I was referred here for Occupational Therapy (OT) and received excellent service. My therapist, Caroline, is professional, knowledgeable, and nice. She provided me with specific exercises and practical tips that have significantly reduced my pain. I did notice the staff can be stretched a little thin, tending to two patients at once, but Caroline is an impressive multitasker who manages both efficiently. While this setup seems to be just how the business operates rather than any fault of the staff, the care remains great, and I highly recommend Caroline for anyone seeking quality OT care. read more

Been coming there for the past two months and I couldn't be happier every appointment -- with Spencer sometimes and Sharlene others -- I get great care, friendly advice, and a 95% better shoulder. Three more appointments and I'm sure I'll be at 100%. what more could you ask? read more

I first came to Select Physical Therapy two months ago, due to severe "tennis elbow," which came about after playing several hours of pickleball. At that time, along with having almost constant elbow pain, I was unable to fully lift my arm to greet friends and neighbors. Fortunately, I began working with Spencer Mar, who thoroughly assessed the issue with my elbow...and, then, set up a viable treatment plan tailored to my needs. As I began making progress, Spencer modified and tweaked my various exercises each week. As my elbow is now completely back to normal, I am forever grateful to Spencer, who truly an amazing Physical Therapist. read more

Great place but the staff is stretched a little this tending to two or three patients at once. This leads to a lower level of detail with how you lift and correcting your form that is no fault of the staff, just how their business operates. When you're paying $100 a visit it seems like you're missing half of that experience. read more

I will never come here again! If you want to see improvements, stay away. I received shoulder surgery and was referred to come here by my surgeon. No one answers phone calls. Each session is a mess. A therapist will be working with another patient at the same time and is unable to be in two places at once. You don't feel cared for at all. The equipment is either broken or outdated. The tables are dirty. Instead of getting better, I got much worse. This company is terrible and one place is worse than the other. Stay far far far away!!!! There are much better clinics in Glendale/Los Angeles that are not Select. read more

The staff here is really kind and patient. I have been coming here since 2021 and I've had a total of 12 visits. Jasmine and Nicole from the front desk have always made scheduling easy and convenient. They have a lot of patience when it comes to scheduling and always make sure it works out. I have been seeing Carlo for my past few visits and he is great. He takes the time to listen while I explain where I may be feeling pain throughout the session and gives very helpful exercises that really help ease my discomfort. Day 1 : Evaluation by head PT Everyday after Day 1: Exercise/stretches/massage performed by PT students in training and never saw head PT again after the evaluation. I have chronic back pain and a "degenerative disc." Honestly didn't get any better from 6 sessions here ($600 out of pocket). On my 4th session the PT student asked me if my pain was lessening from the sessions to which I replied no. If anything, my pain was worsening. And the PT student's solution was cupping therapy which did absolutely nothing for my chronic back pain. This is the problem. I told them I wasn't getting better and they didn't have a solution but continued to take my money. Currently im working with a PT (who has one pt student that shadows) that is actually helpful. And he told me in our 5th session that he has given me all the stretches/exercises/tools that i need to lessen my pain. He told me that it would be a waste of money to continue seeing him once a week if my pain didn't get better. read more

Emily and Linda always there to help us with any questions that we have. Scheduling an appointment or anything else. Super friendly and helpful staff. Every time I'm coming they are welcoming me with a big small. You can book your appointment a head of time which is very convenient. The name is changed to "Select Physical Therapy". Dr. Carlo Maclang is very knowledgeable and helpful. My mother is super happy with him. Also, I can see a big improvements in an effective way to my mom health. The treatment I received was sufficient (done mostly by a student in training), however the billing practices are horrible. I received a bill for $ 150.00 almost two years after I spent about 3 months getting treatment approximately 1-2 times a week for a neck/shoulder issue. Since so much time had lapsed since my last treatment, almost 2 years, I thought it must have been a mistake on their end. However I kept getting bills and and even a collection notice. Geez! Finally I called the company and they gave be blah blah - blamed it on the insurance company. They lowered the bill to $68.00, so I just paid it - even though I don't feel it was justified - just so that this bill wouldn't go to collections and ruin my credit. I definitely don't recommend this place, the stress having to deal with a bill that's over 2 years old made my neck pain come back. read more

