My review will be solely for the aquatic therapy. I love having pool therapy here because it is individualized one on one therapy. The pool therapy that I attended before was a group of 15-20 people, so it was more generic. I've been suffering with moderate to severe pain in my lumbar region for the past 5 years, and even though I know how to stretch, therapy is really helpful in my recovery journey. The next 7 days after my first in pool therapy, I felt the effectiveness of it. So excited to complete 3 more sessions here! read more

I couldn't feel more happy or safe in my recovery ... And trust when I say, this has been a very long road. I haven't been able to walk on my left leg for more than 2-1/2 years. After my last surgery in May 2022, I did my research and found Select PT Park Terrace for aqua therapy. My instincts were spot on. This is my healing place where a miracle is happening ~ I can walk on my left leg for the first time in 2-1/2 years. Between Lisa Ngo, my PTA, and seeing Magic Johnson's jersey (#32) on the wall in front of the pool, it's hard not to feel inspired here. I can hear Lisa's voice even when I'm NOT in session with her, gently reminding me how to take proper steps, move the joint (but not too aggressively), muscles and legs in ways I began to think were beyond my reach ~ a hard place to fall for a former distance runner and life-long athlete. Love their aquatic based therapy. Benny, one of their PT is amazing. Has helped a lot with my back related issues and mobility issues. I wish they were open five to six days a week, as they are only open for aquatic therapy three days a week. It's affordable and they accept most insurances. read more

Not a good experience. I had a 3:25 appointment time but after an hour I left. They clearly stack appointments. There were way too many people in the waiting room. When I said I had to leave because I had other commitments and had been waiting an hour, the receptionist just shrugged. I won't be back. read more

Medstar PT has been such a refreshing physical therapy. Before I started going to them back in May, I was afraid because this was my second surgery on the same shoulder! Walking in I felt like this was going to be hard telling them what my dear was. Tamar, Thomas and Stephen has been there for me every step, challenge, hill, Valley that I had. I am so grateful.... Rude and not helpful receptionist made me go there once and never went back. The therapist himself was alright

1 stars by reviewers for very good reason! The lady in charge is rude and extremely condescending. Didn't get her name because she didn't introduce herself. They see mostly workers comp., so I guess feel entitled to treat people like garbage because they have nowhere else to go. Very sad. Except for the guy who was there to do PT, the other two were not nice. Given that I had surgery through my own private health insurance (that I'm lucky to have!) due to nerve compression, I also had a script from surgeon. I told whoever called who assured me there wouldn't be a problem. The script was snatched out of my hand "to make a copy." Lady in charge came in and I explained situation. Like I said, condescending and didn't introduce herself. It was taking way to long so I went to see what was going on. A whole little group. They were making phone calls. I didn't even finish paperwork giving them permission to be doing so and don't know who any of those people are or who they were calling. "Lady in charge" said that I should be grateful they're doing so. Excuse me? I agreed to get copy of script. Zero communication as to what the problem is. HIPPA violators.. discussing right there on the lobby waiting area too. My best advice for anyone reading is to pay for your own health insurance even if you have to work more. When your claim gets denied by your nasty and hazardous employer and his insurance company, you have options. Otherwise, you'll have to deal with people like this. By the way.. it's a dirty, run down place with very old equipment in a very old building. read more

I had a wonderful experience here! My boyfriend and I both were suffering with agonizing neck pain from an uncomfortable bed. We decided to get acupuncture (my first time trying) to relieve our symptoms. Doctor Joukar was quite helpful, relaxing, and also quick. I didn't even feel the needles go in. The next day my neck felt so much better, I would definitely recommend Doctor Joukar for acupuncture. read more

