I've been a patient at Medallus Sandy for nearly 19 years and have always spoken highly of the clinic. But what happened on June 23rd, 2025 completely shattered that trust, and I will never return. A friend of mine was being treated inside and had just been diagnosed on-site with a collapsed lung. He was instructed to get to the emergency room immediately. Since I was next door, he asked me to come drive him to Alta View Hospital. I arrived within minutes and entered the clinic to let staff know I was there to transport him. I approached the front desk employee and quickly explained this was an emergency and I was there to take a patient who needed urgent hospital care. Instead of responding with even basic acknowledgment or urgency, she snapped at me to sit down and wait, as if I were interrupting her paperwork. I calmly repeated that I was there to take someone with a collapsed lung to the ER, and again she barked at me to sit and refused to take one step toward notifying anyone in the back. She didn't ask questions. She didn't try to understand the situation. She simply reacted with hostility, ignored the medical urgency, and decided she didn't want to "deal with me." She shouted that phrase more than once before walking off. I never raised my voice. I never caused a scene. I simply asked for help getting someone to the ER. Thankfully, another staff member , one who clearly understood the difference between routine and real urgency, came out and assisted immediately. But the situation didn't end there. As we were leaving, the same front desk staff member followed us outside, went behind my vehicle, and took a photo of my license plate without saying a word. When I asked for her name, she refused to give it and quickly retreated inside. Her behavior was aggressive, unprofessional, and completely devoid of empathy or judgment. This was a real medical emergency, and she treated it like an annoyance, then retaliated when someone expected her to take action. Because of this incident, I am canceling my own Medallus membership and will not be renewing the plans I manage for 48 independent contractors, all of whom have used Medallus under my guidance. This was not a one-off mistake -- it was a failure of character in a role that requires compassion, calm, and common sense. If this is who you trust to represent your clinic at the front desk, then it's no longer a place I can trust with my care, or the care of anyone I'm responsible for. read more

terrible horrible company, all they want to do is maximize the amount that bill you to increase profits. I went in for a TB test for my job which requires them annually. I have been going to the same Medallus location for the last 4 years for these tests and this time I was charged for a physical and additional charges, my bill was wayyyyy larger than any of the other times i have been in for the same visit. When i looked into why that was the case i found that they had charged for several other CPT codes in increase the cost while only providing the same care as my previous visits. the billing team is useless, when trying to speak with them they would take 3 weeks to reply. read more

I fell hard at work and scraped up my left knee pretty badly and believe that my right foot is broken. I rolled my ankle causing the fall. They never even looked at my left knee that needed to be cleaned up and bandaged and administered nsaids meds that I had explained to them that I am not supposed to have because I have had a gastric bypass. I was literally told to take them anyways. Then, they were unable to give me an x-ray to verify that my right foot was not broken until the next day so I had to go back for the x-ray. I explained that the medication even alternating with Tylenol was not helping the pain enough. They even took my blood pressure and it was 140/90 when it's usually 117/80- but I was told that these meds are "the standard of care" and that I would have to "deal with the pain". Not only that, but it's been days and still have no idea if my foot is broken or just sprained. I was told that I would be informed once the radiologist reviewed the x-ray but still nothing. The staff was friendly enough but the lack of actual care was pretty astonishing and I will not be coming back to this one. read more

My household is one that very rarely seeks medical care. We'll suffer through a flu or a cold on our own. Cuts that would be better treated with stitches are usually managed with liquid bandages or not at all (and I've got the scars to prove it!). All this is to say that when we do go to the doctor, it's for good reason. Medallus is located around the corner from VASA on 1300 East. Plentiful parking is available. The waiting room is large, newer, and looks pleasant enough, even featuring a (slightly neglected) saltwater aquarium. When I retrieved a pen dropped under my chair, I found dust and remnants of snacks underneath, so maybe don't let your kids crawl around, but besides that it appeared fairly clean. Despite the fact that there were no other patients present, we waited a good half hour for my husband to be fetched. Following another thirty minutes, a medical assistant appeared, requesting I join him. Finally, twenty minutes after that, the PA returned, found the in-office medication she'd ordered was never given to my husband, tracked down the MA, finally gave it to him, and we were released (with no diagnosis or really any helpful information of any sort). On the drive home, we realized we'd never received his promised prescription, so called the office back, and they immediately said it was sent electronically to the pharmacy. It was late, so we didn't go until the following day to pick it up and.....it wasn't there. We called Medallus AGAIN, and they said it was sent to a different pharmacy. Fine. I guess. But the odd thing is, that I received a notification that we had a prescription ready about twenty minutes following that phone call...Almost as though they'd forgotten to send the Rx in the day prior, so hurried to do so right then. Hmmmm. Having worked at a doctor's office for five years, I have a unique perspective when it comes to medical care. I am relatively forgiving regarding lengthy wait times. I know you cannot control what walks through the door, or how exactly an appointment will go, or the degree of care a particular patient will require. On the other hand, there is no reason one should forget to give a patient medication while in the office, or send their prescription to the wrong pharmacy, or forget to send it period. Sure, our medical system is broken, but when providing patient care, there are things you as an individual can do to help ease the discomfort or pain of an individual patient, and that attention was lacking here. read more

