Everyone in the room was sitting up because there was a fight and screaming going on outside. One woman was shaking and crying. Being bipolar isn't a cakewalk, but this was the worst facility I have been a patient in in my entire life. The staff threatened patients with "zeroing them out" from their points, fights continuously broke out, and it was close to impossible to speak to a staff member. Brevard County can surely do better than this. I live in fear that I will ever have another episode and have to go back. It was literal hell.

I was referred to Dr. Patricia LaFleur at the eye Institute for medicine and surgery. I was quite apprehensive as I have never had any type of eyelid surgery or eye. surgery or facial surgery before. I think that Dr. LaFleur was the nicest person I've ever met. Honestly. She put me at ease right away and was so kind and understanding, particularly given that I was a bit nervous. She answered all of my questions and was very patient with me. The surgery went extraordinarily well and it is as though the condition was never there to begin with. I was also concerned about the possibility of scarring at the incision site but I am so pleased to say that there's no evidence of scarring whatsoever. On another note, her assistants in the Office were also nice, friendly and polite. They were very professional and obviously everyone had a great deal of experience. The whole situation was as excellent as it possibly could be. If somebody else needs this kind of medical service and they live anywhere in the Melbourne, Suntree, or Rockledge area, take it from me, there's no need to travel all the way to Bascom Palmer or to mayo clinic. It took a little while to find a good retina clinic but I was very impressed with Dr. Ganiban and the entire staff. After my initial appointment and exam at their Palm Bay location i had to go to their clinic on Nasa Blvd for a florescein angiography (a very thorough eye exam using special imaging equipment). It was an easy process and I and left there relieved that my eyesight is stable. I go back in six months for a follow up.