I utilized the services of this place during the pandemic era. This was relating to an issue with my back and I am happy to say that the physical therapy I received put me on the right path and I have not had any issues or pain since then. I have to give a shout out to "Carlo Maclang" who was the PT I was assigned to. He is a young guy, but was very knowledgeable and I had a sense of trust with him after my first consultation. You could tell that he enjoys his job and that was refreshing to have in an era where everyone is chasing a paycheck. I don't think Select has a a Yelp page for their new location on Verdugo. So, I will leave a review for this location. The experiences I have had at Select have been some of the best healthcare experiences I have ever had. Glen Gomez is, not only an incredible physical therapist, but an outstanding human being who knows how to express compassion and empathy to his patients regardless of the context. Furthermore, Glen has helped me understand my body and the best ways to listen to it and care for it. I have found that to be the key to recovery; the actual physical therapy undergone and the education you must apply to your daily routine. As a testament to his abilities, I'd like to express my deepest gratitude for just how well my body has healed from injuries I thought I would sustain for years to come. This practice receives my highest recommendation and will always be my first choice in the future, should the need arise. I'd also like to mention the rest of the staff, as well. I have been treated by Dr. Linda for two different injuries that happened independent of each other. First one was sprained ankle. The pain and swelling were under control by the treatment sessions and exercises she prescribed to me. The second one was a recent pain in my shoulder. After evaluating, Dr Linda told me it's caused by the way I'm sleeping at night. I have been told to use a specific pillow and perform a series of exercises to remedy the problem. She is very caring and thorough in her evaluations and treatments. Follow-ups were always something I was looking forward to..... wish I could give her 10 starts. read more

Apparently Hunt has changed ownership. We had an appointment on 2/2/2018 and called 2/1/2018 to try to reschedule. Left MULTIPLE voicemails and no response. Finally went online to double check if I had the right telephone number. Yes, I did. Called the new owners Select Physical Therapy and they said they will let them know I need an Appointment as I called the main 800 line for customer service since this place was not answering. No call yet. Today I called the Select Physical Therapy to again see what I can do. My father's authorization is for this location only and did not want to start a new process for health insurance authorization. I was on hold for over 40 minutes and finally left a voice message. Hopefully people have better luck than I have this past couple of weeks. read more

I have been to Select Physical Therapy on Verdugo twice for lower back injuries. Each time I have been treated by Glen Gomez. He is phenomenal! Glen is an expert with sincere empathy and wholistic attention to my total being. I have returned to my full mobility during both sessions and learned how to avoid future injuries. My knee was a problem too which Glen was willing to address, and it has improved dramatically as well. The entire staff is efficient and caring. Jesus monitored my exercises carefully making sure every piece of equipment was thoroughly sanitized. Emily at the front desk is efficient and welcoming. I actually enjoyed my physical therapy at Select Physical Therapy in Glendale. Everyone was very pleasant & professional, including those at the front desk. And, they all seemed to know exactly what to do, even when I saw someone I hadn't seen before. The facility is very clean, & follows strict COVID-19 protocols- I never felt uncomfortable or concerned. They had all the equipment I needed, & the staff ensured I was doing the exercises correctly. I greatly benefited from their expertise, & now walk correctly after a partial knee replacement with no limp. I especially want to commend Roy-Carlo Maclang, the Center Manager & Physical Therapist. He is very knowledgeable, & I felt he provided excellent oversight, & also hands-on treatment. This is the only place I'll want to go if I ever need physical therapy in the future. When 4 other physical therapist gave up on my 80+ yr old father, who was losing his ability to walk, Hunt Physical Therapy stuck with him. Over time he became wheel chair bound, but they continued to help him exercise and increased his ability to transfer and get in and out of the car, use the bathroom and increase his quality of life. Came here with a referral from my doctor after a snowboarding accident. I didn't know what to expect because I had never been to PT before. I just knew I was in constant discomfort. To be honest, I did not expect to feel better. I was wrong! Glen helped me regain motion and alerted me to problems in my stride, posture and seating. I actually started looking forward to PT because I felt so much better after each visit. I couldn't believe that my insurance covered this kind of care. The assistants were also really cool. This place is a joke. Same thing that happened to Dvh V. happened to me... Same scenario but with my shoulder after surgery. Guy hurts me, says its something else, drops the cancer word asks about smoking. WTF, really, where is your PHD degree?? After 3 visits, not going back, calling my doctor and complaining. Just give me the exercises and let me do them by myself at home and save the big O some $. for the most part PT is a scam! read more

