Despite their posted hours showing that they were still open, I felt like the physician there spent more effort trying to convince me to go to the ER than evaluating or treating me. It felt like getting out the door on a Friday night was taking priority over patient care. What bothered me even more was the lack of consideration for what that recommendation actually means to a patient. Sending someone to the ER instead of providing appropriate urgent-care treatment can mean a dramatically higher bill, a much longer wait, and unnecessary use of emergency resources. That financial and practical impact should matter when making a recommendation, especially when a patient has specifically sought out urgent care for a reason. My experience at A Walk-In Medical Center was the complete opposite. Dr. Calle was kind, attentive, knowledgeable, and thorough. What impressed me even more was that he remembered me from a visit years ago. I never felt rushed or like I was an inconvenience. I felt listened to and cared for. There is a noticeable difference between healthcare that feels driven by corporate KPIs and healthcare where the people still treat medicine as a responsibility to the patient. This office still feels like the latter. I'm very grateful to Dr. Calle and the staff for taking care of me when I needed it.

I only visited here because it was the only close by place that was open at the time. Like others…read morewho have reviewed this it I found the doctor to be very rude, and lacked sympathy and compassion towards my 8 year old child. The doctor sprayed menthol in my son's eye and acted annoyed and impatient when of course he started crying and lost trust in him. He had no patience towards my son, all but ignored me, and talked to my son like he was an adult scaring him about worst case scenarios and his summer being ruined. After consulting three other medical professionals the day after my visit, all three said while he didn't give dangerous advice it's clear the doctor does not have experience with children, and advised old and out dated medical techniques to treat my sons wound. This was my first and will certainly be my last visit to this place. Don't bring your kids here.

After a day or two of deliberating I checked in with Priority Urgent Care having been there in the…read morepast. The front desk was managed by one female who asked questions pertinent to my condition and processed me thru. I waited maybe 5 minutes then called into an exam room and seen by the Med Tech who inquired with more questions RT my condition and in addition took my vitals x 3 and a few tests. {I was under the assumption my condition was related to either allergies or perhaps a sinus condition.} The provider entered shortly thereafter, "Jenna", a true professional "by the book" clinician who explained my condition with delicate ease. Much to my surprise it was the word the world is taking about. I got my meds, feel a whole lot better, grateful and thankful for the triage and professionalism exhibited by the three female staff for having gone the extra mile with additional questions to determine urgency hence the name of the clinic.

Front desk started socializing on irrelevant matters to some man who walked in. Laughing and joking about vacations. Unprofessional behavior. Still coughed like crazy. No sympathy. At least 15-20 minutes passed. Finally, got in the waiting room. Good check-up though, but later found out that there were about 2 other things I had on top of a fever. Paid out of pocket. Forgot my insurance card. Later came back a different day, brought my card back in, tried to get it----wasted several hours of precious time. Contacted my insurance and they had a 20 minute conversation with the people at the front desk. Still haven't gotten my reimbursement. They gave a relative of mine a VERY hard time as well, and he was helping out an elderly person. My aging relative had to go back and forth, repeatedly, just to accommodate a person that was sick. They need to step up their service standards. BIG TIME. Not fair. If sick people are coming to you, you got to do your very best to take care of them as best as possible and not look out for profits. Very simple. People are suffering right now in the economy. Is it really that hard simply to give a person a reimbursement after they got their insurance? Is it really necessary to gossip in the front desk when people in front of you are suffering?

I've seen some other reviews for a very slow wait time here and agree that it can happen. However…read moreif you try to go when they first open in the morning you can shoot right in! I've had zero wait time the last two times I've been here using this tactic. The staff is always very nice, facility is clean, they are thorough, prescription call in is a breeze (some you can fill here) and they even have services like X-rays. It's easier than getting an appointment at your general practitioner and less of a production than the ER for a minor illness like bronchitis or stitches. They are helpful with insurance.

The front desk staff was pleasant and I didn't have to wait long, probably the only positives of going here. I was taken back to a room and shortly after a female PA came in. She literally looked me in the face and said "I'm not sure what you came here expecting" as if I had hobbled into my dentists office and told them I'd hurt my knee. She didn't touch my knee once or do any sort of exam, just had one of the nurses take me for an x-ray (which showed nothing). Then when she returned with the results she said "you may have injured your meniscus." Again, this was done without doing any sort of exam whatsoever. She then told me she'd wrap it in an ace bandage and told me to try going to an orthopedist. The two minutes she took to wrap my knee was the extent of her coming within 5 feet of me! Wrapping my knee in an ace bandage was probably the worst thing for me because it only made the pain worse! I would have been better off taking my $75 co-pay and lighting it on fire instead of wasting my time here.

