I would have preferred a more hands-on experience since that's part of the fun of creating a custom perfume. Pricing ranges from $85 to $120, depending on the bottle you choose, which is reasonable for a custom fragrance. This is a very fun and interesting experience but I don't think I'd go back. Let's get into that: 1. I don't understand how a perfume creating place has nothing to "cleanse" your senses between smellings. There are approximately 8 base perfumes to choose from, then they add approximately 8 scents based on your preferences to the base you choose... and you narrow that down to four options. Those get put on your skin and you go outside to smell them. Having no coffee beans or other scent to clear your palette makes this extremely confusing. Their advice? Smell your hair, skin, or shirt to cleanse your senses? ‍ bruh. 2. This should really be a two part situation and maybe the experience is better at home? Because when you put a perfume on everyone knows it blooms at different times so not being able to wear it for a long while is also something that is going to lead to disappointment. One I didn't really like right away smelled so good after a couple of hours on me. 3. Our perfumer was very nice and accommodating and made the experience fun but they do ask for tips on this service which you would not be asked for on the home kit. I also don't like that there was a verbal question of "getting the intense version" with no verbalizing of the $20 upcharge. I feel this should always be mentioned out loud if asked since not everybody reads the placard / information. 4. You can only put up to 9 characters on your bottle and I wish they would let you add more than that. As a one time thing I guess it's great, but definitely bring some coffee beans bc doing this in 30-60 mins without them was a challenge. We barely left in under an hour.

Recently I mailed my empty Another 13 100ml perfume bottle for their refill service. To my disappointment the refill of Another 13 (refilled in HP Los Angeles) was not well done and the quality I have grown accustomed. I reached out to Le Labo Dallas (highland park) with my concern with the less than quality refill. Store Manager Jesse promptly responded and agreed to reformulate by Another 13 100ml bottle at no additional cost. Yes, I will always shop this location. Thanks Jesse and your Le Labo team.