When one is not feeling well and can barely speak, the least a place like this could provide is kind or cordial customer service. She is the woman with sparse eyebrows and heavy set and black hair. The front desk and medical assistant were wonderful to me. The medical assistant really tried to help me get what I needed, she heard me. So a big thank you to her. The PA Jacob Hendricks was awful. He spoke very kindly to me but didn't listen to what I had to say at all. I have a really demanding job and I got sick. He gave me one day excusal from work. When I get sick, I get really sick. In addition I have an autoimmune illness, so I know my body. When I tried to explain things (my body, my job) he just said what he had already said, like I didn't understand.. when it was him not understanding or hearing me. In the note he shared my personal medical information, too. Hello- HIPAA?! It took like over 30 minutes to get that rewritten. I will no longer go to any of these locations. Thank goodness they could test me for my illness I was there for, otherwise I probably wouldn't have been treated at all with how much he didn't hear anything I said. read more

0 STARS! WOST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! UNPROFESSIONAL, GREEDY, AND INCOMPITENT MEDICAL STAFF! (SEZIURE) This facility caused me to have a seizure for the very first time. I have absolutely no clue where this medical team has gotten their training from and I truly hope the nurse involved resigns from medicine. The front desk was rude and the old lady gave me a dirty look as I walked in and left a new girl completely confused to check me in. She did not obtain any insurance, id, or medical information. Long story short I was getting my blood drawn because I am severely sick and needing the help. I started feeling light headed and dizzy like I was going to faint. I immediately said this to the nurse. As I said this I watched the nurse pull the tube of blood out and put a new one to fill in. As most know procedure would be so safely pull out the needle and attend to the patient. This nurse decided that she would get the rest of the blood first. When I stated that I might faint she acknowledged that the room was to hot and she would open the door after she was done. She told me to just hang on were almost there. My husband started telling her after I said I think I'm going to faint that he thinks she is taking to much blood. She ignored both of us and I fainted following an anoxic seizure. When I came to, the nurse practitioner Rebecca thought it would be wise to try to put me on the tall hospital bed even after being told I just had a seizure. I'm thankful for my medical training and safely got myself to the floor. The nurse tried lying saying that I did not have a seizure until my husband raised his voice and said that he has seen them before with someone else and that's exactly what it looked like. She even explained how my hips thrusted up and my body shook. I did not hear anything from them for 5 days and the 3 days following an anoxic seizure are crucial and it can cause it to reoccur with something as simple as being stressed or overheated but I was not given that information or even what type of seizure I had. I had to find it out on my own and the DR confirmed that I was correct. I tried to get into contact with the medical team to get a refund. I reached out 3 times to their 3rd party the first time they didn't even file my complaint. The second time they told me it would be a few days and they would expedite it. The 3rd time they told me two weeks and that the previous time wasn't expedited. I finally got tired of being given the run around and contacted the office. I called 3 times and waited 3+ days in between each time to still be ignored. I finally went into the office and eventually after a lot of fuss someone gave me an email to send. This was the 4th time contacting their in house person named Aubrey. I cried and begged and made it clear that I needed the refund so that I was able to go and see another DR and get the proper care that this facility was negligent at. She told me they did everything right so they would not be giving a refund, but if it was so important I could talk to the person above her. I sent my email and to no surprise the person above her is just as negligent as the rest of the staff and ignored me. I have had my blood drawn since that showed sever medical problems that needed to be addressed. I did not have a seizure with the new blood draws. I wasn't able to go to another DR for 2 months because I am a 23 year old college student who had to wait for school to start to be able to afford to see a DR. This company is greedy and only cares about the money. Patients are just a dollar sign and another day to them. Please save your money, your health, your time, and yourself and go somewhere else. read more

I usually don't mind this insta care, the wait times are usually long but I've never had a problem with my treatment or care from the staff or doctors. My issue comes from their billing/claim department. I have been to this insta care 3x and each time I go, I get a random bill in the mail! I contacted my insurance (after calling Medallus and them saying my insurance was billed correctly) and my insurance stated that they never even got a claim. I think they outsource their billing to somewhere else so it's REALLY hard to get the bills fixed and honestly it seems kind of fishy? Make sure you ALWAYS check your bills from this place. read more

