Reading the reviews I notice they are almost all from a few years ago. This is December 31, 2023 * Woodburn Mega Foods has all the basic staples available in most grocery stores plus many items and brands needed for authentic European and Mexican cooking not found at Safeway or Walmart. * The parking lot is in excellent shape with parking spaces clearly marked and clean. * The produce department, deli and bakery look great and have a wide selection with many options not available anywhere else in the Woodburn area. * The shortage of cashiers currently does not seem to be a problem generally. There can be lines during peak times but the cashiers work steadily to get people checked out quickly. * There is a self checkout section with a person available to help with any problem. * Most of the cashiers speak English and Spanish and are friendly to everyone. As for the cashiers not being particularly chatty - I value getting in and out of the grocery store quickly. In fact, it irritates me when things are held up by cashiers carrying on conversations with customers when there is a line. The store has the warehouse look, like Costco, and is clean, fresh, and usually well stocked. Like many stores today they may be out of something due to shipping delays but I normally can find everything I need. To be entirely fair with this review, I want to split up the exterior and interior review. Exterior: 3/5 The parking lot is a disaster. Usually seen with garbage strung all over, faint lines in some places, and many repairs needed to the roadway especially on the shared path by Coastal. (A VERY LARGE pothole exists and has already cost me a tire replacement). The outskirts of the building are OK but dirty, with exception to the main walkway outside the doors, which is much cleaner. Interior: 4/5 Walking in is always a mixed bag; sometimes it smells amazing with fresh baked goods or aromatic fruits, other times it smells like wet cardboard and dust. The store is often very clean and gives off that old Food4Less vibe. Produce is always stocked and usually looks very healthy, the small bakery has a rotation of various Mexican goods (often dry but delicious, so grab a drink!) The deli/meat counter has a good variety of pre-portioned meats, seafood, and more. A packed meat freezer section makes stocking up for meals a breeze. While all pricing is within a few cents of Walmart and Winco (WareMart in Keizer), the real winner is the meat section. Most goods on the shelves can be found slightly less expensive at Walmart. Some items, especially beverages and frozen foods, are more expensive. Checkout is either great or terrible, no real in between. If they have cashiers on registers and someone watching self-check, it runs fairly quickly and easy. More often thanks to short staffing, we find ourselves waiting in line at one of two registers open or in a backed up self-check. Most cashiers have been kind but quiet. If you get a chatty Kathy type, go buy a lottery ticket. Overall the store is a pleasant experience. Lots of fresh options with meat and produce, fun baked goods, and kind (but quiet) staff. read more

Pretty much a good old fashioned one-stop shop. There is just about all the basic necessities, plus Hispanic treats in the bakery, which is quite heartwarming if you ask me. I have not seen a plethora of places that have that, and consequently will likely be back a few times. It seems that check out is not overly efficient, and the place has the feel of a warehouse more so than a supermarket. That said, if you can look past the aesthetics and just look around, I think you'll find the place to be a descent stop on your way home. I'm not saying this is a new favorite, but they are definitely worth supporting and giving a few more visits. I honestly don't understand why the other reviews are so negative, but I think a big part of it is that people have a preconceived idea of what a supermarket should look like, and this store doesnt fit the mold. It smells terrible, like a mixture of barf and alcohol. It is very stuffy and unclean.

Very, very dirty store. Not impressed at all. Smells like rotten fruit. Walked in and walked out.

Used to be four stars. Recently, no! The change has been so sudden and obvious, I suspect a change in management. Prices shot up overnight storewide. At the same time, long time favorite items were removed and choices are drastically limited. Very few product choices are available. In other words, many departments are more like a large convenience store than a real grocery. Deceptive advertising has become the new marketing technique. Sale items are hard to find and sometimes sale items are nonexistent. Shouldn't this be illegal? Sale prices are placed on the wrong shelves over the correct price for the corresponding shelf. The correct shelf is suspiciously missing any price at all. Watch out! especially in the meat department. Not uncommon to find spoiled poultry on the shelf. I recently purchased bulk quick oats but found out when I got home that they were not quick oats and ended up throwing out 3 lbs. since I already had about 5 lbs of slow oats sitting in my house. This may have been an honest mistake but with all the other problems, I'm not sure. I took a bloated can of food to the cash register to keep it from being sold only to find it back on the shelf on my next trip. The reasons I give two stars is because they still carry Mexican and Russian specialty foods. And, some items are still cheaper than Walmart but it's not a one stop grocer anymore. read more

This store is community base.They have a great varity of produce. Large selection of meat. Some cuts you do not find in other stores. And I love finding the surprise sale ideams. I have never had return any purchase. The clerks are helpful and friendly. You do have to pack your own groceries. They have a service counter that sells money orders and the like. read more

Although this is not the nicest looking store their prices are awesome! I like to purchase my canned food and boxed items here and hunt for other sales. Today I found 2lbs of cheddar cheese for $1.99 and ground mild sausage for .99¢ a pound! So I stocked up and threw everything in the freezer at home till needed. I do watch the experasion dates though. All in all I'd say give it a chance, especially if you're feeding an entire family on a budget. read more

The best produce in Woodburn. Compared to the produce departments at Safeway and Wal-Mart. More actual product, variety, fresher produce and lower prices. Bag your own groceries at check out? Well worth it, and no smashed bread. read more
