwing further, and some of which are irreversible. At one point, Dr made a comment that it's free education he's providing. That's really an offending comment as he's not really taking me class on dental science but telling just what needs to be done for each tooth and why it needs to be done. These folks are super greedy and want to extract as much from your dental insurance, forget about them caring your dental needs. read more

I used to live on the coast and had been seeing the same dentist I've had since I was a child. But then I moved to the East Bay and didn't want to drive all the way to Half Moon Bay anymore. I started seeing Dr. Nazar because my husband had been going to him for years. He's great! He's very nice and extremely gentle. What I really love is that HE does the cleaning, not the hygienist (like at my previous dentist). I used to leave the dentist in pain because the hygienist who would clean my teeth was really ruthless with the pick but never with Dr. Nazar. Great dental office - it's time to let other's know. I've been going to Dr. Mehran for over 3-years now. He has an excellent staff and has consistently done flawless work with two highly trained dental assistants. Dental assistants are in lock-step sync with Dr. Mehrans every move - making each visit a breeze. Reasons for 5-Star: - Gums repaired - Receeding gums are now healthy - back on tooth. - 3 flawless crowns installed - at a cheaper price than my previous dentist. Teeth really feel sealed. - Modern tools, Digital x-rays, cameras, on computerized screens to clearly explain and show damaged tooth issues. - Excellent staff. Very experience and pleasant dental assistants. Sally and Thuy are great!!! - Clean - Sally always opens a clean set of sanitized tools before the doctor starts work. Dr. Mehran is pleasant, totally focused, skillful and fast. - No billing issues. Major services and out-of-pocket expenses clearly explained by Thuy or Dr. Mehran before service. All billing done by dental office. I should have written this up years ago; I'm very fortunate as Dr. Mehran as my dentist as he is the best dentist I've had to date - A 5-Star+ dentist. read more

I am terrified of going to the dentist, I had to go because of a massive pain and i had to take the wisdom teeth out and made me do deep cleaning. Went to Dr. Nazar in deep pain on all of my right jaw. Another dentist had misdiagnosed and said there was nothing he could do. It took Dr. Nazar less than 15 mins to diagnose the issue.