Corey Newman did an amazing job stitching up a cut on my forehead. I was a little nervous about the scaring because it my face. However, Corey took the additional time nessasry to make sure it was done perfectly in order to minimize scaring. The rest of the staff was great. read more

First, I was very pleasantly surprised to learn that they charge the primary physician co pay vs. the insta care co pay. It makes going to insta care more doable. Next, I was very happy with the service I received. The nurses were super friendly and the doctor was awesome. He was very friendly and knowledge. He was sure to do all the necessary tests to help me figure out what was wrong. He was very kind and answered all the questions I had regarding treatment of my flu and bronchitis. read more

My brother had a fairly severe ailment when we decided to go to this urgent care, and we were in line to be treated, when another patient came in and asked who the on staff resident was and when she found out it was her friend she told her to make sure she got to her first. After waiting for 45 minutes ourselves before she walked in, we were a little taken back when they were taken in a little under 10 minutes after they arrived. It felt like a bit of a slap in the face to have been waiting patiently in line and then to be pushed aside so that the doctor could treat her close friend first. read more

this was the worst experience I have ever had, and I have been to multiple urgent cares. There was absolutely no sense of urgency from the two females working at the desk on 11/2 when I walked in at 5:20. I was asked to sign in, sit down, and wait. After 20 minutes still nothing, the two girls tell a new customer it is about a 20 minute wait, so as I had already been waiting 15 minutes, I asked what is taking so long, and was finally informed I had to fill out paperwork, I had told them I needed to be done by 6 then. I had then been waiting 25 minutes. so I asked again how long it would be since I obviously came prepared for the drug test and was about to explode. This woman had the audacity to tell me it will be 30 minutes after I had almost been waiting that long! By that time, I told them that in 10 minutes, my ticket will expire, and they did absolutely nothing about that! all they had to do was walk back and scan it to make sure that I would get the credit and would not have to ask my company to reschedule this. There was absolutely no reason that they could not have walked back to scan my E passport being I had already been waiting a total of 40 minutes in their facility, and they knew I needed to be out and done by 6 o'clock. My son had a work accident, a pry bar slipped when he was taking a tire off and hit his face, cut through his lip to his gum, manager took my son here and they refused to see him because he didn't have his id on him, the manager offered them to hold her id just so we could get him treated and they refused, when i got there i told the guy i could live my id with him and go get my son's from work just get him in and he said he wasn't sure i'd come back and sounded like we were committing fraud. Long story short I had to put my son back in my car with his face bleeding and drive back to get his id, we went back and finally got him in and turned out it the injury was too severe and they couldn't treat him there which i do understand. the nursed were nice and caring but the person at the front desk had no regards for a patient well being, Thankfully it did't turn into something major. read more

Had an incident that required stitches, little bit of a wait time but I was in no rush , I hate needles and needed a tetanus shot nurse and Doc were very understanding and made it as easy as possible on me. We have been coming here since we moved to UT. Initially they were kind, considerate and genuinely seemed like they wanted to help their patients. As time has passed they seem to really hate their job. The girl in the front office completely ignored me and my daughter's, helped people that came in after we did and when I spoke up she was straight rude! Wouldn't even look at me as she was asking questions as to why I was there. After this we will officially be finding another Dr. Office! read more

Front desk Girl Elizabeth, Very unprofessional! first time I came in she didn't greet my husband and I and she kept taking calls and ignoring us. I eventually said hi and she looked at me and didn't say anything, then I said hi again and she responded. She said we don't have anyone at this location that does blood work so I left and called a few days later and was told that they do blood work if I had a doctors order which I did. I came in again and unfortunately she was front desk girl again. Her excuse now was they don't do outpatient orders. I had it done last year at this same location in September and everything went fine. I asked if rules have changed and she said no, which doesn't make any sense. So, It has to be that the front desk staff are truly morons or they are just very disrespectful and immature. I use to like coming to medallus for any quick medical issues. I've been coming for the last 16 years. I won't be coming back. Hire new front desk staff. Not giving medallus a good reputation. read more

