Still a terrible place to live. They are doing open houses now, BEWARE they lie and make it look appealing to live here. They've raised the rent twice in the last 12 months. The water still gets shut off frequently, with little to no warning. A lot of tenants are moving. We are also moving, thank goodness we are month to month now. Nothing changes here, laundry room is super expensive, floods and doesn't dry/wash clothes well, $2.75 to dry a load and it always comes out wet still. There are cat EVERYWHERE, we had an issue with some of the male cats spraying in the stairwell. Watch out when you walk around, there is always dog poop and trash everywhere. My father's car was broken into parked infront of the apartment. Parking is scarce around here. If you want a second parking spot it'll cost you 100 a freaking month extra. The spots are super small and people will ding your doors. Honestly don't waste your money applying here, they're soooooooo desperate to get people to move here that they are constantly texting us about "picking" our neighbors, what a joke. They offer you a 500 dollar referral, I wouldn't try moving in my worst enemy for that, even they don't deserve to live in this crud pile. read more

After management failed to respond to my emails, texts, and phone calls about the first robbery, we removed anything valuable and put a new lock on it. This morning the entire lock is missing. If you are looking for a place to live, DO NOT, I'll say again DO NOT COME HERE! The water gets shut off numerous times through out the year due to faulty pipes. Just had the laundry room recently remolded, see attached phonies how it looks within a month. It's flooded several times and multiple washers and dryers don't work most of time. People continue to throw their trash as if this were the DUMP! You'll will never want to have visitors, people are so lazy to lift the lid so they just throw trash up against dumpsters. Parking stalls have trash, beer bottles, baggies with drugs, car seats, containers, car hood, etc., total eye soar. The parking lot lights were out for over 3 weeks (not the first time), no one from notified or acknowledged they were out. I sent an email stating I was going to contact Public Health, a few days later lights went on. Supposedly they were waiting for a part. Car ports are falling apart, paint job is horrible. Limited hours to swimming pool, but Maitenance is allowed to be out there after hours. We have neighbors who clearly appear to be involved in drugs, people coming and going at all hours. They for the last 2 weeks have a huge beehive outside their patio due to excessive amounts of recyclables out there. Supposedly they're waiting on clearance from Consensys to approve someone to come out. Children have already been stung. There is a small space with a rod iron fence connecting the car ports where a homeless person is living. See attached photos, they put up bamboo and a blanket to disguise. I can go on and on, take my advice this is not the place to bring your family, unless you prefer Section 8 atmosphere. read more

Sara is so bad at her job, that they had to hire an assistant manager, ever since she came here, she has been cold, rude, and very unwelcoming, and if we had a problem, it seemed like we were bothering her when she didn't want to be bothered. I had a major problem with my kitchen sink last year and she literally told me "there is nothing I can do" I had to call the emergency maintenance line, because for whatever reason, the maintenance here doesn't work seven days a week. Hopefully the new assistant manager, King will be better than Sara. WATER: There are major water problems here. For a little over a week 12/4 to 12/15 we had NO HOT WATER. AND, the office was CLOSED the ENTIRE time with NO EXPLANATION! I've tried calling the property management line, and when I did get through, we would get the run around. "they're working on it" "we don't know when it will be back on" It was very frustrating. Rather than getting real plumbers to work on the problem, they had their maintenance crew working on it. We had our water turned off at least once a month this year, I have all the text messages saved. So clearly, there's a water problem here that they don't want to fix for whatever reason. Expect a lot of water problems if you live here. It was so bad, that KTLA 5 news and the Health Department came out here. If that's not a cry for help, I don't know what is! Residents that were affected were only given $100 rent credit for all that. I guess that's better than nothing. Any other resident here can tell you the same thing. PARKING: Parking is really bad. You're assigned one spot, and then you get a sticker for your second car (if you have one) and you can park in the "first come, first serve" spots in the back. Expect dents and scratches on your door, because the parking there is tight. Don't bother parking on the street, unless you want your window broken into. CATS: There are quite a few stray cats that hang out and that people feed and they leave their droppings and scent all over the halls. What does the office do? NOTHING. LAUNDRY: There are supposed to be TWO units, but they haven't fixed the other, smaller one yet. That's where the water heater is. Hmmm...maybe that's the reason. There is a larger laundry room on the other side, but I just go to the laundromat across the street. I'm not a fan of the aggressive Speed Queen washers that put holes in my clothes. Laundry is money on an app. I haven't tried it, and don't plan to. KIDS: Kids ride and yell around on their skateboards and scooters all over the complex. It's kind of annoying when you're trying to check the mail, want to take a nap or want quiet time. I feel bad for them, I guess they don't really have anywhere else to play. POOL: Pool has been quiet this year thanks to covid, but when it's open, people play loud music and act like they own the place. Depending on where you live, this can get annoying, especially when it goes on after 10pm. All in all, it's an OK place to live. They really need to fix the water problems and Sara needs to go. She makes me uncomfortable. By the way, she lives here too, so I'm sure she sees all the water problems herself too. I haven't worked much with the Assistant Manager, King yet, but hopefully he'll be better than Sara. We are planning to move out very soon, and I can't wait for that day. The five stars goes out to Michele !! She is absolutely helpful and had great customer service when giving my husband and I feed back for the unit we were interested in. They had great deals/specials! And incentives for people to move in and save money. However the apartment wasn't exactly what we were looking for although the Size of the apartment was HUGE! and has a really cool den with an extra bathroom! But our concerns we have for this property was the layout. It seems a bit awakard, with the sink/bar being in the apartment. If the owners of these apartments remove that bar/sink and make that into a fire place or stackable washer dryer with closet and upgrade the kitchen. THEN I WOULD DEFINITELY MOVE IN ! And I'll be willing to PAY MORE !! read more

