To be honest if I could give them no stars I would. I understand that we got hit by a hurricane but to be the only/biggest internet provider in the Valdosta area having the most outages still is crazy. It's been 19 days since we got hit and my area is not expected to get internet until the 31st of this month! At first it was the 5th, then it was the 11th and the the 17th then the 18th and now the 31st! And then the only solution that they can say is we will credit you on your next bill but we are still expected to pay for services that we do have access too. So yes the quality of the internet is also not worth having them constantly raising the prices every single year. So if I could rate them lower I would! You may be saying why stay with them... In my area Mediacom is the provider that we have access to. So we have no other option. read more

Realizing that it is 20 times more likely that a person will post a bad review when they aren't happy than a good one when they are, I have to put in my two cents. I would not have any other company than Mediacom provide my internet service. We have been with them for many years and have very little problem with the customer or technical service. Yes, it goes out on rare occasions, but they are always diligent to get it back on as quickly as possible. We use Roku streaming since we cut the Dish Network cord (there's a bad review) and have had only minimum issues with the internet connection. It is worth every cent we pay for Mediacom high speed internet. There, that's my two cents. read more

Interaction w Mediacom What's been happening is very slow speeds. I called to reset system thru automated and it didn't work. I go physically into the store on 1/04/2020 to replace the modem. It seemed to be little better but it was consistently losing fast internet. I called to get tech out to house. First appointment Wednesday between 1-3 pm. Someone shows up Tuesday. Gets me set up. Told me, they didn't split the lines for the 5G so that'll explain why it's slow. Come Wednesday, another tech shows up. I told him someone came yesterday and resolved the issue. I get a call, missed the call, message to call back bc I didn't answer, They can't close out the appt ticket. I call back, advised why I'm calling back. They said it's closed already. Ok. I ask if credits will be given. Only for 2 days because they weren't aware of this issue. I mentioned I came to store to replace modem. Yes but you didn't call. Why would I need to call if I'm physically in the store to resolve the issue? So the lady pushed back that most things don't connect to 5G anyways and you were using 2.4G so you did in fact have service. I didn't have the energy to explain that the tv would log off wifi and keep asking me to log back in. It's so slow, I log out of WiFi in the house bc the 4G data on my cell is faster. I've even used my cell's hot spot to use my laptop to email invoices and stream Netflix on my TV. She gave me 2 more days. To be honest I did not have 5G displayed as an option in our house for months. So we been paying for 200mbps speeds for months without the actual 200 mbps. Fastest we were getting was 5-45 mbps for at least 6 months. We just work hard and been on the road so much we didn't notice till recently we been home more to actually try to enjoy streaming. Long story short, bc we're in the country, they monopolize here and most of us don't have the option to go w another internet provider. This will explain how they operate business. So I really need Verizon to expand Fios in little towns like this so we can get better service. read more

If we can give a. -10 that still would be to good for them, they are the worst!!!! They are just like Slum Lords, they take your money and do nothing to fix the problem. Our Internet is always going out and all they do is put a bandaid on it. Until the next time which is only day's later. And all they do is pass the buck from one person to the next. WORST INTERNET EVER!!!! Despite their lying commercials, you will NOT find customers around here that are so satisfied with this company's internet. So why do we use it? Great question. Unfortunately it is the only fiber internet that reaches many places in our area. I guarantee though, the first company that comes in and has better and more reliable service will get SO....MUCH...BUSINESS!!! The only thing consistent about this service is the unreliability of it. My computer says connected yet my websites say no internet. Drops 3-4 times a day! Trying to explain this to customer service is such a hassle. The agents they send out to work on the problem fix it long enough for them to drive away. No joke, minutes after they leave, the problem returns. Slow speeds, inconsistent, and like so many others have said...THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!!! I can't even begin to tell you how much I can't stand it. As if that isn't bad enough, the cost is ridiculous for the level of reliability. Ha even as I am typing this I see a Mediacom XStream truck driving through the neighborhood. When they "fix" something down the street, you can guarantee that ours will mess up soon thereafter. New to the area? Don't listen to their commercials, we are NOT satisfied. They just don't listen. The absolute worst company I have ever worked with. They will overcharge you and provide you with the worst customer service ever imaginable. Their product is AWFUL as well. The internet never works and we have to constantly reset our router. When we had a service appointment set up, the men didn't know how to fix it and they left us without answers. Review on installation We had to wait two full weeks for them to come to our area. Apparently they only come for two weeks spans, so if your internet goes down, well hopefully its when they are in the area. He laughed when I asked. The installer was very kind, but in the end I, myself ended up getting it up and running. He told me "I've troubleshooted everything and I don't know why it's not working. When "he" gets home "he" can try to fix it." I had no idea who "he" was, he said "your old man". Although I am a woman I can fix things too, gender should never play a role in it. When he left my house I did not have wireless internet like we would be paying for. With enough googling I was able to get wireless internet, no thanks to the sexist Mediacom installer. read more