They are always helpful and take great care to make sure you are comfortable and your needs are met. As a full time working Mom in the journalism industry I often times don't keep regular working hours and I have learned my kids don' t either when it comes to getting sick. I was panicked Sunday night when my daughter came down with a high fever, sore throat and stomach pain. Thank you After Hours Medical for being open late Sunday evenings!!!! I rarely leave reviews, but feel strongly that I should make others aware of our experience with this place. I took my sister in on the morning of 1/17/19. She was having severe abdominal/flank pain and running a fever. We suspected a kidney infection. After waiting for half an hour, we were finally taken back. Vitals were taken as well as a urine sample. About five minutes later, the doctor came in and "interviewed" my sister about her symptoms. He then agreed that clearly she was suffering from something but that her urine came back CLEAN. He urged us to go to the ER to get a CT scan. While he was out preparing notes and a shot of toradol (sp) I stepped out and called my sister's primary care doctor. After explaining her symptoms they said they could squeeze her in at 3:15. We told the doctor, when he came back in, that we got an appointment with her pcp so we were gonna skip the ER visit. He again strongly urged us to go to the ER (which is $350 copay for my sister). Well we did not go to the ER. We waited until 3:15 to see my sister's pcp. They took another urine sample plus bloodwork. The urine sample revealed "acute infection." And the bloodwork confirmed it with high white cell count. All of us, including my sister's doctor, are baffled at the "clean" urine sample from this urgent care. This place used to be great years ago, but, unfortunately, has sharply declined. I agree with one of the other reviewers.. if you have ANY OTHER ALTERNATIVE, then avoid this place. read more

Users be warned these people are scam artists. We set up an account with them for their monthly billing cycle and ended up canceling it later. They didn't touch our account for about a year and then started pulling money out non stop. $40 here, $135 there. Understand that these people are scam artists and will absolutely take money from you non stop. read more

Unfortunately for my youngest, she learned the hard way not to run around the pool by falling and lacerating her chin. I could have probably treated her myself, but to be safe we visited this clinic. After an hour or so wait, which isn't bad nowadays, my daughter was seen by a friendly PA and her chin was glued shut, which is something I could have and probably should have done. I was told our insurance would be accepted and that we should come back for a second visit to check on how she was healing. We were told the follow up would be free. Unfortunately, I was misled. I discovered insurance covered only a small portion and the second visit, where a PA literally just looked at my daughter's chin, cost $157. The two visits ended up costing me $517.09. read more

I never leave reviews but this is by far the worst medical experience I have ever had. I went in because I suspected a hairline fracture on my ankle bone due to a trauma moi and re-injury. The "doctor" listened to me and before he even performed any tests immediately told me I was wrong and there was nothing wrong with my ankle. Mind you it's clearly swollen and I experience pain with walking, bending, and to the touch. I started to get upset and this guy has NO communication skills whatsoever, he started arguing with me and said "what do you want me to do" and I just wanted to be treated and validated! He looked at the x rays and said he didn't see anything, and then said "what do you want" - instead of suggesting treatment (rest, ace wraps, boot, etc.) and of course I don't know what I want because I don't know how to treat my unknown injury! I walked out the door without any paperwork about my visit, without a suggested treatment plan, and without any confidence about the doctors opinion. I could also hear him talking about me through the door and I'm shocked about the lack of professionalism and care for the patients. I ended up going to a different urgent care to get a second opinion!! read more

This place should be closed by the Utah Health Department. We stopped as it was the closest place after my wife was stung by a bee. Having severe reactions in the past, we new time was critical. After clearly communicating she had been stung and had a history of reaction, we were handed paperwork, which we complete. After waiting (with zero activity in the clinic) for 5 min I went up and stated my wife needed to be seen soon, give. Her history of severe reactions. The receptionist said "Oh, if you have severe reactions you need to go to the ER." I told her she needed evaluated now by the clinician and the receptionist then asked if I wanted her to call an ambulance. She refused to even ask the clinician to come up front. Even the most basic place with "urgent care" slapped on the window should be able to assess a patient and provide initial treatment. Do not use this place if you have ANY alternative. read more

I have always been happy with the medical care I received at this location. I have a great primary care doctor, but sometimes I need medical attention nights or weekends. The staff here has saved the day many times. The wait can be long at times, but I always leave feeling like I was given quality, professional care. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! There should be a zero star option. You would be better off in every way going to the ER than to come here. We took our daughter in for an xray of her wrist. After a 30 minute visit, we were told it wasn't broken. They came in with a wrist brace. We said we could just go grab one at Walgreens, the nurse told us the brace would be $25-30. We decided it was worth it to pay $5-10 more to have her leave with it on and not hassle with going out to buy one. WE WERE BILLED $550 for the visit. We were told our insurance was accepted. The price they billed us for the brace was $250.00 FOR A $19.99 brace. This place is such a scam it is absolutely robbery. We fought it for several months, trying to get someone to fix what seemed to be an obvious error. Months later we have been told it is final and there was no error. They did us a favor by charging only what their cost for the brace was at a bargain price of $85.00. I was told our insurance had already paid a portion and there was no one else I could go to. We have gone to this clinic several times as it is close. I would drive an hour if I had to to avoid this place in the future. Do yourself a favor and AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS read more