I am about to finish my 16 appointment this coming Thursday, and all I can say is that the whole staff are caring and super friendly. They make you feel so welcomed and care for. The reviews below are not relevant as of now, and the Front desk lady is super friendly and caring, I had to reschedule several times and she ALWAYS worked with me. I have only seen 1 male Dr, and He knows his stuff. And the Therapist, they are all Amazing, respectful, friendly, funny and super caring and attentive to all patients. Please take this review from someone who has done customer service most of my career life. So if you want to heal properly from your injuries, go to Medstar. Such a great place to get physical therapy from. They have great stretches and weight exercises for you to do. I definitely feel like I've gotten help since coming here. The physical therapy guys are great! They're so funny yet so professional and helpful. I'd recommend this place to anybody. My pain hasn't gone away, but it's definitely helped with my mobility. I love the staff here and the help they've given me. I'm so thankful to have gone here for physical therapy. If your insurance allows you, I'd definitely recommend coming here for rehabilitation. read more

This place is a JOKE!!! They don't even deserve one star. I went for my first pt session. My appointment was with older white female doctor (I use the word "doctor" loosely). Mind you, I never met this woman and as she gives me some pathetic movements to do. As I am doing this, she proceeds to tell me about her political views, her lack of respect for public safety and her views on Mexico. I have never experienced such a disgraceful behavior and unprofessionalism by a doctor or for that matter anyone who has provided me with service. I was disgusted by her overall demeanor! What a disgrace to her profession! This place is old, out of date equipment and exercises. If anyone recommends this place RUN the other way. I'm sure medstar physical therapy will over bill worker comp for a fifteen minute session too. read more

I was in an accident in Jan 2017. I've been dealing with a heavy achy feeling ever since. I describe like the after-feeling of when you get a flu shots. Just heavy. I've tried many treatments and therapy's and nothing seem to be working. Finally, I am one session away from finishing my acupuncture and I am happy to say I feel like I am about 75% better in my arm! There's a high chance I am coming back for some more to hopefully be 100% better with more sessions. Dr. Joukar is a really intelligent dr! He is very informative and also very welcoming. I learned that acupuncture helps with SO much more than what most people know. Also! It is nooooot painful. I think the anticipation of prick is worse than the actual prick. Highly recommend. The ladies in the front are also very sweet!!! Love all around. The only con I have to say is that the hours at the office are very specific. I went for acupuncture therapy for my neck with Dr. Mehrdad Joukar. I had a great experience here. It was easy to fill out paperwork, the front desk was very nice and helpful. This was only my second time going acupuncture treatment and it was very relaxing. I went in with a lot of pain but I felt much better after treatment. Make sure you make your appointment on time with room to fill out paperwork because appointments fill up and the office is busy. read more

This Place is ridiculous. The doctor sees you once and does not seem to have a clue about anatomy, she is a sweet old lady though. The receptionist Jess is completely rude whether you are checking in, calling with a question, or trying to schedule an appointment. Erika (the "therapist" is also pretty rude unless you're a single guy close to her age, she doesn't pay much attention to you. You are shown on your first visit what exercises to do and after that you walk in and she tell you to get started. The whole place is rundown and moldy, equipment is old. The only good thing about the whole place is the male PT whose name escapes me, but he always has a smile and actually checks in on his patients. read more