The worst company and service I have ever experienced!! Pay almost $200 a month for just cable and every time it rains (even a small shower) it starts pixelating and after a few minutes we lose our cable for hours. Have had company out here multiple, multiple times (been going on for years and getting worse). It is obvious that it is the old lines going down our street but they do nothing. I am about the only one on the two blocks that have not given up Mediacom for Direct TV but it looks like I am going to have no choice. If I could give less than one star I would. read more

I (as a gamer) had Mediacom a eight years ago and never had an issue I canceled my internet in less than a year later. So My mom and dad decided to try them over AT&T internet because they have had connection issues. They got it and it disconnects between 7- 20 times in under an hour during peak hours (and weekends). Or it can work for two plus hours with no issue (a very, very rare case). We went out and upgraded the cable modem and Wifi for gaming ourselves. Now our the internet has a permanent local wifi signal but the internet coming into the house is so intermediate. When we call them to have the intermediate connection fixed they want someone to come inside to look at the cable modem because the lady (being very rude) says it is out of date when we got the high end set up specifically for gaming less than three months ago. I use to work for Charter Communications (Cable just like Mediacom) in Wisconsin, and have NEVER seen a worse internet connection including Dial up almost two decades ago (1998)! read more

An absolutely incredible company. Incredible because it takes an immense amount of effort to be as hated by ones customers as mediacom of Valdosta is. Having been a mediacom customer in five different locations I can say that mediacom's service is extraordinarily consistent. This is because it is constantly nonexistent. I have talked to dozens if not hundreds of local mediacom customers and have never heard the company's name uttered in a sentence without a following string of expletives so foul that they would make the most hardened criminal cringe. I have heard beloved grandmothers make homicidal promises as they pay for cable that's been broken for months at a time. I have seen calm and rational people lose their minds entirely when they have their internet disconnect 3 times in half an hour. I myself pay for the elitepak ($150) a month and only recieve basic cable without DVR service. ($35 monthly). It is startling to hear the certified mediacom technicians tell you that the cable box you've received is 7 years old and will not be replaceable. Stranger still to hear these technicians laugh at you when you ask if they would use mediacom with an employee discount. Mediacom's most incredible achievement is its ability to maintain a monopoly on a growing Valdosta when they are a cable internet and phone company without even passable Internet or cable in an era when no one needs a landline. Personally, I hope that mediacom is driven to bankruptcy through multiple class action law suits or a better competitor. 5 stars for a good laugh mediacom. read more

Mediacom has some of the rudest employees I've ever had to deal with. I was scheduled to get internet on the 6th of September. I called and verified THREE times, that the tech would call me when they're on their way so I could leave work to meet them because I have no one to sit at my house and wait for them. I was told those three times, yes it is protocol for the techs to call when they are ON THEIR WAY. I live alone, no where near family, and I take care of everything ON MY OWN. I personally, cannot afford to take four hours of my work day to sit and wait on someone not knowing when they'll show up, especially when I'm about to give y'all almost $200 to install my internet. So fast forward to the 6th, I'm sitting at work and my phones are blowing up, put of the corner of my eye I see my phone light up and it says "blocked caller id" and lately I've had a few of those, so sue me for not putting all the customers on the phone on hold to answer a restricted call, my mom always said if it's important they'll leave a message.. They did not. So I finished with the calls (which took maybe two minutes) and I thought maybe it was mediacom.. But surely they'd leave a voicemail right? Wrong. So I sat on the phone with customer service for almost an hour just to try to find out if that's who called, and of course it was. The conversation escalated because I was upset that I had already waited two weeks to get internet, and now I have to wait who even knows how long.. And to top it off I got a supervisor from hell who told me that the technicians job was more important than mine, that it isn't his job to wait on me, and he did his part by calling me to tell me he had arrived NOT THAT HE WAS ON HIS WAY. He called me at 2:35 and left my house at 2:40. Sounds to me that he just didn't want to do this job that I am going to PAY him to do. So what do I have to do? Reschedule for the 14th. I call today to confirm and got another rude girl, who said "its policy they call you 15 minutes before they get to your place, if your job is more important than answering their call then maybe you shouldn't be trying to do this on a day you work" HA so do y'all install on Sunday's??? That's MY day off. How ironic that its y'alls too. I ask a simple question of you CALL ME WHEN YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY SO I CAN LEAVE WORK AND MEET YOU, I have to work to feed myself and keep my power on just like you do. Believe it or not, four hours really affects my check when I have a specific budget set on my pay checks. I'd like a little more respect considering I had been nothing but nice until that supervisor made the whole situation out to be my fault, and I am also still willing to give y'all my money after all of this. I learned growing up to treat others how you want to be treated, so I live by it and treat everyone I meet with respect, as everyone else should do but I'm only in control of myself and hope that y'all do something about the way your employees speak to customers because unfortunately it wasn't only one. read more
