i'm so regretful that I had spine surgery with Dr Goldsmith on 10/14/24. I was unable to stand…read moreanywhere approaching straight or walk. THis matter was taken care of in the surgery. However, immediately upon waking up from the surgery I had excruciating pain in my right leg and foot. I had an MRI and was told it was a hematoma and would go away in 6 weeks. THe hematoma went away but the pain did NOT. I got to the point where I was unable to walk or stand, period. I could not leave my house except to go to doctor's appointments. I could not walk ev en with a cane. I continued to go see DR Goldsmith and his PA Carl Durias, who basically minimized my pain and blew me off. He NEVER seemed curious about what might be going on. They kept offering me more and more medications which really didn't help with the pain and were very sedating. He said I had "complex pain syndrome", what the hell is that? He told me to go to a pain physician in town who is using a new nerve conductor called "the Scrambler" to the tune of $3500 (not paid for my insurance). I went 2X and when I got my CT scan results I stopped. My problems were way beyond "The Scrambler. In March 2025, I met with 2 Neurosurgeons and had a CT scan and another MRI at that time. From studying the CT scan and looking at the screws in my back were loose, there were 2 spinal fractures , severe stenosis with nerve compression .Both of the Neurosurgeons agreed upon the diagnoses and the procedure. I got operated again on 4/4/2025, with Dr Louis Chang, less than 6 months after my first surgery. Dr Chang had to perform a bigger surgery to revise MISTAKES Dr Goldsmith had made, and then some more. As soon as I woke up from my 2nd surgery, my 24/7 excruciating right leg pain was GONE!!!!. Goldsmith was negligent in his treatment of me. Why didn't HE order a CT scan when I was in so much pain for so long? Why. because he just didn't care. Maybe he didbn't want to see how he screwed up???? THis was and is the worst medical experience I have ever had. I hope my writing this will discourage you from having him operate on you or a loved one. Four. months out from my 2 surgery I am walking 2 miles, and have my life back. If I had not sought out some other consultations I would be where I was, 24/7 pain, not being able to walk and stuck in my house.

My husband and I both had surgery with Dr. Goldsmith and we couldn't have been happier!…read more I was referred to him by a coworker after I had been suffering with an upper back/neck issue. Dr. Goldsmith determined I had a severely herniated disc and I was able to have surgery within a couple of months (after we tried other options, of course). My experience from start to recovery was exceptional. My husband had been receiving treatment for two degenerated discs at a different practice when I underwent my surgery. He quickly switched doctors and Dr. Goldsmith aggressively treated his pain. Eventually the decision to operate was made and he had two discs replaced in his lower back. I was beyond impressed with Dr. Goldsmith's attention to my husband's care and his attention to me, as the concerned and worried wife in the waiting room! Both my husband and I now lead normal lives sans any back pain thanks to Dr. Goldsmith, whom I HIGHLY recommend!

Dr. Siram is an outstanding orthopedic surgeon. During my initial consultation he reviewed my…read moremedical records and discussed treatment options. His imaging diagnosis convinced me of the importance to move forward with hip replacement surgery. Summit Orthopedics works closely with Sibley Hospital so I was able to schedule a Monday morning surgery and overnight stay at the hospital. The Nurse Navigator Supervisor at Sibley provided information on Pre-Op procedures and an appointment with Sarah, Summit's Nurse Practitioner, involved a review of the surgical procedures and the list of medications with a review of frequency. Dr. Siram brought together a great surgical team comprised of the Sibley Hospital Orthopedic doctors and nursing staff and an anaesthesiologist. The first nurse assigned to my post-Op care placed top priority on Pain Control and coordinated a meeting with In-House PT/OT Team to review and practice the Post-Operative exercises. I completed 2 weeks of In-Home physical therapy with Potomac Home Health Care, affiliated with Johns Hopkins and Sibley. The PT specialist was exceptional: checked vitals; reviewed my medications; provided a home exercise plan that helped me to begin walking with and without a cane, before starting In Office Post-Op PT. I would strongly recommend the Dr. Siram | Sibley Orthopedic Team.

