They wanted me to spend more time with a crying baby because they couldn't sell me a comforter for cash without the email. I left the shop totally disappointed without the comforter. I know that might sound a little odd, and I don't mean that it was empty, but there was nothing worth even looking at, no less purchasing. That said I wouldn't not go in another branch, but one, this particular shops was a mess and two, it was not forthcoming in the children's school shirts department for which, we visited in there in the first place! My intention is not to put anybody off all Matalans, as it's not a bad place for basic essentials like cheap hosiery, however be sure to only pop into this one if you have exhausted all other resources.

It used to be pretty great in here. I bought my first expensive pair of shoes in here the day I started uni. They might not fit anymore but they're still pretty. That was 6 years ago. Now the place is rubbish. Overpriced and really shoddy. Not just that but the shoes are ugly. Unless you really want a pair of red patent platform wedges? No, me niether. Everything is very over the top here. Its a small shop and the staff have a knack of making you feel uncomfortable if you're just looking. Which is horrible when there's four of them veen if the shop is empty. It's the kind of place I hate going into if I'm not feeling at my best. This makes shopping a bit rubbish. Anyways, I'm staying in High Street Kensington and there's lots of chain stores I can find back in the U.S which is a disappointment since I'm looking for ultra cute/unique finds to take back to L.A / O.C. As I was wondering about Greenwich I saw the name on the outside and thought I'd get a quick peek at it and loved it. I bought like four random cards (these are funny and I've yet to see them in Cali) and almost bought two coats here, but I'm still on the hunt and have two more days to do so (but I have a feeling I'll end up making the long boat trip back down there before I leave). A very small, British vintage and retro clothing consignment in The Beehive store. It is moderately…read morepriced but its ranges are not very varied or exciting. There was a beautifully tailored, blue and red 1960s suit jacket, styled with a pair of red, leather, tongued pumps as a central display, but other than that there wasn't much that caught my eye. The majority of the stock is on the back wall of the shop which is dedicated to a selection of drab men's shirts and jackets, which I suppose was my main problem- in my opinion there just aren't enough women's clothes for a unisex vintage shop.

Tucked away in Greenwich Market is this cute little two-shop vintage/second hand establishment. It's well laid out and un-cluttered. I loved this shop for all the army/military gear it has and if I was still into my Am-Dram I would be here every week to steal new stock for costume. Now I didn't purchase anything here on my visit, because I am poor, but I did see some great items at reasonable prices. Like most vintage shops its got your mock/real furs and granny jumpers and tweed jackets. However it has some great choice pieces and lovely little bits and bobs.

They don't have a big range of clothing, and was nice to see that you don't have to rummage through stuff. The left side of the store was more elegant, more of the 1930s and 40s era. The clothes are pricey a dress could easily be £55 but the quality of the garment is well preserved. If I'm in Greenwich again, ill shall pop and who knows I might come away with something.
