To be honest, I don't know much about massages. We got my daughter a massage here a few Christmases…read moreago and she was very satisfied. I went in today and I have been in a lot of pain. She was so kind and kept asking how I was feeling and if it was hurting when she was working around the affected area. Although it feels like it's helped a little already, as long as I didn't make it worse, I'll be happy. For a brief time, my back, shoulders, and entire body felt wonderful. Money well spent. Update: I went back today for a 60 Minute massage. First, she is possibly the nicest woman alive. Second, I am glad I got the extra time. I didn't realize how interconnected it all is. The were spots just below my ribs that I didn't realize were hurting, and I could really feel a difference after. Also, there were times where I went into, I guess, a blank state. Hard to describe, but I also may have dozed off for a minute. Really strange, but you just melt into the table.

I'm so grateful that Joyce has her practice here in New Castle. I've been getting regular massages…read moreas part of my "stress-management-therapy" for many years, and have been to LOTS of massage therapists and boutiques (think Massage Envy) in that time. Joyce's practice is truly top-notch. Here is why: 1. Facility: Their office is somewhere between a doctor's office and a spa...very professional, clean, well organized and decorated. The temperature is always 'just right'. I love that it's close to Giant Eagle, as I can run an errand right before/after my appointment. 2. The Staff/therapists: They are great. I had massages from three different therapists before I found 'my' best therapist. All were very good. Cindy is terrific, and I set up a years' worth of standing appointments with her so I was always on her schedule. I love that I'm greeted immediately when I come in; no one puts on snobbish airs. I love that I'm not given a pressure job to buy packages or products. 3. Price & Payment: The rate is just a little bit less than Massage Envy, and the experience as good...well, probably better... They accept major credit cards, which is really convenient. If you are lucky enough to live within spitting-distance of New Castle and you need a massage, I highly recommend Joyce Houck.