Dr. Siram may be excellent an excellent surgeon, but how Summit runs its practice has, for me, been…read moreso frustrating that I can't recommend it. I don't think its 4.9 rating is deserved whatsover given what I dealt with. Reaching anyone is hard. The website doesn't list a main phone number; the numbers are buried in a "staff directory" drop-down. When you call, you get a high-call-volume message and waits of 15 to 40 minutes. One Friday I called at 3:00 p.m. and waited a full hour, until the office closed at 4:00, without ever reaching a person. On weekends, the phone system won't let you into any menu option, so you have to wait until Monday morning. Prescription refills are worse. The patient portal has no refill-request function, and my portal messages about refills (I have proof of three separate attempts, with follow-ups) were never answered. A refill can be requested by phone, but only through option #4 on the phone menu, which nobody would find intuitively. I left that message, with all the required details, on Thursday, Oct. 22, with two pain pills left, which meant my last pill would be Saturday, Oct. 24. As of Tuesday, Oct. 27, I still haven't heard back. An earlier refill message was never acknowledged either. The portal also had problems. By my count, Summit has only five locations: an office in Bethesda, an office at Foxhall in D.C., and three physical therapy facilities in Bethesda, Foxhall and Foggy Bottom. Yet until I raised it with a secretary earlier this year, I couldn't message my provider's team at all. The choices that came up included offices in Darnestown, Frederick and elsewhere in Western Maryland, but not Bethesda. The secretary told me to type "27" in the box to make the Bethesda office appear. No patient could be expected to guess that. It was fixed not long afterward. My care with Dr. Siram, whom I first saw in February for knee arthritis, raised further concerns. After a cortisone injection, I asked through the portal about a gel injection. The reply said only that I would have to come in for an evaluation. When I did, I was told I would have to wait six months, and a second staff member confirmed that by phone. At my June 12 visit, Dr. Siram told me the wait was really about insurance coverage, not a medical requirement. That visit was scheduled for 11:15 a.m. I arrived on time and was not seen until about 12:45. Only at 12:10 p.m. did front-desk staff tell me "he was running 15 minutes late." As a result, I missed an important 1:00 p.m. appointment elsewhere in Bethesda, and the doctor's apology for an 1.5 hour wait was half-hearted. When I dared to email him about thist, his reply was, in part, the snarkiest email I have ever received from a well-regarded professional. He wrote that my health was "a two way street" and that it was "incumbent upon [me] to ask questions." He said my own curiosity about treatment was "paper thin." I believe it is the doctor, with vastly superior knowledge, who should do the probing and informing after a condition has persisted. I would gladly share that email with the practice's management. Then came calls and texts over about three months from an unfamiliar Minnesota number saying a prescription was ready. The caller would not identify herself, the drug, or the pharmacy, and the texts urged me to call an 800 number or lose the prescription. It looked like a scam, and when the texts did not stop, it became bothersome. Eventually a caller told me the drug was "a gel something." I had never agreed to a gel injection, and none was ever prescribed for me Summit as far as I knew. I called Summit, spoke with a "Dan," who apologized and said he would fix the problem. Still another text came ten days after my first call to Dan; it was only after my second call to Dan that the text messages finally stopped. The medical expertise at Summit may be strong, but unreachable phones, unanswered refill requests, long unannounced delays, and confusing communications make getting care here needlessly difficult. In my view, going to Summit Orthopedics is a mistake.

I was gonna need pins and so the hospital gave me him as a referral and I'm really happy they did. DR Gasho is not only knowledge, friendly with a dash of charm but hes a no BS kinda DR. He gives it to ya straight but always with a smile. I'm not an insurance person, I was paying for this surprise medical care all out of pocket and DR Gasho worked double time to give me options I could afford to fix up my broken self. Not a lot of people would do that but he did. His office staff are amazingly nice and they always remember me. My surgery which I was super nervous about went off without a hitch. DR Gasho was patient with me and my nerves and got me out of there fast. He even helped me take camera phone pics of my post surgery wired up hand so i could gross out family and friends on Facebook. That's going the extra mile for sure! All my follow ups were on schedule and went super smooth from scheduling, to office wait, to x-rays, to billing. I was actually kinda sad when he said i didn't have to come back anymore. If you wanna be mollycoddled by some god complexed, daddy type, he might not be your guy, but if you want a GOOD doctor who knows what he's doing, has a great staff and will work with you and your needs all while smiling.. then run don't walk to DR Gasho if you ever need an orthopedist. Seriously he's the real deal.

Instead, he inserted the needle and then took an X-ray afterward to verify the placement (ex post facto). Unfortunately, something went wrong, which worsened her condition and increased her pain. I tried to contact him for the next week to seek guidance. After 10 days, he finally answered my call, but he was very irritated and started yelling at me. When I asked him to calm down and lower his voice, he warned me that he wouldn't say anything more and then hung up the call. I don't know if he was having a bad day, but that's no excuse to treat patients --or anyone-- like that.

I researched a handful of physicians and was impressed with the reviews I discovered concerning Dr. Condrell. I weighed the few suggested drawbacks against the abundance of positive remarks, and decided to give him an opportunity. I contacted his office that Monday and was given an appointment the following afternoon. I will admit, I was apprehensive about how quickly I was able to get an appointment as a new patient. In my experiences, this is not a great sign of the physician's competency. I was sorely mistaken. Dr. Condrell sat with me in his office, listened intently to my healthcare history, asked relevant questions, and purposed the consideration of alternative options. I am rather objective and critical of medical professionals. It was pure luck that I was able to get the appointment so quickly. In this case, I was treated like a person rather than a patient the doctor had to deal with. Dr. Condrell is understanding and empathetic to the situations/difficulties his patients are experiencing. He appeared well versed in current medical trends and shifts. Nonetheless, he also comprehends the fact that science does not explain everything. Hands down; if you need a good doctor who is upfront and understands the need for personal medical care, rather than a 15 minute slot, give the doctor a call.

The lack of professionalism was overwhelming. Took me six months to get an appointment with Dr…read more Condrell. Then I sat in the exam room for over an hour, as I listened to him treat other patients through the walls. If this is what has happened to the practice of medicine in America then it's time to rethink the system. Unsurprisingly, my prescriptions were entered into their electronic system incorrectly.