Soooo, I was referred to this office for both Acupuncture and Physical Therapy. My acupuncturist, Dr. Kim is LOVELY, great work - i feel rejuvenated afterward. This review is for the office itself and physical therapy. First of all, the receptionist seems pissed most of the time, not friendly at all and when I had the audacity to ask when I was going to be called in as I had arrived on time and was waiting almost an hour, she got very prickly and said we are very crowded today, to which I responded, why were so many people scheduled at the same time? I dont want rushed service etc _ then her superior (i assume) stepped in and i was called within 2 minutes (imagine that) I noticed while I was there for acupunture, a bike, and some other physical therapy equipment but in a narrowish area, Im used to seeing a larger area where you can actually, you know, exerise and then smaller areas for individual treatment like tens or ice\heat etc. I've even been to therapy where there was a group treatment area but a very large exercise place. So I wondered where the acutal therapy was going to take place. When I arrived for therapy, there was a wait, and I was escorted into the same office I have acupuncture in, that was large enough to hold 3 massage tables with curtains in between. NOT enough space to even spread your arms from side to side. The PT aide was wisecracking, animated, cheerful non stop talking to the point that the doctor wasnt able to address me for several minutes and he looked chagrined and apologetic at the aide's antics. He asked me some questions, had me move my arms abit. obviously did not review my file. Then he left, said hed return shortly. The aide then popped up and said would you like to exercise (at this point he SHOULD have had a chart filled out by the PT with reccomended exercises based on his evaluation). I said sure, he said ok, what hurts? I was a bit confused and told him my shoullder, lower back, wrist and he proceeds to get me started but I ask him, wheres the chart\exercise, what did the doctor instruct - he dismissively stated, "Don't worry, I have all the exercises memorized!" I said I dont feel comfortable that you are taking my subjective opinion on pain and deciding what I need. At which point he again dismissed me, stating :Don't Worry, Don't Worry, I know everything what to do" I again said I dont feel comfortable with that, so he got pissy and went to get the Physical Therapist. PT comes back, apologizes, apologizes and explains we are over booked they gave me 5 new patients at once (hey buddy, doesnt mean you can marginalize this appt), etc etc. He shows me some stretches, he has me use the big rubber ball, he then starts manipulating my arm and when I wince and tell him yeah it hurts where I had surgery, he jumps back upset that I didnt tell him? He had not read my file nor asked about it, I ASSUMED he knew, its why I was there, OMG, So I asked him for sheets to take home with exercises listed\explained (normal procedure request) he says we dont do that, so I ask , how am I supposed to follow this at home? He leaves and brings me some sheets that have NONE of the exercises he wants me to do but he glanced at it and said yes, these are okay but dont do these. ?? What the actual .... . I asked him if any of the exercises he had acutally recommended\done with me are there. Well no ,he said, I make those up, its my own program, they are not listed anywhere. ??? I cannot say HOW HORRID this was. ridiculous, no place to actually do the physical therapy, inadequate space was coupled with the cold reception. I have canceled my future appointments (with the cold receptionist) and will be returning, only because Dr. Kim is lovely and her next closest office is in west covina. read more

Having been teated by PT all over LA, I came here and was amazed by the expertise and care for the patient not ever seen anywhere else. The professionalizm and support is elite and do not worry about the looks of the place, just think of it as an old Gym. It is owned by Gold Medalists and Olympic athletes, so they do not care what a place looks like. Just don't use the elevator! (just kidding) read more

Okay I don't know who "Sylvia" is in the comments, but she for sure does not work there anymore. My lawyer appointed me to this physical therapy place after my car accident, and I definitely received the best treatment. Ellie, who works in the front, was very helpful in making sure my appointments were on check, all the papers and forms were correctly done & filled out. The aids were all really helpful with my exercises and making sure I left the office feeling better each day as I got closer to my discharge. Very professional, organized, and helpful place for getting the best physical therapy treatment. read more

This place sucks. 1) The main receptionist is a giant idiot. She's unorganized, incompetent and completely unhelpful. I asked her if there was anything I needed to know before I came in to my appointment, doing my due diligence because I know that many people who work in the health industry are in fact morons. Of course when I show up for my appointment she's neglected to tell me that it's cash only (that's right they don't take checks here) and then has to go ask her manager if I can hold off paying for a session because she didn't tell me that they don't take debit card. 2) The PT workers here (with one exception) are generally lazy and... SHOCKER... also incompetent. I went here twice a week for six weeks. My Tuesday therapist, Rosa, only put two electrodes on my back (instead of the four that she should have as recommended by Wednesday therapist Carmen, who was very nice). When I asked Rosa about the discrepancy she looked at me like I was an idiot. She barely massaged my back or took any time to see if I was healing. In short, Rosa sucked... alot. So, don't go here if you're thinking about getting PT in Glendale. It is a house of shame and incompetence. I cannot stress this enough. It sucks real real hard. read more
