Data Detect were honest about the likelihood of recovery and turned around a super quick quote for the repair. They communicated in easy terms what was going on and talked through some options and ways to prevent this in future. In my case my HDD was not cost effective to recover the data so I will just take the lesson on the chin this time! Quote was provided free of charge and they even mailed the drive back out to me for free - Seriously, where do you find that anymore! Note: (just in case you are wondering) I do not work work for or am affiliated with this company in any way - infact my wife dropped the drive off and I have only emailed and spoken on the phone with them. On the day of installation they arrived with all of our devices ready to go and installed them very quickly. After a few setup issues because of our wifi (which they ended up fixing afterwards) we had a brand new smart home system that has been even better than I expected. We were shown all of the features we could now use and how to do everyday tasks like turn on the lights in certain rooms or play music on multiple speakers, it's also great being able to keep an eye on the kids outside on my smart display using our cameras!
