When they moved into an assisted living facility, I thought I would be able to help them from a far. Not so, I learned that two elderly ladies do not really want to talk about their personal needs to a man. I was stuck, too far away to really know if they were getting what they needed. Unforeseen circumstances required I get help. I did not know there was something like Aging Advisors even through I had been researching online about what help there might be. After getting a referral, I finally called them; it was looking like I was really needing some help. I had a long phone conversation with Soni and decided right away that Aging Advisors needed to be on our team. When my stepsister was unexpectedly hospitalized Ruth became the primary contact for me. As a nurse, she was able to translate some of the information I was getting from the hospital and then at rehab she went out and bought my stepsister a proper pair of shoes to help with her physical therapy. I needed to provide a new mattress and bedding for my stepsister for when she returned from rehab. Soni gave me advice and recommendations on what she thought would work which I ordered and had delivered. It was perfect. I looked forward to Ruth's wellness visit updates on their physical and mental wellbeing. Since they would not share any personal information with me the updates were especially important. My stepsister again went to the hospital for what we thought was just a routine checkup, but it was not. Things went south in a hurry and the doctors told me the situation was grim. I asked if they would let her mother make a last visit, it was the height of the Covid-19 issues, and they said yes. I called Ruth, late at night, and asked for her help. Without question, Ruth got to work. She called the facility to have them get my stepmother ready to go out. After picking her up she drove her to the hospital and stayed with her while she said goodbye to her daughter. Back at the facility Ruth called from the car and we both spoke to my stepmother about what to expect. Her daughter died several hours after that and then she died about a month later. Thank you, Ruth, and Soni, your help over the couple of years that you worked with my family is very much appreciated. The help and confidence you gave me, being so far away, was immeasurable.

The presentation was designed for patients and caregivers who were being impacted by incurable neurodegenerative diseases. Rob offered his time and expertise to educate us about the need to deal with Power of Attorney, wills, and the protection of assets as we all maneuvered through the ups and downs of the diseases we were confronting. We contacted Rob and he spoke to us about the issues we needed to consider as we tackled the disease that had suddenly impacted our entire family. He was very patient, extremely thorough, and most compassionate about what we were about to face and our need to be able to deal with the pitfalls. He did not pressure us, in fact , he was most careful not to impose any strong suggestions about what we should do. We heard from the medical team at Penn Med that Rob was highly trustworthy and recommended. We asked him to represent us and have absolutely no regrets, in fact, we are grateful. Rob and his team have patiently guided us through the corridors of "legaleeze" that are essential to getting home health care, great medical coverage, protection of assets, establishing wills and Powers of Attorney, these are all vital for us as my wife struggles through an incurable disease that is robbing her of her ability to move, speak, and sometimes think unemotionally. Rob and his team provided the patience and understanding we needed as we were ignorant of the processes required to do all that we needed to undertake. He or a member of his team responded almost immediately when we posed a question, even on weekends or early evenings, the professionalism that the practice exhibited was remarkable and most welcome. My family and I have nothing but praise for Rob and his team who worked with us, Sheila Buek, and Heather Scurti, they are as compassionate and patient as Rob has been. Sheila provided constant support as she quelled my fears about the process and outcome. Heather has done a remarkable Job guiding us in obtaining home care. Rob knows his stuff and has the personal touch as he advises and helps clients through the most difficult times in their lives. Dr. Steve Wysowski caregiver for wife Anne