Do not move here! During my stay water was turned off countless times, my car was broken into, notifications such as the parking lot pavement repair were given the day of, trash would be everywhere due to some of the tenants, I could go on and on. Even after my lease was done getting back my security deposit was a hassle and I had to wait more than a month to get it back. The new management never apologized for the inconvenience either. A news story was done about this place just google Mediterranean apartments KTLA 5. If you don't think this place is shady, Stephen Jones, who works for Consensys property management, gave a five star review on google reviews to boost the rating lol read more

Stay far away from this place. I lived here for almost 5 years and couldn't wait to leave. No hot water from time to time at least twice a month. Terrible plumbing issues that they do not want to fix. And when I moved in August 2022 they removed all of the trees and grass that hid small animals and rodents. I'm thankful my family decided not to live here. Our time applying was a nightmare. The on site managers are rude, unhelpful, and inconsiderate . The Consensys property management company policies are opportunistic. They have multiple open apartments and I can only guess tenants are leaving once their leases are up. We saw 6 empty apartments and decided to read the reviews (which are all bad) and immediately cancelled our application. I would listen to the other tenants and avoid this place entirely. read more

It's embarrassing asking a family member or friend if you can take a shower at their place of residence, because you can't get a straight answer from management or the main office!!! The new secretaries AFTER Minnie and Mereva are very rude! They can not help with anything. If you need something done with a request you need to call it in or do it online ONLY. One of the ladies is VERY RUDE! I've had several encounters for help/ requests and it seems like we ( tenants) are inconveniencing her with any issues we may be experiencing. If anyone can help with getting their superiors contact info that'd be greatly appreciated. I DO NOT recommend living at these apartments with those ladies working there. Three stars, if managers Karen and Liz are still at the helm. When my better half and I lived here years ago, we were inundated with gang issues around the complex: taggers doing their thing EVERY NIGHT on a wall right across Santa Gertrudes. (Hating this garbage, I made calls to the county's graffiti-hotline department each day to get this crap cleaned up. Happily, staffers did their thing dependably and well ... but that's another Yelp review in the near future.) Anyway, the morning after a piece of tagging appeared on the grounds Karen and Liz made it abundantly clear that tagging would not be tolerated. "There will be NO warnings," their memo read. Soon enough, they gave the gangies who lived directly above our unit the boot. Sweet. Parking is always at an extreme minimum -- that's why you'll find about 600,000 cars parked in front of the site. And here's hoping that the air-conditioning system has improved since we last rented here: A lone "cold box" in the living room blasted air directly at the side of a love seat, and nowhere else. *le sigh* Anyhow, the grounds are pretty: If you like greenery, you'll enjoy it here. Where to start. first off, when receiving a tour, they make sure you don't get too comfortable and they will rush you. You won't find the flaws until settled in. A list of my personal apartment (which I have cross checked with other owners so, i know it is a common issue within the complex.) - Poor craftsmanship in construction such as gas lines and water lines going right through the center of cabinets, splitting wood, incomplete molding, horrible hole patch jobs all throughout apartment, ETC. - Cheap cardboard thin hollow wood doors - some power outlets are not conveniently located (such as the only counter-top space large enough for a microwave contains no outlet. you have to reach around with cable to get power. - Phone jack is just a hole in the wall with a cover. no wires or hook up, just a square hole in the wall (confirmed by other tenants, so not just my apartment) - black mold all inside bathroom wall between dining room and restroom (on our layout) - Fireplace does not work - the free wifi offered at pool has very bad signal - Office will sometimes close early and take an unscheduled 30 minute lunch break sometime between 1 and 3 every day - the pool and spa have way too much chlorine and will burn your eyes just from the steam - the pool is always locked for whatever reason without them letting you know ahead of time - they will periodically turn off the water without any notice until a few days AFTER they had done it - the on site laundry service is $2.50 per load plus $5 to buy a card to start. This isn't bad, but your laundry will get stolen or messed with anyways and there is a laundrymatt right across the street for $2 cheaper. The washers rarely work and the dryers may take two tries and smell like horrible mildew. and this was just my apartment, but there was a huge crayon drawing inside my closet and maintenance told me i would have to leave my home to let the "paint dry" for a few days. I am very happy our one year lease is up and would only recommend these apartment's to my worst enemies. The fact that these run $1100 for a one bedroom, i would expect better ethics and craftsmanship. read more