While most Healthcare providers we know charge a lot and often receive poor reviews, this one has…read moresomething the others dont - Unqualified and unknowledgeable doctors. Add that to a corporation that doesn't care, and you HAVE TO AVOID. Went to Urgent Care, doctor looked one second at me, gave a diagnosis and recommended treatment, and sent a large bill. After 8 weeks of treatment, I went to a specialist who indicated that there was NO WAY any qualified doctor could give that diagnosis, as the ailment diagnosed could not possibly be caused by pain in the reported location. Complete malpractice and Misdiagnosis. Happily went to a real agency who provided proper treatment and care and months later I am better. But Hartford Heath could care less. I called and filed a complaint, with a reasonable request that I should not be paying a bill if the diagnosis was blatantly wrong, and they refused a refund without any appeals. You have a choice to who you go to. Your health is important. Why would anyone go to a place where doctor's don't have basic medical knowledge to make correct decisions to your health, and likewise if they do make a mistake, they refuse to stand behind their product. Fairfield can do better. Linda Thompkins, Patient Advocate, likewise should really change title to Hartford Healthcare Advocate, as she is ineffective.

Tl;dr I couldn't have had a better experience with Dr. Marchetti…read more I was having an anorectal medical issue that wasn't responding to my home treatment, so I showed up here on Sunday about 10 minutes before they opened. There was a really long (socially distanced) line; I wasn't sure how soon I'd be seen. Most folks ahead of me must have been waiting for a COVID test ticket*. When I filled out my intake paperwork about half an hour later (a little after opening), I was told to expect about a half hour wait to be seen for my issue. I asked about how to walk to Dunkin (I don't have a car and had taken a Lyft). The two folks at the front desk helpfully pointed in the same direction. About half an hour later, I was back and was pointed to the waiting room. I waited some more time (probably less than half an hour), and my name was called. The nurse who got my medical history was really wonderful, friendly, sympathetic, genuine. Due to the location of my issue, I disclosed* that I am trans (FtM). She asked if I was comfortable being seen by either of the two male doctors, and I asked (light-heartedly but also genuinely) for "the nicer one". She says they're both really nice, and also asked if I wanted anyone else in the room. (*intake paperwork had only male/female options and no field for pronouns) At first I said no, but then I backtracked and asked if she was an option, which she was. As a trans person, getting health care in such an intimate area can be really nerve-wracking even if I didn't specifically feel unsafe. She returned moments later with a very warm doctor who I felt comfortable with in less than 5 seconds. He explained what he would be looking for and offered to examine me in whatever position was most comfortable (suggested lying on my side on the bed, which I did). I barely felt awkward at all, plus it was pretty quick since my issue was apparent (4th-degree hemorrhoids). The doctor recommended a specific colon/rectal surgeon: "she would be doing my surgery if I needed it." He advised me to take a fiber supplement and a laxative in the meantime (to avoid things getting worse by straining), and to drink plenty of water while doing so. He returned with a typed letter with those discharge instructions and also gave me a brief letter with his referral. CVS is right next door, so I went and got what I needed, and headed home. This was a really great experience. Definitely will come again if I need to in the future.

DOES NOT HONOR APPOINTMENTS! I made an appointment to come here for 4:40. There were no other…read moreappointments on the calendar, but when I arrived, there were quite a number of walk-ins. From my understanding, like every other facility they're supposed to take the appointments first, but they did not do that. I did speak with the office manager, Amanda, who told me that if 10 walk ins come in at 4:39 PM before my 4:40 appointment,- they will see those walk ins before my scheduled appointment - um what?? How does that make any sense?! Effectively, even though I have an appointment I get treated like walkin number 11?! The whole point of the appointment is to have a scheduled time? They need to clearly post this policy online so people such as myself are not taking PTO to show up for an appointment, and be treated like a walk in, which they claim it's their policy to do?! As a result, I was sitting in the waiting room for 25 minutes before I was called while they took all the walk-in appointments. I can completely understand if they're running late, but it is extremely disrespectful to my work schedule for me to take time off of work to show up there on time and then have them prioritize walk-in appointments over my scheduled appointment. I ended up having to get a refund and leave without being seen, which is absolutely ridiculous.