Mr. Russell Morgan is a competent attorney. However, he depends too much on delegation. It is…read moreperfectly fine for an attorney to assign legal drafting to a competent paralegal so long as whatever product that unlicensed legal professional produces is CAREFULLY reviewed by a licensed attorney. Furthermore, while a paralegal can certainly assist in legal research, they should not be the ones doing legal counseling. When a client calls the office with a substantive legal question, someone licensed to practice law needs to answer that question. Attorney Morgan's prices for estate planning are high compared to other similar firms in NYC - they are not unreasonable but on the higher end. Regardless of what you are paying for legal services, you should expect competent representation, but when you are spending a premium, you expect to see the value. At the very least, you should not wait months for straightforward legal documents to be produced, nor should you have to constantly chase down the attorney to keep the ball rolling. And no matter how high-end or low-end a law firm is, you should never receive a final document littered with errors. However, that is precisely the experience Mr. Morgan provided. We received a deed document transfer that had the wrong name listed, the wrong LLC listed (one that was not associate with us at all), and the wrong buyer attorney listed. And no, it is not as if they sent the wrong documents because the information was correct in some places. The issue is that Mr. Morgan delegated the drafting of the document to someone who did an incredibly sloppy job, and Mr. Morgan failed to review the document before having us sign it. Worse was that there was very little accountability. Yes, he apologized when the situation was brought to his attention, but then he proceeded to make numerous excuses, one being that the company he uses to draft the documents doesn't usually make mistakes like that. Even if that is accurate, and this is a rare mistake, he still obviously did not review the documents before having us sign and notarize them. If this was a review for the final approval situation, fair enough, though even then, it's not a great practice to send your client documents that haven't been proofread. But again, this was a notarized document with several glaring errors - unacceptable. I am sorry, but there is never an excuse for an attorney to produce delayed and sloppy work. I. do not care how busy your firm is, part of being in this profession is knowing how to manage your case load. You either need to hire more attorneys or accept less cases, but what you cannot do is send out legal documents that have not been reviewed. This was not only an unpleasant experience. I dare say it was incompetent to the point where I am seriously considering contacting the Bar.

The first step was an introductory call with Rob where I explained my circumstances in detail and he outlined the steps involved in the process. From the outset, it was obvious he was an expert with an abundance of experience in this area, he was a straight shooter and a refreshingly genuine and empathetic person. He didn't sugar-coat the fact that the Medicaid application would be a lengthy process and somewhat arduous for me, but emphasized that he and his staff would be there every step of the way. The process took 6+ months and entailed a significant amount of communication and no shortage of questions on my part. Both Rob and his paralegal staff were extremely responsive, never hesitated to schedule a phone call for assistance and figuratively held my hand throughout. While the fee for these services is not insignificant, considering the number of hours his office invested on my behalf as well as the protection I'd have as a result, the cost was more than justified. Working with Debra Speyer was a powerful and unforgettable experience. This was one of the first…read moretimes I ever hired an attorney of her caliber and one of the first times I paid what was truly right and fair. It was worth every single penny and more. Debra guided me through a very difficult guardianship case with precision, grace, and unmatched expertise. She brought peace and strength into a process that could have easily been overwhelming. From our very first phone call I knew I was in the best hands. She was calm, clear, and incredibly sharp. Her ability to think strategically in real time, her steady command in court, and her deep understanding of the law made all the difference. This situation could have ended very badly in someone else's hands. It had the potential to become protracted, messy, and extremely expensive. But Debra stopped that flicker of a flame before it had the chance to spread. She stomped it out with focus and strength before it ever got off and running. If I had known her when I first became guardian, I truly believe she could have saved me thousands of dollars, countless sleepless nights, and spared me from so much confusion and stress. Everything would have been in order from the beginning and this hearing likely never would have happened. I still count my blessings that I found her when I did, before it was too late to turn things around. Her opposing counsel even complimented her expertise immediately following the hearing and shared that it had been a learning experience to witness how she handled the case. That moment said everything. I truly have no idea when Debra sleeps. She works around the clock for her clients and does it all with NO caffeine! Just focus, brilliance, and a deep commitment to doing things the right way. She is always thinking ahead and completely tuned in. What really sets her apart is how exceptional she is with people. She knows how to read the room, feel out the opposition, and guide you through the unexpected. She has a rare gift for helping you manage not only the facts but also the what ifs in your mind. Her presence alone brings clarity and confidence. Her background speaks for itself. Debra has been featured in Philadelphia Magazine's Best Lawyers issue, selected as one of only 154 out of more than 14,000 attorneys, and was the third youngest attorney ever named to the list. She is also listed in Whos Who in American Law, Whos Who in America, and Whos Who of American Women. She has appeared on national television, published widely on elder fraud and investment law, and is a trusted voice in both legal and elder care communities. I also want to recognize Marcy, her assistant, who was absolutely wonderful throughout. She was kind, responsive, and always helpful. Every conversation I had with her left me feeling supported and at ease. Having an assistant like Marcy made the entire experience feel even more human and accessible. It truly matters when the people behind the scenes treat you with care too. Debra made me feel seen, heard, and fully supported at every step. She leads with heart and brilliance and I will never forget what she helped me accomplish. If you are looking for an attorney who is both exceptional and compassionate, Debra Speyer is the one. She may come off as direct at times, as many analytical and focused professionals do, but make no mistake. She listens. And that direct nature will lead you directly to your goals. You need it.