What is wrong with the property management of this place? It boggles the mind that in this day and age business owners totally ignore the outcry of the customer they should be taking care of! It has to be because they're in jail for allowing people, especially children, go without hot water for days. Constant backing up of the bathtub and toilet with poop water coming out all over the floor. Maintenance is NOT 24 hr !! They will take days to come and put a bandaid on the issue. You will never have hot water or any water to use as a matter of fact. Constant broken pipes. You wont be able to use the pool as it has been closed for 3 years, mosquitoes in all of the turned off water fountains growing Algae. The car ports are so small people ding your car, people block the red zone to where you cant pull your car out of the port. There is no parking for your second vehicle dont let them tell you there is because that never happened for us. There is no parking for any visitors. People break into your cars and there is so much vandalism throughout the complex. Thee office never answers your calls and they are always out of office supposedly. I lived in Mediterranean Apartments from June, 2018 to Dec, 2020. I had an amazing experience there. The neighbor is great and maintained well. The staff are cordial, friendly and professional. Both Ginette and David are amazing. All our maintenance work were taken care of quickly by David and Ginette always ensured that all of our concerns and issues were taken care of. It's not that there were a lot of issues to begin with!! I had to move out because I wanted a bigger apartment and there wasn't one available in mediterranean apartments that I could afford. I received almost all my security money back within 2 weeks of moving out. read more

If you have more than one car i would suggest you never move to this complex. dont be fooled by the green grass and water fountains (that is if they are even working) the work inside the aprtments is crappy. the moliding doesnt reach wall ends rails for stair are coming off along with many other "Mickey Mouse" issues around the unit. they will tell you they respond quick to mainenace calls and they do but hardly make any repairs. when i complained about my AC unit they came in leaked dirty muddy water all over my carpet then said nothign was wrong. the day i moved out before i finished celaning my boxes they were in taking the unit out wonder wwhy they never did that for me while I was the tenant. This place is pretty lovely, green, fresh, clean, parking is the biggest issue I encounter, cars get towed frequently, so your parking place for sure won't be taken lol and of it is the tow truck will catch them in no time. Laundry facility is clean and they have bunch of machines and a place to fold with lots of light. I heard breaking into cars as I was leaving this place didn't experience it myself but security car always rounding don't like people hanging around, which is pretty cool. The rooms are not huge but they do just fine. The pool is awesome. Spa once as well. Very clean. Mail is nice that manager keeps big packages for you. That's really awesome since I used to get a lot of packages and never lost a package. I recommend this apartments. read more

Pros: 1) Management is super responsive and care about tenant satisfaction. 2) Green grass!! They actually water the grass here and take care of the aesthetic appearance of the complex, generating a pleasing look around you. A pool and a hot tub and water fountains across the complex. 3) Rent is reasonable. 4) Community events take place each month. Free pizza, Christmas presents, games, etc. 5) Private security patrols 24/7 and is quick to respond. But if you get the couple of bad neighbors you're better off calling the cops because those few people don't respect the private security. Nine times out of ten the private security will suffice. 6) walking distance to a nice park. Close to shopping like Target and Vons. Close to Leffingwell elementary school and one of the least expensive ARCO gas stations around. Cons: 1) thin walls... Some tenants are respectful and try to be quiet while others don't seem to understand that everyone can hear them yelling at each other. Its a roll of the dice on neighbors. 2) no central air, the wall unit keeps the living room cool but you'll need several fans and/or a portable A/C unit to make other rooms comfortable. 3) Parking spaces are tight and can be difficult. For a 2 bedroom we got one assigned spot and a general spot. The general parking is first come first serve and you'll learn the trends quickly. If you have an SUV or a truck you'll need to be super skinny to get out of your car, the spaces are close together. 4) Even though there is green grass you're not allowed to take a football or soccer ball out and play. So if you have kids go to the park down the street. read more

