At first sight this place has a calming effect and atmosphere. The plants, simple wood decor and inviting interior welcomes you with open arms. I just loved this open space that seems ripe for socializing. I ordered two types of empanadas as I was told they are known for these. I got the organic chicken and the portobello mushroom. The first thing I noticed is that the crust has flaxseed and looks super healthy without any colors or preservatives. For $6.50 I found the empanadas to be a little small, and not as generous in the filling. The chicken empanadas could definitely use more chicken. The portobello mushroom filling was delicious, but I do think they need to dry it out a little bit before they fill it because biting into it, scalding hot liquid poured all over my face and that was not pleasant at all. The sauces that came on the side were absolutely delicious, the cilantro was so thick and delicious, and Herb-y and the chipotle sauce was also made very well with the smoky kick to it. Would that being said, the space is actually really beautiful and as a yoga enthusiast, I cannot wait to return here to try some of their Vinyasa yoga classes. I would say 500 dollars is not a small amount for anyone. Classes were never delivered. The artists/instructors were never paid. Instead, the gallery kept all the money. I had tried multiple times over the course of a year, sent multiple emails only to receive bullshit emails leading me on. Claiming to offer refunds but just wasting my time and taking my money. They call themselves a supporter of the arts. But they don't support artists. They don't support people who want to support artists. In the middle of a fucking pandemic. Shame on you.

Two things artists really can thrive with are having space and community and that's what Trestle Art Space is all about. The spaces are clean, well maintained and beautiful, and the community is friendly, supportive and encouraging. If you every have the chance to work with Trestle, be it with your own studio space or attending a class there I could not recommend it highly enough.

I had an incredible time and learned more about the space. I was told that there are a lot of free shows throughout the summer, which is really cool. This show, however, was ticketed. Some of us assumed the ticketed portion would have seats, but we were more on the grass side (which was fine, but next time we will be better prepared with lawn chairs). For those going here for a show, you cannot bring any liquids inside, not even water, but you can bring water bottles to fill up while you're in the park. There were plenty of food vendors, cocktail vendors, and portable restrooms. The lines were very long for the drinks, but because the venue is an open space I did not miss a minute of the show while waiting to get some wine. I'll definitely be back for more shows throughout the summer.
