We often walk the dog here at the weekends, and although it is quite hilly it is a good walk. The visitors centre is by the lake and on certain days in the school holidays they run pond dipping sessions and such like, which are cheap and well attended. You can fish on the side of the lake if you purchase a permit. One word of warning id your dog chases horses be aware it quite popular with horse riders as well.

They also have horses which if your not scared of them like me, you can ride. They have a nice little cafe serving hot food and bevereges. There are lots of habitats within the park, ponds, reed-beds and grassland providing a haven for wildlife, not to mention the mudflats and salt marsh which attract an abundance of bird life. The Medway Estuary is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and is extremely important for the bird life which feed along the mudflats. You can walk alongside the river, through the meadows or in the nature reserve and it is so peaceful. I find it really restful and enjoyable. The dog enjoys himself too!

I don't think it has been repaired since (though I think there are other reasons it is in the state it is in). It is one of William's castles, namely because they all pretty much look the same. It stands on the east bank of the River Medway. Rochester is the tallest keep (central tower) in England and has been the commanding presence of the city and river crossing for over nine centuries. The castle and keep take up half of the Roman-built walled city. From the 12th into the 14th centuries Rochester Castle played an important role in defending against invasion and uprising threats. After falling into disrepair, King Edward III reconstructed the castle and it was fully functional by 1400. Over the next three centuries it was, once again, neglected and vandalized until the city took command of the property. Though the castle's center wooden flooring no longer exists there are passageways and stairs that carry visitors to the top of the keep, offering impressive views in all directions. The English Heritage now has responsibility for preservation and its doors are open to the public. This castle is a must see when visting the South of England.

A very nice park beside the riverside that would be very entertaining for children of every age…read morefrom toddlers to 14 year olds. The park has loads of swings , see-saws, roundabouts, merry-go-rounds and there are benches for parents or guardains to sit back and enjoy. The car-park is free and during the summers you can buy ice-crems from the ice-cream vans standing here or from the cafe situated within the park. There is a toy-train as well in the park and you get to go round the park twice for a small fee of £1.

It also has a nice sandpit and in the summer there is a little train that you can ride on, I think it costs about 50p per person for a trip round the park. It has a paddling pool for the kids and there is a separate swimming popol which you have to pay extra to go in. The is a crazy golf course and also a putting green and a nice tea house. Plenty of parking space too.

Being situated on the A289 this park is really easy to locate for most people living in and around this area. some of the activities open throughout the year are -three golf course; - crazy golf; - tennis courts; - netball; - five-a-side football; - children's play areas including a little toy-train(£1 a ticket); - picnic areas. other attractions are paddling pools, a swimming pool(not sure if entrace fee is there or not) . or you could just strall beside the river and take in the sights of cruisers/boats on the river and gulls out fishing. In summer months the cafe is also open as are some ice-crem parlours. during the summer months lots of companies bring out bouncy castles and the area gets converted to a fair ground too with ferris wheels, and carousels etc. Parking is free and ample. All in all most children have a day full of fun and activities.