This place has incompetent unprofessional and racist management from corporate to the manager Anna in the office Carla Incorporated is very ignorant to the fact! Never would they give you a direct answer the receptionist you asked who's her boss you never get a reply they give you the runaround you go through you applied it's yours submit the paperwork then when the worker called they said I didn't qualify wow because of my credit then you get various credit scores that they go by. But at the end of the day my credit score was 7:34 when I started of course I haven't been to work cuz I'm sick but this company horrible first they said it wasn't pet friendly I go pets walking around it is pet friendly but I was denied that one, then they turn around tell me to apply for another one I applied they submit my certificate paperwork as another unit because they're incompetent then they turn around and say I don't qualify 3 months to say that yeah we have a problem don't waste your time or energy! read more

Wasnt sure if Id qualify to live here..With Alison showing me around and submitting my app and Minnie going above and beyond blessed us with our apt in the perfect location! The complex is nice inside. That is if you ever find parking. I recommend this place to someone who lives alone, has only one car, and who doesn't like inviting people over because even if you did they couldn't find a spot all night. Parking nightmare. Yes you can get on the list for another paid parking spot if you live here 5+ years. They need to fix this. People cannot live normal lives with just one spot and no available parking after that. One of the top reasons we renew our lease = Rent is super reasonable. The walls are very thin and since it is VERY family friendly there is always little kids running outside early in the mornings screaming/playing (can rarely sleep in on the weekends). I do not rec living in a downstairs unit ESPECIALLY if there are little kids living above you because it is nonstop stomping and running around all the time! AC is only a small wall unit in the living room so it doesn't even reach the bedroom = stifling hot in summer. Living rooms are pretty spacious for 1-BR. Plumbing is frequently an issue; always turning off water for hours during the day, clogged toilets, etc. Parking is a nightmare if you have more than 1 car, lots of times you end up parking 1/4mile down the road if you don't get a spot in the property (tiny spots to squeeze into!). The pool is freezing which can be good or bad depending on how you like the water :) During summer there are SO many kids at the pool - its like a daycare center. They're pretty good and prompt about replacing broken/non-working items in the apartment. They do have security patrol at night. Good place for Biola students (cheap & close to school) and many live here. Bottom line is probably- move here if you have a family, need cheap rent, can sleep through anything and don't care about new/state of the art apartments! read more

I WAS happy when i moved into this place! Pool, Jacuzzi and fireplace all included..but i have not even lived in this property 1 month and my car has been vandalized and broken into 3 times. Honestly, this review isn't in regards to the apartment itself. I had a place there for two years. A place to live is a place to live in my opinion. I'm fortunate enough to have a roof over my head, and all the luxuries I have. This is about management and the individuals running the place. The review is solely based and comes down to compassion and where our attitudes as humans are going. It's really terrifying and unacceptable in my opinion. Management here was really nice with Minnie & Co. Even when stuff broke or the water went down, things were handled the right way. Now everything is so micromanaged it's disturbing. The management is horrible. They feel like they can do anything they want to you, but the second you make a mistake they jump all over you. The hot water has been shut off for days at time, and the actual water itself has had to be shut down for long periods of time as well. Maintenance is usually pretty good, but the process now has you call and honestly it's more hassle then what it's worth to even let them fix it. Might as well just do it yourself. However, if you as the tenant do something that may not be right, they jump all over you, threaten, and actually charge you for it. When asking if tenants get a credit for the water being out for days, the washers and dryers being down, or anything for that matter they say "we are trying to fix it". And honestly that's what it comes down to!!!!!Everyone tries!!!! You just get penalized for it, and they don't. That's why there's an issue. It just comes down to basic compassion and humility. People now just want to take advantage of everything they can without giving back. It's an issue for all of society, and this place is not any different. It's more sad then anything to see how people treat others, but I guess that's the world we live in now. Hopefully things change for the better, but for now it is what it is. read more