I had back surgery on 3/5/13 and I was looking for a location close by to my house to get the physical therapy that I need. I found this location online. I said what the heck I'll try this one since there is so many. The first day I met with Glenn. he made me feel comfortable. I get a good vibe from this place. Location is nice and super clean. Carmen and the other person sorry cant remember her name are freaking AWESOME !!! I still have lower back pain but then again. I just had surgery 2 1/2 months ago. I would recommend Hunts to everyone. I am not a person who likes to exercise, but, after many sessions at Hunts, I am convinced that this is the place to go. I have been treated for different arthritis and related problems, the PT who has been treating me Dr. Linda S, is excellent-- she gives you personal attention , and will walk you through the exercises to do at Hunts as well as at home. Dr. Linda S knowledge is extensive, and she will take her time to answer all your questions. My Doctor referred me to Hunt Physical Therapy for two separate injuries. The Staff - everyone from the front desk to Linda, who oversaw my treatment and progress -were professional, courteous and patient. The Assistants who guided me through the various routines were informed, patient, friendly and kind, with a good sense of humor. Both injuries have improved 90% and I hope the final 10% recovery will come with the exercises I was given to do at home. If not, I will ask my Doctor to send me for a few more sessions at this facility. read more

Thank you so very much, Hunt Physical Therapy! The major hamstring injury healed without surgery, due to the exercises and stretches you devised and I performed. The injury is 100% repaired. I can walk, sit, run, all the things a human enjoys doing because of your in-depth knowledge of the human anatomy and the exercises/stretches required to repair as well as maintain good physical health. I enjoyed the workouts, even in the very beginning when they were less than pleasant. I enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, the easy going attitudes of staff and other patients, and the gentle pushes when I was being less than 100% for any reason: I didn't think I could when, in fact, I could- just tired that day, whatever. There were several patients there that expected you to wait on them hand and foot, who were less than energetic with their attempts at exercise/stretch, or were obviously not performing the exercises/stretches on their own time as required. These were the folk that complained that they were not healing well, not seeing progress. I understand "hitting the wall" and not getting over "the plateau", and you understand this too. YOu know the difference between lack of participation on your patients part versus hitting the wall. Thank you for your patience and your professionalism! I just completed my second visit here but am already in love with this place. The receptionists and my PT team - Peter & Chris, are awesome. Initial visit was great and they were very perceptive to my levels of pain and provided great feedback for improvement. The exercises that they give me work perfectly for what I am seeking PT for. I was dreading going to therapy in the beginning but now actually look forward to it and cannot wait to see my progression at the conclusion of my treatment. Highly recommend them! read more

AWESOME place. After getting no results from a physical therapist in Pasadena (another Matrix owned company) for a torn hamstring, I left in disgust. Lucky me, I found Hunt Physical Therapy (and Stevenus). All of the PTs are attentive and pay close attention to the smallest detail - you can't get away with sloppy form or slacking here! They are ALL so nice and supportive with great compassion for all sorts of injuries - patients range in age from teens to seniors.
