Getting up before 8am is something that does not come easily to me.
No matter how hard I try, I simply can't shift my body from that cosy, warm duvet that envelops me when my alarm goes off. No matter how early I go to bed, I never feel ready to get up. And no matter how early I try and get up, I always snooze the alarm once too many, which makes me late.
The solution to my lateness arrived at Motherwell Train Station in 2007, and has thrived ever since. Meet n Eat snack shack sits right outside the main entrance of the station, and is always queued out, especially early in the morning. I can't function without something to eat, but don't always have the time, so this wee shack is perfect for me to grab something and go.
It sells the usual, stodgy typically Scottish greasy brekkie things, like rolls with egg, sausage, potato scones and bacon, and coffee and tea. The rolls are fairly priced at around £1.30ish each, with an extra pound added on for a 'doubler'. You even get to choose what type of roll; crispy or soft.
A crispy roll with a potato scone and red sauce is manna from heaven at 8am, and really sets you up for the day. The woman seemed ok, although she did get my boyfriends order wrong, but who's with it at that ungodly hour?? read more
